They were busy on weekend by Senthil the manager u accommodated our request to make 90mm dosa. The podi idly, dosa and the 3 Chutneys that go with it was really good. Great dosas and mini idlis. The sambar and chutneys are all good too. It's constantly busy, but the staff do a good job of clearing the tables and keeping the place clean. The thalis and chole bhutara seemed popular along with the fresh orange juice as well. read more

Came in for breakfast. Everyone recommended trying their masala bene dosae. It was the closest to the Bangalore style benne dosae. Highly recommend trying it. Also ordered chow chow bath. I feel the food is a little greasy but definitely worth it. The portions are also quite big for the dosae as well. read more

Came to Chutneys and had such a great experience! The food was amazing and really tasted just like home. They had a live pani puri station which was such a fun touch--the pani puri was super fresh and flavorful. The benne karam dosa was made fresh, perfectly crispy, and loaded with flavor. The schezwan fried rice had just the right kick of spice and was really satisfying. We also got a mango lassi, which was refreshing and the perfect balance of sweet and creamy. Even though it was crowded, the staff handled the lines and service very smoothly, so everything felt organized and welcoming. Poor customer service and very rude front desk staff. I understand Saturday was a busy day, but since we paid for the food, they should show basic courtesy to the customers. The sambar flavor has changed and is not up to the mark. I usually come here for the coffee, but I felt the coffee was also not hot. Overall, our recent experience was very poor; even the friends I brought from Tampa felt the same way. Tried Come to Chutneys in Cumming and absolutely loved it! The Rava Masala Dosa was perfectly crisp with a delicious potato filling, and the Benne Dosa was excellent too -- especially with the choice of 3 different chutneys. We also ordered the Gobi Manchurian, which was honestly one of the best we've had in the area. What impressed us even more was how quick the service was despite the restaurant being very busy on a Friday evening. The filter coffee is heavens. So good. Ask for strong coffee and add some extra sugar if needed. The best filter coffee I have tasted in a very very long time. Reminded me of Tamil Nadu filter coffee. But had a pretty bad experience with vada. It came with a 100 peppercorns. There are atleast 4 to 5 pepper corns in every bite. Next issue is chutney. They show pictures of items served in banana leafs, with 3 to 4 different kind of chutneys in it and priced the items accordingly. But what you get is a mediocre coconut chutney in a tiny cup with very oily, and sugary sambar that feels like they made it using some instant sambar mix. At least peanut chutney or ginger chutney needs to be given. Or at least 2 chutneys to be given. This is pathetic. Dont trust the pictures. Pictures promised a michellin star food but what I got was worse than carelessly made streetfood. Tried Rava dosa also. It was very thick and undigestable. I make rawa dosa at home and it is 100 times better. I wouldnt even their rawa dosa even if you pay me for it. People are friendly and ambiance is good. Driving while on my way to hike, dined for the Saturday brunch and this casual dining restaurant was so packed. Tried their thatte idli and benne karam masala dosa served with 3 chutneys and a small bowl of sambhar. Honestly thatte idli was decent soft and complimented well with coconut chutney and the tomato one. The benne dosa had bland aloo masala and overpowering ghee taste. All I could taste was just ghee and it was not quite a pleasant taste. The menu has so many options to choose from which confused me at first. The staff was sweet and helpful though in helping me what to order as per my palate. Their thali was a steal deal but I didn't order it, not sure how was it. read more

I'm surprised i'm the first one reviewing this on Yelp! This place is relatively new, but its popular and amazing! I would say all the dishes are about $10-20. I heard they are known for their chutneys and the chutneys are all great. I tried the masala dosa and the regular thatly idli. (Sp?) I am glad I didn't get the thatly butter idli, because it probably would've been too heavy for me. The service was excellent. It is a walk-up counter where you order and then they call your order number. Taking to-go boxes/bags is also self-service so you can grab them whenever you need. This place came highly recommended by my South Indian friends. We tried the Thatta idli (larger than usual idli) with ghee and a peanut crumble and the usual chutneys. My husband loved it. I had the Rava Dosa with potatoes and the chutneys, which was wonderful too. Oh yes, and the South Indian coffee. I'll say the place was clean, efficient and had a good pick up counter. Went to this place 2 x to give it a fair evaluation. The Dosas are sparse and expensive compared to another local place called Spice and Slice. The cheese Doasa, had hardly any cheese, and the rest of the ingredients was not enough. I have had Dosas for 20 years. This place that specializes in vegetrian, misses the mark. read more
