My wife and I came in today for our first time to meet an old friend and we had a wonderful experience. The food was great and our waiter Caesar was awesome! The restaurant was clean and had a wonderful feel to it. The Bloody Mary bar was awesome and the mimosas were great as well. We will be back next time we are in town. Time for an updated review. We brought visiting family into town in early January, excited to give them the Hash Kitchen experience. Overall our experience was fine, but many changes have been made to the menu. Several of our favorite dishes have been cut or decently reworked, which takes away from the excitement and decadence of the Hash Kitchen experience. What a bummer. Our server was fine. She was a little MIA in between taking our order and the food arriving, so we were a bit desperate for refills. I enjoyed my hash grand slam. The bacon, extra crispy, is delicious! The silver dollar pancakes are way too big to be called silver dollar, but still tasty. My spouse's croissant burger was fine, but didn't have the characteristics of a truly smashed burger. Overall the lack of vegetarian options for the menu is a bit disappointing--if you remove the meat would it reduce the price? It's been awhile since I have been to hash kitchen and thought it was time to revisit. I joined the waitlist through their website and it said 15-25 minutes. For a Sunday morning in Peoria that wasn't bad. I received text confirmation to check in when I arrived and we arrived about 20 minutes later. We checked in with the host and they found us on the list and said it was about a 20 minutes later wait. There were numerous people outside as was expected for a Sunday around 11:45. We were seated with in 20 minutes and immediately ordered the build your own Bloody Mary. We chose jalapeño vodka and cilantro lime, spicy Bloody Mary mix, then we got busy at the bar! So many good things to add, a little horseradish, a little pickle juice, olives (all kinds) Sun-dried tomatoes, pickled okra, cheese, chorizo, salami. Finished it off with some delicious bacon, fried cheese ravioli, fried jalapeño poppers, even a meatball. These things were masterpieces. Supplemented all that spice with the banana split French which was among the best French I have had. The service was great and the meal was delicious. Great job. We'll be back and soon. read more

Love coming here for the Bloody Mary bar and the good vibes. This last visit, there was a little hiccup at the BYO bar (tragic, because what's brunch without meatballs and toasted ravioli?). We ordered drinks and the food came out first. The server (Luis B) and manager went into action when they realized what had happened and quickly turned things around. We arrived just after they opened on Sunday morning. Two guys walked in right before us and sat at the bar. The bartender was talking to them while we waited and waited to be acknowledged. I had such high hopes for this place. My partner and I love brunch. We're kind of "brunch snobs". But this place did not live up to the hype. 1. Out server was kind of rude, it wasn't until after they were closing that she had a little more pep in her step. I get it, I'm a server.. I get tired too but that never makes it ok to be rude to my tables. 2. It was 95 degrees outside and they had all of the doors open and multiple guests were complaining about how hot it was. I was told "they're doing the best we can" like no. Close the door and crank up the AC, it's not rocket science. Having the doors open while having the AC going on a hot day doesn't cool the place down. 3. The server gave my partner a margarita with no salt on the rim. Didn't even ask if she wanted anything on the rim. And when we looked for her to ask for a cup with salt on the rim, she was nowhere to be found. Which was a common occurrence, she just kept disappearing for long periods of time. 4. Our food kept getting made wrong, our app was supposed to have hollandaise in the side but apparently they put it on so they had to remake it so that took forever. Our eggs were not cooked right. They cooked poached eggs until they were hard, basically gave us hard boiled eggs. And lastly, the food wasn't that great, doesn't have a lot of flavor. Just overall not a good experience. We had a great experience here! The host (who I'm assuming was general manager or at least shift manager) was very kind and personable upon seating us and offered us a promo! The server, Lola, was quick, friendly and attentive! The food was amazing - my husband got the Americano Scrambler and the biscuits and gravy and I got the chili relleno hash. All plates came out quickly and hot and delicious! We also got a Party of Two Sk8er Boi cocktail that was great! I had just dropped someone off in the Glendale/Peoria area and was hungry for breakfast so I found this on YELP and it was really a great spot. I had a make your own scramble with ground sausage, onions and goat cheese and it was a great medley. I loved the large coffee mugs as well as I like a fair amount of coffee and hate waiting for the waiters to come around and refill. I also decided to try a blueberry mimosa and it was good. I did ask if it was flavoring or a puree and they said it was purée but it was really just syrup. Still, it was good and had five or so blueberries in the glass for a nice touch. I sat at the counter and as the morning progressed, it was getting more crowded so it is obviously a local favorite. I understand there are a few other locations and hope they make one closer to where I love as the menu looks great and I want to try more items like carnitas. Overall, it was a very good experience with the service and the food. I would recommend trying it out for sure. I went here yesterday for brunch, it has been a few months since I have been. The food was terrible. I ordered the same thing I always get the tamale Benedict. The tamales were not in cakes and there was very little and definitely not even enough for even a whole tamale. The pork looked like cat food chopped up small and no flavor. The poached eggs were the smallest I have ever seen. I will not be back my stomach was so upset. Whoever is cooking needs to read the menu again and taste their own food. My boyfriend and I were visiting friends and had an amazing time last time we came to Hash Kitchen, so much so that we specifically planned this trip around going to brunch. Especially since they offer a Saturday all you can drink mimosas. While our server was great and our mimosas were amazing, we ordered food and only half of our order arrived. We waited patiently and expecting it to just be busy and kept drinking. That wait ended up being well over an hour for one plate. This is with us reminding our server multiple times that our full order was still missing. Our server was nice to replace our plate that had gotten cold at this point. Unfortunately, our overall experience was completely brought down by this and made it hard to enjoy the food that was brought or the bottomless mimosa experience we had ordered. We were also placed on the patio which wasn't an issue at first as we didn't expect to be that long. With the long wait we ended up having to sit in the sun while still waiting for our food. We ended up going to a nearby drive thru cause we just were put off by the overall experience. It was explained to us that it was the fault of the kitchen. We had to wait a while 5 or 10 minutes despite the fact that there were several vacant tables. The music was a little loud too.
