The lead server asked us to order quickly, incorrectly placed our order which led to our main dish arriving 1 hour after it was ordered after several check-ins, and was not friendly to say the least. The staff lack self esteem. If you come for brunch, focus on the karahi and grill items. The halwa puri lacked flavor. The bihari kebab was very good. Cheese balls were very disappointing. Warning to anyone traveling from outside Alpharetta: don't bother. I made a nearly hour-long trip here for a takeout order and was refused service because the kitchen was "at capacity." The kicker? They were still accepting DoorDash orders. When confronted, the staff just said they hadn't turned the tablet off yet. It is incredibly insulting to be told "no" to your face while they continue to pump out orders for an app. It shows a total lack of respect for a customer's effort and zero management of their own kitchen flow. Came in around 3 pm on a Wednesday with my father, and we were the only patrons in the restaurant. The floors were sticky, debris scattered around, and the tables themselves were coated with leftover food from previous guests. Even the plates set on the table were sticky and visibly dirty. This level of neglect points directly to management's lack of basic cleanliness standards and oversight. When we asked our server to explain the difference between two karahis, he could not. This is not the server's fault--it is a failure of ownership and management for not providing proper training. A restaurant that prides itself on specialty dishes should ensure its staff can at least describe them. As for the food, the beef seekh kabab was genuinely delicious, the malai boti tender, and the kandhari naan fluffy. However, the charsi karahi--which they are apparently known for--was bland and flavorless, and the plain rice had an off-putting bleach-like aroma. These issues speak again to poor quality control. Service only worsened as the meal ended. The server sat at the bar while we waited, and after we asked for to-go boxes, he returned with them and promptly went back to sitting instead of offering the check. I had to ask for the bill myself, which came redundantly as both a printed copy and a payment device. The lack of attentiveness reflects poorly not just on the server but on management's failure to train or supervise their staff. For a bill of $73 (half order chicken karahi, goasht khor platter, naan, and rice), the experience was unacceptable. The atmosphere was lifeless--silent, dirty, and uncomfortable. The young server seemed miserable, which again highlights a systemic problem. This is not simply about one employee--it is about an establishment run without pride, care, or professional standards. The shame here lies with the owner and management for neglecting cleanliness, failing to properly train their team, and allowing the overall quality of the restaurant to decline. Tried Namak and really enjoyed it! I got the mango lassi, garlic naan, paneer tikka masala, and the Patahkha Chicken. The chicken was a little on the sweeter side--I usually prefer more savory--but still tasty. The paneer and naan were delicious, and the chai came in the cutest little cup. The menu is a bit limited, but what they do have is solid. The chef was super friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. Overall, a great spot I'd come back to! read more

Our waitress was not very welcoming or friendly initially but I think she warmed up towards the end. They were out of almost everything on the menu we asked for. We were lucky enough to get one mango lassi before they ran out of that too. We ordered a few Punjabi samosas and they were very tasty but the second order was undercooked (included a picture of the raw dough showing from the inside of the samosa). Overall I think the food they actually had available at the time that we were able to order tasted good. The halwa paired with the ice cream is such a good idea. A Pakistani cuisine in the area. We went in the opening days anticipating a different experience. The Interiors are good, with the walls decorated with colorful photos of various places in Pakistan. The place is big, and the silverware is decent. The tables and chairs are comfortable. The service is good with knowledgeable staff. The Naan is soft and fluffy. The Masala Papad is ok. The Pathaka Chicken is not new but Chicken with some spicy hot sauce. Paneer Nihar stands out of all the dishes. It's unique and very tasty. This review is only for a delivery of the food of Namak restaurant. I cant talk about the ambiance of the restaurant since I have not dined in person. I used to a delivery service and got my food timely. With a toddler and bad weather, dining at home seemed great option and to enjoy this good food. The restaurant Namak is fairly new. And I hope to go in person in the future. We ordered daal which is a lentil dish almost like soup but you can eat it with naan or bread. We also ordered chapli kabob which are almost like smash burger Pattie's with great season. Lastly we ordered chicken mai boti which is tender pieces of chicken that are lightly seasoned and grilled. All three things were great and I appreciated the food of this restaurant. The tamarind sauce on the side was great as well as the green pepper yogurt sauce was nice. read more

Took my beautiful bride out to a great Pakistani restaurant in Alpharetta, Georgia, the other week for our date nite. Namak did not disappoint! The fragrant atmosphere immediately takes you to an exotic locale! We ordered the Chicken Mandi, Mutton Chana Gosht, and Cheese Naan. Everything was excellent and flavorful! Portions were large, and we had a large bag of leftovers to bring home. The Kashmiri Naan was amazing and delicious! Very highly recommended! Very rarely am I extremely honest with restaurant staff when it's talking about the food. I'm a people pleaser and tend to say "the food was great" without much comment. That was not the case here. This restaurant is genuinely amazing, and while it's my first time having Pakistani food, I'm not sure I will find better anywhere else. I live nearby so I just walked from my neighborhood. The ambience initially was quiet. It's only just opened so there wasn't much people inside other than the staff, who were extremely nice and very patient to somebody like me who is as white as chalk and have terrible spice tolerance (working on it!). The server was extremely helpful at picking out foods that were their specialty and Pakistani, which I appreciate a lot, and unfortunately I believe I didn't ask the name, sorry! For drinks they recommended limo pani podina, which tasted great! A bit sweeter than I expected but also a bit sour, really good combination of mint and lime. Very refreshing after a long walk. Also tried the mango mojito which was even better, and probably what I'll get next time around. Highly recommend the mango! The appetizer was Punjabi samosa bites, which had fantastic dough and were cooked extremely well. I'm not knowledgeable about sauces but one of the two made it taste phenomenal. Highly recommend! For entrees, I was recommended charsi karahi and the chef made it mild for me, which made it not too spicy so I didn't tear up! The chicken was extremely moist and flavorful, and I adored their house special kandhari naan that I had on the side. I might prefer it over my usual craving for garlic naan, especially the crispy bottom it had that had some flavor left over from whatever oven was used to cook it. It's also rare to find a place where the chicken isn't dry. That being said, the white meat was still a bit more on the drier side than the dark meat. The staff offered a free dessert for taking pictures since it was their opening week, so I tried the Shahi Gulab Jamun. Didn't expect the nuts, but otherwise was really well cooked with a really nice syrup. Highlight of the night. Will definitely be coming back as soon as I can. I'm glad to have a place in the Windward area that has spicy food and fantastic drinks that aren't alcoholic! Some minor issues: -- Some confusion between hours? It just opened but the website hours conflicted with Yelp hours, which said closed on every day but Friday, but also conflicted with Apple listed hours. As far as I know they're open every day but Monday! -- Wasn't sure the place was open when I first walked by. Went to Namak's soft opening. The restaurant has a small and intimate feel with modern decor. They were quite busy and had not yet perfected their check in process. We were told there would be a 30 minute wait and to have a seat on the bench near the door. They did not take our names down. Two groups that came in after us were told there would be a 5-10 minute wait and they were seated before us. After bringing this up to their attention, we were seated immediately. There were no physical menus. Instead, a QR code is on the table. After ordering, it took another 20 minutes for our food to be served. I also ordered a mango lassi which took just as long to come out. The naan was soft and warm. The chicken boti was juicy and very flavorful, however, it was room temperature. The Afghani Pulao was delicious. A good combination of sweet and savory. After dinner, the waitress took our payment table side using a handheld tablet. However, we were not given a physical bill to review and did not know how much the bill was until after our cards were charged. Even though the service was not up to par, I'm still giving the restaurant 4 stars because it was a soft opening and the flavors of the food were enjoyable. My wife and I visited this restaurant yesterday based upon the ratings and recommendations. I am sorry to say but this restaurant is an insult to Pakistani cousine. We ordered Nihari and Palak Chicken. Nihari had nothing to do with nihari by taske and used low quality meat. A bad nihari usually edible if you add lemon but this one was simply toxic. Palak is probably the easiest thing to cook. The chef in this restaurant is inspired by Indian youtubers and instead of chopping spinach grinded it in a mixer to a paste and added chicken and whatever spices at the time of serving. Palak had no spec of chicken taste. I am sure they can continue to sell this stuff as most Indians don't know how to cook but if they ever want to become something, learn to cook first. Everyone can and does these short-cuts in cooking. The majic is when you cook Pakistani food the way it should be. Nihari can be cooked and served for 2-3 day as it tases the best the next day so there's no excuse for such toxic tasless nihari but vegetables can be cooked in a very small time with original recipes. If you are sincere to quality of your food, go taste Shalimar Restaurant (poorly managed but great food) in Fremont , CA for Palak dishes or obviously Chicken Tikka. I actually fly to San Jose when I really feel like eating Pakistani food. Sorry guys, your food was best defined as toxic as it was neither a pleasure eating nor the after effects were worth mentioning. The service was superb and the place was way above average in terms of cleanliness and decoration. Great place for those who don't know the Pakistani food and comparing this junk with Indian food... The one start is for the ambiance and service . But the food is horrible . The name of the place is Namak but they don't use it in their food . Pakistani cuisine is all about taste , this place is not . They are just giving you nice silverware and fancy glassed drinks instead of regular desi restraunts using plastic cups or regular glasses . The food is setup nicely in expensive plates and the whole Shabang is great but when u take the first bite it all goes down the drain . The prices were high end aswell . It felt like a ripoff after not eating at all . We left without eating anything . Only ate one naan without anything because we were just very hungry . I passed by an saw a new restaurant opened. I stopped in for takeout. The menu looked great but not too much the food. I ordered the Chicken Saag and asked for it spicy. Not sure what happened but the entire dish was bland and tasted like canned chopped spinach as well as the chicken was overcooked. I think they forgot to add as it said that flavorful combination of ingredients. I also ordered the masala papadom and there was no masala. There also was a container of tomatoes and a lot of onions which I'm not sure what that was for. The Garlic naan was actually good. For $24 I was really hoping this was going to be a flavorful lunch but was disappointed. Hopefully they can change this around since they just opened. read more

Thank goodness we didn't listen to the hateful people who gave this place bad reviews. My husband and I loved it! Talked on phone for like 10 minutes and gave my order just for lady on phone to tell me I had to pay in person or pay with my credit card on phone for them to start my order. Also gave me an option to order online (what I eventually did through grubhub). 1 hr after placing the order online I was told they cancelled my order. Probably didn't want to honor their 9$ off coupon for 50$+ order. Cheapskate restaurant. Lol should have realized and not even placed an order the moment I was told I needed to give them my credit card over the phone for them to start my order. Out of the hundreds of restaurants I've ordered from, never had a restaurant besides this one demand payment over the phone. On top of that, majority of their food is mid and overpriced.
