To charge customers for an amount of money they didn't agree to paying beforehand? Customers should be allowed to determine what they feel is a fair tip based on the service they get and their experience. Also by automatically guaranteeing your waitstaff a 20% tip, they are not required to maintain any standard of service to your customers. To add injury to insult the food is mediocre at best. My cheeseburger had no seasoning and my friend said her sandwich was "just ok." Prices are also fairly high. We have no reason to go back. read more

Stand out dishes were the chilaquiles and wiseguy benny. Everything was packed with flavor and the menu leaves an option for any mood you're in. We tried the carnitas and oh my god was it incredible. My daughter has been bragging about this rest for two months. He told me that he had gone to many cafes in Chicago until He came upon the best coffee in the 6 corners area of Halsted and Milwaukee. Well he found that coffee and brought it to the Southside . Thank you Jesus ! This nice and kind owner gave me a small container of the coffee grounds to make at home which I held on my lap Like gold!! I highly recommend this new spot for breakfast and can't wait to try their lunch and dinner . I literally had 3 cups of coffee! Hostess was really nice when seating us. She greeted us right away and asked if we wanted to sit outside or inside and if we wanted a booth or a table. It was only my teen daughter and I. There was TVs around playing the football games. Anyways, we ordered the 18th street queso, it wasn't spicy at all. Not a fan of the vinegary jalapeños they used to top it off. We had soup with our entree, cream of chicken. It was not creamy at all. It had a lot of flavor though but it was more of a chicken noodle minus the noodle with a splash of cream lol. Not your typical cream of chicken that's for sure. I ordered the yacht club, and my daughter ordered the classic burger. She wasn't a fan of the fries. They were cooked well, they had a good bite while still being soft, but I guess she didn't really like the seasoning?? I don't know. My club was alright. The portions were huge. I didn't finish it but I was able to bless a homeless man on Lagrange and 95th with the remainder of my entree. I probably wouldn't be back. One thing that threw me off is the automatic 20% gratuity that was added to my bill, even though it was only my daughter and I eating here, it's not like we were a party of 5 or more...so be wary of that. The food was delicious and the menu was a nice change from all the typical things you find on every menu in the area. The food portions were generous and they included a cup of soup. Food was delicious and the ingredients seemed to be of excellent quality. The coffee was okay and the service acceptable however nothing to write home about. The sever did the minimum. I will give her the benefit of the doubt because she seemed busy. The restaurant adds 20% to ok checks which is okay as we generally tip that amount. What we did have a problem with however is that restaurant charges more 2.25 per veggie added to an omelet and does not train staff to give a heads up that they will be charged $4.50 for adding a handful of tomatoes and a handful of onion to $20 omelette. They also try to add 3% to all checks ( try because you can ask to have it removed) to offset their costs which is wild because prices are fairly high as it is. In their defense, this is a mom and pop restaurant however as business owners, it's their responsibility to provide for your employees not your customers therefore I highly suggest eliminating the 3% charge all together. read more

We made reservations for their Galentine's Brunch. I was very excited to check the place out. I was pleasantly surprised that they had a parking lot with ample parking. The ambiance was good-friendly, casual. We ordered mimosas the blackberry & cranberry. They were delicious but they were served in these very small mini wine glasses which I found odd as they're usually served in wine flutes and they were $10 each for such a small serving. We placed our order for appetizers and lunch. It took almost an hour to get our food. They kept telling us that the kitchen was working on making food for a larger group and were backed up. However, people who came in & ordered after we did were receiving their orders. The food was not what we expected. The steak sandwich was chewy and fatty. They also skimped on the appetizers. The best part of the meal was the Grand Marnier French toast which we shared as a desert & was delicious! After we were through eating we sat and talked at the table for about 15-20 minutes at which point the manager approached us and informed us there was a 2 hour limit per table. I was so excited to visit this restaurant because I had recently seen it on social media. I felt a sense of racism as soon as I was seated. All eyes were on my sisters and I, like they had never seen any melanin before. Our waitress was extremely short with us and was not friendly at all. She even placed our open straws on top of our menus which is extremely unsanitary since they are open straws with no coverings on them. Once we all discussed how uncomfortable we were all we ordered was a drink then we paid our bill and left. I would say have the staff take a course on cultural competence so that they can give their potential on being the best serving staff not only to their own race but to the many other races or ethnicities that may visit your establishment in the near future. Not impressed. The food was OK. My wife ordered us two salads and asked for extra dressing on the side. This was not included in our take out order. We also ordered a Ruben to share and the sandwich was scrawny, about the size of a McDonalds kids cheeseburger. To add insult, they used the heel from the loaf of marbled rye, making it look even more "burger" like. No complaints about taste or quality. The containers they use for their take out (salad and sandwich) are pretty big, so when you open it up, your first reaction is "where's the rest?" my wife and i have been to hashtag about 10 times since they opened and everytime we go we leave after enjoying just a fantastic meal. the menu is quite large and there are so many delicious items to pick from.my favorite sandwich is the sloppy joseph which is as close as you can get to a sloppy joe and it is just delicious. we love soup and our favorite is on wednesday when they have stuffed green pepper which is the best soup i ever had in my life. our biggest problem is deciding if we want to go to hashtag for breakfast,lunch or dinner.the wait staff is second to none and the owner nick greets you while enjoying your meal and you can tell he appreciates our business.looking forward to going back.hashtag gets 10 out of 10 stars.try it you will love it. read more
