You can find Desi Chowrastha at 3120 Mathis Airport Pkwy Ste 102 Suwanee, GA 30024 - this is sort of a no man's land on the edge of Suwanee, a large shopping center with businesses focused on South Asian cuisine with several options. There's plenty of free parking in the lots surrounding the building. I met an old friend here at his suggestion as I had been working nearby. This is a a smaller chain restaurant more reminiscent of the breakfast shops I saw while visiting India, with a focus on breakfast offerings (they serve up a whole menu but the feel to me is more like a breakfast place). It's fast casual so you order at the counter - the wall behind the counter has a fairly extensive menu of options. The interior is very clean if a bit utilitarian with hand-painted graphics on the walls. Continuing with the breakfast feel of the place, I ordered a Mysore style dosa and milk latte (Indian style so the milk is boiled in the tea). What came to the table was impressive and very authentic, also super filling. My friend Sid ordered a Masala dosa which also looked delicious. As mentioned service is fairly minimal but you are greeted with friendly faces willing to discuss the menu. I'll be returning for sure.

    Egg frankie

One of the very very bad food taste, in which angle does this look as "Frankie" Its just stuffed with egg burji ( that too not nicely cooked done ) Very bad experience. Thanks

This place is packed and for a reason. They have so much variety of Indian food. The culture is displayed through out the restaurant and you know it's good when brown people eat there. The pani puri station was delicious and I would go again. This is a 10/10 in my books.

Came here with some friends & we ordered of items. We didn't like a single thing we had. It was too oily, salty, and flavorless. We ordered the paneer manchurian, chicken 65, golkonda kodi, and pepper shrimp. I wouldn't recommended any of this. The food took a very long time to come. I also made a to go order for an oreo milkshake and frankie's. We received the frankie after around 30 minutes and continued waiting for the oreo shake. We asked again and were told to bring the receipt to the beverage station (little hole in the plastic wall). If we hadn't asked again then we would've been waiting there for a lot longer. No one was at the station so we had to wait another 15 minutes for someone to come. By the time we received the shake we didn't even want it anymore. It was liquidy and tasted like sugar milk. I would also like to highlight how messy the workstations are as pictured. This made me queasy to see after eating here. Was honestly very disappointed.

I have been here multiple times. Every time I go there the crowd is huge as If they're giving it for free. I donno I feel like the seating is very less. I have tried Mirchi Bajji, Punukulu, Jalapeño chicken, Chicken Dosa, samosa etc. All of the food was ok. Irani Chai is really great. Good that they have Prepaid Tea card or else we have to wait for just the tea in that huge line and crowd. Wish they had little big seating and more parking space. Ambience is ok.

If you are in search of a Spice godown then this is that place. Yet another typical Andhra based restaurant that runs solely on spice and nothing else. No taste or flavor whatsoever but such a huge selection of food and variety. The second highlight of this restaurant is that they serve your hot food in PLASTIC meal prep boxes / to go boxes for such price value. Totally not worth for a dine in experience at all. No one cares either be it the customers or the owner! Food: We went in for dine for the very first time on a Friday night and it's crowded around 7PM. We have had decent to go experiences in the past. So this time we got Chilli Baby corn, Kaju Paneer Pulao, Pav Bhaji and Chikoo shake. Chilli baby corn is such a let down, it was the only thing that wasn't spicy but the oil or batter it was cooked smelt so old and tasted so bad. A big no no! Pav Bhaji was the most pathetic one especially with so much chilli powder spice and nothing else. Just boil a bunch of vegetables, add chilli powder and salt and serve. More like a Bachelor's cooking during initial stages. Kaju Paneer pulao was decent. The paneer was cooked well and the kaju was excellent. I had got this one before so wanted to try this again and it was the better of the lot. This dish is basically like they make the kaju paneer gravy and boil some rice and pour over it. During previous to go experiences I have had Paneer Dosa and it tasted good. The Gobi biryani was spicy again! Someone needs to make them understand that Chili powder is not the only spice we get in the world and that's consumable. Above all they serve these hot food or stale food in PLASTIC to go boxes despite sitting for dine in. Not sure what's the logic behind here. Are they aware of what they're doing, certainly not sure. Chikoo shake & Fruit custard are just amazing. Service & Ambience: The service is very good and the people at the counters are very courteous, knowledgeable on what customers need and respond without hurrying in spite of having a huge line to attend. Great service. The ambience is not so great, it's almost like a normal hotel back in India. And one more thing is that everyone assumes the other person is Telugu and starts talking instantly in Telugu (especially the people at counter and serving). That's there everywhere but this place is too much. BOTTOMLINE: A very average restaurant that serves hot and ONLY spicy and tasteless food in plastic containers. The taste is never there because of overpowering spice which they are not ready to tone down at all. Precooked food mostly. Wouldn't visit this place or recommend. MY PICKS FOR YOU: Paneer Dosa, KajuPaneer Pulao, Fruit custard, Chikoo shake

Desi Chowrastha - Indian Eatery is a new addition to Indian restaurant list in Atlanta area. It's a chain restaurant with multiple locations within USA. The food served here is consistently good and tasty. Among their offerings, chats, snacks, and pani puri stand out as my favorites, satisfying cravings for flavorful street food delights. However, the real star of the show is the Irani chai, a must-try for any visitor. The ambience is decent, providing a comfortable setting for diners to enjoy their meals, while the service is commendable. If you are looking for a quick bite or take-out then only this is a place to come. It is super crowded most of the times and super noisy. Ordered Karam Dosa and Chai. Both tasted really good and yummy. Tried multiple times and tastes the same and best. My friends visited Atlanta and I took them to this place they loved it. Plenty of free parking available in front of the resturant. Self service and nice ambience to dine in. I will suggest this place as the best restaurant to hangout with friends & family only if you are fine with crowd and noise around. Recommended dishes are Masala/Karam Dosa, Dahi Puri, Indian Style Veg Fried Rice, Chicken Dum Biryani, Irani Chai, Chaats, Fried Rice, Goat Dum Biryani, and Egg Frankie. Desi Chowrastha gives attention to the diversified food and culture of various cities in India. With the touch of southern spices, they are trying to deliver "scrumptious food that smack your lips" catering to South Asian, and local and international foodies. Indian quick service restaurant and street food. They are part of the fastest growing restaurant chain in USA and now they are serving Atlanta area now. The prices are affordable and reasonable comparied to others in the area. I will definitely come back soon to try more from their extended menu.

New indian place in Suwanee. Always crowded. Parking right across can be difficult but plenty of space behind the restaurant. They have a large variety of options from starters, evening chai & snacks, breakfast items, breads/biryanis, street food, sugar cane and other fresh juice, cakes / icecreams, live pani puri. The food seems to be fresh, atleast for now. The service was friendly. We tried the butter chicken, garlic naan, 65 biryani. So far everything tasted good. 65 is def one of the best we had in OTP area. Hope they continue to maintain the standards. Highly recommend to order ahead for togo. They do have text message system for orders. The seating inside isnt huge so expect to wait long times over weekends.

Mutter paneer #2. Looks and tastes completely different than the mutter paneer #1 I had received a few days prior.

I've been here twice, both within a few days of each other. It is not a fast restaurant; expect to wait (during a non busy time, it was just myself and maybe two others) at least 40 minutes for one entree. The interior is very basic, Chipotle/take out restaurant feeling. It's a huge menu, but each time I ordered, I was told it either wasn't available or they were out. Having an updated/available menu online so I could see what was available to order would be handy rather than playing "well is X available? No? How about Y?" At the register. I ended up ordering the exact same dish both times (Mutter Paneer). They must have different chefs with different recipes because both dishes were completely different. They both had paneer and peas but that is where the similarities ended. One dish had a yellow/orange based, thick cream sauce. The other was like diced onions in a red/brown oily tomato sauce. The rice was the same with both, though. Tasted and looked very different. Pic is of the second mutter paneer. Parking lot is very small. I honestly don't know how they were approved by the property manager. Thankfully I went during non busy times, but I've driven by during a meal time and it was chaos. All in all, be flexible with what you want, have lots of time to wait, be willing to walk from another part of the parking lot, and know that there is not consistently between different days, and you'll enjoy! Food was good.

Egg Fried rice, Schezuan fried rice and chilli mushroom.
    Naag M.

A lot of our friends mentioned this restaurant and we decided to give it a shot. We ordered takeout of Egg Fried Rice and Schezuan fried rice along with dragon chicken and chilli mushroom. Let's just say never get Indochinese food from here. It's like the chef has no idea what indochinese food tastes like. The schezuan fried rice literally tasted like biryani along with saffron rice and everything. The Chilli mushroom was a mess of sweet and sour sauce and heavily breaded soggy mushrooms. I am deeply regretting ordering indochinese from here instead of our usual restaurants like Adda and Aachies. You have been warned

    Paneer Dosa

New restaurant opened in Suwanee! This is a hidden location on Mathis Airport Pkwy. The menu is huge! We ordered the paneer dosa, mysore masala dosa (spicy), irani chai, and chicken 65. Everything was AMAZING! The paneer dosa has paneer bhurji shredded inside, which is different from a normal dosa. The mysore dosa was a little bit spicy than usual. The sambar given was mild-medium but tasty and didn't have too many masalas in it. The irani chai is the winner here! Chicken 65 had some gravy, and was delicious. As you enter; you order at the front desk and they bring the food to you. Many options from dosa, chaat, indo-Chinese, and appetizers. The only downside is, they serve the hot food in plastic plates, bowls. Which I don't mind, but sometimes people think it's toxic.

I came to this Desi Chowrasta restaurant yesterday with my friends, and we were a group of around 10 people. We tried a few starters and biryani, but the food wasn't that great, Goat pulav was just okay. This evening, I came back with my boy and tried the ghee karam dosa. It was the worst ghee karam dosa I've ever had; the dosa was roasted like a papad. I'm a foodie and try a lot of places, but this was the worst dosa I've ever had. I didn't like it at all and ended up throwing it away. Since I was in a bit of a rush, I asked them why the dosa was like this, and they said they could make another one if I wanted. I just told them, "No need, thanks," and left.

Chewing gum stuck between two boxes of chutney.

I've been to this establishment multiple times and personally like the food, but this kind of negligent management with someone's chewing gum in the vicinity of the food is nothing short of terrible. The most important aspect is this issue happened on Sunday, 1/5, and when I reported it to the management and requested a callback from the manager for explanation, there was no response. The accountability is lacking, and such instances (there was a metal bolt in the food based on a prior customer review) clearly shows the scant disregard for safety and cleanliness from this management.

Everyone was getting the lunchbox so we decided to try the non-veg lunchbox ($9.99), it came with two sides, rice, naan, chicken wing, and Gobi. It was so much food and delicious. What a deal. Definitely recommend. We also got the chicken tikka masala and garlic naan. Wow, the tikka was amazing. The chicken was very tender, not dry at all and the flavor was perfect, it wasn't too sweet like a lot of other places which I love. The naan was so fresh. The prices are more affordable than other Indian restaurants in the area. I'm so excited this place opened up next to us. The best Indian food hands down. Will recommend them to everyone.

Hands down to the most amazing South Indian food serving Vegetarian restaurant here in Georgia…read more Have been visiting since their opening in Summer of 2025, and their consistency is just fabulous irrespective of the day and time you visit. Food quality is great and their service, ambience is totally worth it! THE FOOD: This is one Vegetarian restaurant probably on the lines of offering some very unique dishes more specific to Tamil Nadu style at a reasonable price. Some of them seem expensive, but still would say it's really worth it. I have tried almost everything ranging from their South Indian tiffin items to Dosa to Thali to North Indian Curries and Fried rice. My best and most favorite would be their Dosa varieties. There are spicy dishes which they usually let us know ahead as we eat with Kids, and we try to avoid them. If there's a requirement for mild spice they genuinely try to honor it 10/10 times till now. They do have a very nice non alcoholic drink menu which has a lot of refreshing drinks and they are so good. The Paneer Sizzler tikka was amazing along with the Mint chutney. The North Indian curries seemed a bit on the spicy side but still good. The Maha Thali was incredibly good. It has a great variety of items and nicely presented and it varies by week. The only and the main concern I have is the Sambar. While everything here is so similar to what we get in Madras/ Tamil Nadu, Sambar is probably the only item that looks totally off. I really wish they look into this and address it ASAP. Also the recent experience of having Idiyappam with Kurma was kind of disappointing as the Kurma masala was over the top. The Paneer fried rice I once had was kind of okay and dry. Tomato Soup & Desserts were damn good. The quality is usually good and sits well on your tummy. SERVICE & AMBIENCE: A very crowded restaurant on the weekends and wait time can go unto 40 mins to 1 hour during peak hours of Lunch and Dinner. The ambience is so perfect with ample lighting and refreshing as we walk in. The seating arrangements are good and nicely spaced out. The staffs here are extremely courteous and well mannered. They are truly helpful especially the lady with the glasses and the guy Dhayanidhi (I guess that was his name). They sincerely consider the feedback from our end every time we go there and they are outright apologetic if they got things wrong or anything happens. Highly compassionate and friendly people working in here. BOTTOMLINE: Such a lovely Veg restaurant with enormous varieties and great quality and quantity of food at a very optimal pricing. I hope they consider their Sambar recipe to align with Madras/ TN style than being so generic. Extremely friendly and courteous staffs. I have been taking my friends and relatives here and will definitely continue to visit this place. MY PICKS FOR YOU: Paneer Tikka, Tomato Soup, Paneer Kurchan, Srirangam Chef Spl Dosa, Rush Tiffin

I like the way the inside is decorated, it feels very open and clean. The seating choice (orange ones) are a little low to the ground. We ordered a lot of items to share: 1. Paneer Dragon ($14) - I really liked this. It tasted like a classic chilli paneer, but the veggies were a good touch. 2. Banana Bajji ($13) - This was really good. Not something you see very often and came with a chutney. The outside coating was crunchy and it has a subtle flavor. 3. Rava Dosa ($14) - So crunchy and fulfilling. You can never go wrong with a rava dosa. 4. Malai Kofta ($16) - Was pretty standard. It comes with like 2/3 big balls of Kofta. I preferred the other dishes but this is good too. (also a little bit on the sweeter side). 5. Paneer Kulchan ($16) - This was really good. They suggested this as a spicy dish (it wasn't that spicy tbh) The veggies were really yum. My whole family enjoyed this dish. 6. Dal Tadka ($14) - A good classic Dal Tadka. Was yummy and exactly what you would expect. 7. Plain Naan ($4) - Standard naan. 8. Onion Kulcha ($7) - This took so long to come out and was doughy. I would NOT recommend this. Maybe it just needed more time to cook. 9. Gulab Jamun Ice Cream ($10) - Standard. Also, it took forever to get their attention here. The onion kulcha I ordered was taking so long to come, that I just ate my meal with the naan and rice & was full my the time it came. We couldn't get their attention to ask about it or even ask for more water. We also ordered a filter coffee with the dessert, and it was taking so long. I know that they were busy, but they should have warned us about the wait time for certain items. Overall, good food, high prices, good quantity, & subpar service.
