This is my go-to Indian restaurant in Cumming. I've never eaten at the restaurant, so I can't speak to the service, but I order in when the craving hits and they're always on point! For starters, I would highly recommend the lamb chops. They are so tender, nice and spicy, and the green chutney that comes with it is delicious. It's by far my most favorite menu item. For mains, I've tried so many dishes, I can't chose just one to rave about! I love their chicken tikka masala, butter chicken, chole bhature, chicken dum biryani, bhindi masala, bhagara bhaingan, andhra chicken curry, goat dum biryani, and their chili garlic naan. I just love how they can take recipes from different parts of India and deliver so well! The menu items I've tried from my family's home state reminds me of my moms cooking growing up instead of just a restaurant dish. It's so comforting. They were so kind at this restaurant. This was my first time trying Indian food and Me and my sister came here with no prior knowledge of anything. It was so delicious and we got to try several things on the menu and it cost $46 dollars with two entrees, several orders of bread, two deserts, an appetizer and their mango drink. Wow the food is absolutely delicious! My daughters love ordering from here. They usually get butter chicken and chicken tiki masala. I ordered the tandoori chicken and chickens biryani and everything was outstanding! There are many places to get amazing Indian food in our area but so far this place has been the best in my opinion. I always get the paneer biryani here and usually it's pretty good. Sometimes it's inconsistent but overall good. I do wish they added some veggies into the paneer biryani. The Gobi Manchurian is also usually good but even more inconsistent than the Biryani. The most recent time I got it there was way too much Ketchup. The mango lassi is good -- very sweet and creamy. Never again from Bawarchi Cumming. Ordered twice in the past week for two big events @ home for the Christmas season. The two large curry orders had barely any meat in them, trays filled with nothing but gravy (Indian curry soup). Specifically, for two trays (Gongura mutton curry and Andhra chicken curry) each tray about $100 each, barely had one pound of meat (mutton or chicken) in each, that's like two pounds of meat for $200, sucks right! And this is the second time in two week, the first experience was even worse, with two large trays. My bad actually. Tried here first time. We travelled from NJ and wanted to try biryani in Atlanta.. bawarchi has a big name everywhere , and hence ordered here. . I was surprised they do not have chicken fry biryani . They just had regular biryani and it tasted very average . It was dryyy and choked while eating. Flavor wasn't that good. The chicken chilly/pepper was better . Spice level wasn't as much as I expected . Knowing by their name, I expected better biryani and chicken . I ordered on phone and the order was ready in 15 mins. This is the only place I ever order Biryani from! My go to order is the Vijayawada Chicken Biryani or what I like to call the chicken 65 Biryani. I usually order the family pack which has a sufficient amount for 5-6 people to eat. They give plenty of chicken and it is overall super flavorful and the right amount of spiciness. I recommend placing an order beforehand and then picking it up since this spot tends to get pretty busy! Can't wait to come back for some mouthwatering biryani and try the other ones! read more

This restaurant was very nice. I was nervous coming in here because I know nothing about Indian cuisine. At first it was a bit hard because I'm bad with accents but they were very patient with me. I got the lamb curry with egg at the very bottom of the menu and it was sweet and semi spicy. Delicious. My girlfriend got chicken something and tbh eh we're completely different flavors, but so good. We both got Mild slickness but it had a nice tolerable kick to it. We got to try something very similar to bread pudding, I'm sorry I don't know the name. It was delicious. We thought the waiter was gonna hate us for our lack of any knowledge but he was so nice and laughed with us. NEW FAVORITE RESTAURANT!!! My sister and I went for a last minute dinner plan one night and it was the best food I've had in a while. I was really nervous because trying foreign food can be really nerve wracking sometimes but they did not disappoint. Not only did the food taste fresh and delicious but the server helped us learn how to pronounce certain things and even blessed us with his favorite choice dessert! The food was so filling for the portion sizes!!! The prices were amazing two, a dessert, an appetizer, two bowls of different curry's, two bowls of rice, and two different breads that came in large amounts for two people. Just a note to the owners of Bawarchi. Please consider making some changes to the spice levels of your menu since your restaurant is in Cumming Georgia and not kadapa. A lot of us who have lived here for a long time appreciate the flavors but not the intense spice. Also most kids who are raised here aren't used to astronomical spice levels either. My husband and I love Indian food but we don't have many options where we live; so, we look forward to finding a good Indian restaurant when we travel. We happened to come across this place online and decided to try it. When we pulled up, it didn't look like it was going to be what we envisioned since it looked more like a fast food restaurant. But don't judge the outside like we did because we were pleasantly surprised. There is a line for pick-up orders and take away bucket meals BUT! The food was delicious and fresh. We ordered some plain naan and garlic naan bread. I ordered the shrimp biryani which was so good! My husband took the waiter's suggestion and ordered the chicken gongura. We were a little nervous that it would end up being too spicy since the waiter asked if my husband could handle some spice but it also was delicious! The flavor had a smoky type taste to it and it definitely had a kick, but it was very tolerable and enjoyable. My husband said he was very happy he decided to change his order to the waiter's suggestion. I wish I took a better picture of the food before we started eating it, but it was just that good! Biryani is their primary product. First time I came to this restaurant I ordered goat dum biryani, the taste is real good. I tried for second time and the taste is different. My third try tasted good again. Then I came back for the fourth time and guess what, the biryani is bland, no taste and it feels like I'm eating a plain rice. They are inconsistent with the flavor. Another thing I noticed, there are more rice than goat in my fourth try. The first three tries is like a balance of protein and carbohydrates. Bawarchi you failed in your food. Service is okay. The restaurant served us dosa with just 1 chutney instead of 4, upon asking they answered that the other 3 chutneys cannot be made because the chef's skills are not good enough. When we asked how can we eat with 1 chutney that was not even tasty , the guy served us sambhar and masala potato (an extra $2.99) which are not at all good. Most horrible Indian food you can ever find in Atlanta. We ordered family pack chicken biryani and it was ice cold from inside and on the top warm white was sprinkled. There was little to no chicken pieces. The briyani was more like khicidi (masala rice). Their menu is way too over priced. Even their gravy size for the price is too small. So far any item we tried here gets zero stars rating from us. Its better to drive 20 mins more and get food from Biryani Pot where you can get quality food and service. Don't come here with same expectation as you will go to Sandy Spring's Bawarchi. Somebody start a petition to close this restaurant or atleast change their chef. read more
