We've ordered this to go three times in the last month and a half so I guess it may be a post partum craving and it's just that good. Their butter chicken is delicious and creamy just like it should be and the masala dosa was so good I can't will definitely get it again. My husband has more spice tolerance than I do so he orders his a little spicier and I love that you can ask for mild or spicy with most items. Their naan was fresh and soft. Only negative is one time we did order bullet naan and got butter naan, but it was still delightful. The other day I was craving Indian food and Desi Diatrict was close enough to make a stop and try it. More of a fast food Indian restaurant that takes inspiration from a wider Indian subcontinent. I tried Somosas and they are sooo good! Sauces are Done right. I choose a very spicy Chicken Tika Masala and it was great. I think I overestimated my capability of handling spice heat but that's on me. It was delicious. Next time I'll probably opt for spicy and not extra ha ha otherwise I'll need a fire brigade on a stand by. Very curious staff. Lots of Desi (Indian) people which is an indication that native peoples approve and like this place. Always a good sign. The only criticism I can offer is that ordering food is a bit complicated if you are not acquainted with the terms and dish names. read more

Finding Indian food that's good without the intense heat is one of the hardest things for me. I absolutely love the spices but my body, unfortunately, can't tolerate spiciness. The staff went above and beyond to help me out. The chef, Vishal, was able to make the Palak Paneer non spicy for me and it was amazing. Went down great with no issues. Chicken Pakoda Guntur Kodi Vepudu Tanduri Chicken Chicken Tikka Juicy Chicken Mandi Biryani Chickoo Shake Mango Shake Irani Chai Onion Samosa Chilli Bajji (Mirchi) All the items were great. Especially mirchi bajji was epic. Tastes exactly like how it is in India. Irani Tea was great. Even better than Hyderabad house tea. Guntur Kodi Vepudu is a must try. Onion samosa is very good. I think Cummingites found a new place so they dont have to go all the way to Dunwoody for chai and snacks. This place can be compared with Chowrasta. Similar eatery/seating and ordering style. But the food is way better here. I had a bad experience with Chowrasta everytime I went there. Wrote a seperate review on it so not discussing here. May it be a guilty pleasure but it is worth it. Horrible experience!! Drove one hour to reach Desi District.. There is no place to sit and you have to fetch your own table. So basically you have to wait until someone else is finished eating and you are standing next to them so that the table is not taken away by someone else.. Food is just average and there are many other better restaurants in Atlanta/Alpharetta/Cumming area better than DD. If they have to survive in this market, they need to improve everything! read more
