The dress code is casual. The service here is excellent. Very attentive yet not intrusive. Also, there is a speak easy behind the phone booth. I have been there and it was a cool experience but it's been a while. They offer lunch and happy hour menus Monday thru Friday. The drinks on the happy hour menu are really a good price. I came during happy hour (lunch ends when happy hour begins) and ordered from the dinner menu. We shared (pics attached) the chicken Alfredo, chicken Parmesan and an Adrian's Art Pizza without the ricotta cheese and ranch swirl. Everything was excellent. If I had to offer one bit of constructive feedback, pasta portion sizes could be a little more generous for the price. If you are in Pearland, you have to check this place out.

The person who took out order was friendly. But the coffee! el Cafe de Lola is a must here! I would recommend getting a cup and just relax and talk. The food was good the green salsa was a hint of spice and very limey. Over all, it was good and would come back however it does feel like something I can make at home but if you don't want to cook you come here for brunch!

After standing there for about 10 minutes with still no help, we finally sat down in the entrance lobby to continue waiting. A waitress then came over with an attitude--not to apologize for the lack of service, but to lecture me that "next time" I needed to make sure I stayed there the whole time and waited to be seated. No, thank you. If your front-of-house staff isn't acknowledging guests or managing the entrance properly, don't lecture customers who have already been waiting patiently. At that point, we left. There are too many places that actually appreciate their customers for me to spend money somewhere that treats people this way. We will not be returning to this location.

The place is cozy in size similar to Andy's Home Cafe and there is a bar for solo diners to eat at. When you walk in, the first thing you notice is a steam table that serves a lunch special with multiple options. It is not manned all the time because customers may want to order from the menu instead. The prices here are cheap, even less than Frank's or Telwink nearby. My catfish and eggs were $11.99 and it was only $1.50 to add an extra egg. The catfish may have been swai though given how mild it was, but the portions were comparable to the diner competitors. You also have to season the eggs and grits yourself like at other diners. As I was eating, customers started strolling in for lunch. The bad thing about the place is the steep entrance and exit to the parking lot. If you have a low car like mine, you'll definite scrape the bottom no matter what angle you take. So I don't think I will ever return despite the food value here.

We were not expecting the food to be as good as it was because we chose this location because of its proximity to our home, the price was very reasonable and the reviews were a 3.8. Had the reviews been a 3.4 and lower we would've probably kept looking. I ordered a waffle combo and I had 2 sausage patties and 3 over medium eggs and they were able to accommodate me with sugar free syrup that was really good. My wife had the twice over (I may have the name wrong) but it was ham, 2 sausage patties, 2 over medium eggs, and toast with sliced tomatoes. Our food was amazingly delicious given the low price, the smallness of the restaurant, and the lack of a more welcoming vibe, not the service but the atmosphere. Don't get me wrong, it was chill but in a weird kind of half warming way if that makes sense. In a nutshell, I would still recommend this place and will go back. Enjoy!

Saturday breakfast with the fam brought us to the heart of Friendswood. Some of my family lives…read moreclose by so they suggested this spot which was new to me. It is located in a strip of businesses and parking plentiful even with a peak breakfast crowd. This location is one of three located south of Houston. The restaurant itself isn't very big so tables are pretty close together. They also have bar seating if you're eating solo, but no alcohol as far as I could tell. Customer service was ok. Our guy was friendly but there were things left off the order and we had to repeat requests a few times. I started off with coffee. I like that they creamer choices at the table that was also stocked really well. The menu is pretty extensive and there is something to please everyone here. They have a whole page showing they can make your eggs in every which way. They truly did cover all the bases as far as having every variety of breakfast you can think of. This place stays open until 2 so they also have a page of lunch options as well. My family got a variety of different things and not one complaint was heard. I went for something a little different called the Eagle's Nest. It's basically a scramble. It had diced ham, bacon, sausage, peppers, onions and tomatoes scrambled with eggs, hash browns and topped with cheese and white gravy. I specifically asked for sausage gravy as an upgrade but didn't get it. I wasn't about to waste food so I kept it. I think sausage gravy would have made this dish elite. The regular white gravy had to be doctored up with a little more salt and a lot more black pepper. I love a mish mash of food all in one bite so this dish was good once I added my little flair. It came with a side of your choice of bread and I went with sourdough. It was weird that they serve the bread dry and toasted and do not even offer butter unless asked. Overall, we enjoyed our meal here. The minor misses pale in comparison to the good. I would most definitely come back if in the area as this immediate stretch of 518 doesn't have alot of unique options like Pelican.

Did I already mention it was a slow night at the bar? My friend thought the listed prices on the menu were high for a food truck but they seem average compared to the restaurants I've been to in third ward. Ordered a catfish basket which had a large filet and a lot of fries for 15 dollars. The catfish was seasoned well and I wasn't sure if it was swai since the flesh tasted mild. The filet had a decent amount of fat near where the collar would be. I enjoyed it well enough to order this again should the truck ever come back to midtown.

We went on a Friday as this place was a great location, walking distance from our downtown hotel. The first thing I tried were the falafels, which were dry and tasted old. I was a bit disappointed. My boyfriend wouldn't even finish 1. Next we tried our plates. The plates were packed with food, which was great for the price. They ran out of regular hummus, but my lamb with the spicy hummus and rice was good, the lamb was tender, and I loved the veggies in the rice. The lentil salad was also really good. My boyfriend's chicken breast was pretty dry, the only way we could eat it was with hummus. Overall, the place is good. I'd go again if I were in downtown Houston, the lamb and rice and lentils were great, but I would avoid the chicken breast and falafels.
