My first stop back in Texas after three years was Lupe Tortilla, and it could not have been a better choice. The fajitas were absolutely amazing--perfectly seasoned, sizzling hot, and cooked just right. Tender, flavorful, and everything you expect when you think of Texas fajitas done right. The drink was just as on point: refreshing, well balanced, and made with care. Even though the restaurant is currently under construction, the experience did not suffer at all. In fact, the manager came by to check on us and took the time to talk about the renovations, which are expected to be completed by the end of the month. That level of attention and hospitality really stood out. Great food, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere--even mid-renovation. This was the perfect welcome back to Texas, and I will absolutely be back next time I'm in the lone star state! read more

We are still on the lookout for a good Texmex spot in Pearland after coming here. I decided to give this place a shot due to their separate vegetarian menu with plenty of options, but thought the food was just average. They have chips, salsa, and a bean mix as a free appetizer. Our waitress told us soon as soon as we sat down that the beans contain pork. I'm glad she did because we were a table of vegetarians. The salsa was tasty. I opted for the puff taco. The puffy taco is surprisingly cheap for two very large puffy tacos. The taco is crispier than a Taco bell chalupa and was filled with lettuce, tomato, cheese and black bean. I would like to share my experience from yesterday, as it was very disappointing. It was my birthday, and I chose your restaurant to celebrate because we truly enjoy your fajitas. We were a group of 13 people, and I called in advance to confirm if we could be seated together around 7:30 PM. I was told that reservations were not available and that it was walk-in only, which I understand. However, the way I was spoken to on the phone felt very rude and dismissive, as if nothing could be done for us. We arrived at 7:15 PM, and I approached the two hosts to request a table for our group. I was told we would have to wait because of the size of our party and that there were already large groups ahead of us. When I asked about the wait time, one of the hosts (a young man with braids) told me it would be 45 minutes. I then noticed them laughing, and the other host walked away to tell a server, also laughing, that they had told me 45 minutes. This made me feel uncomfortable and not taken seriously. Even so, since our entire group was already there, I asked to be added to the list. I was told that 7:20 PM plus 45 minutes would put us close to closing time (since the restaurant closes at 9 PM and the kitchen even earlier), and that we would have very limited time. I still agreed to be added to the list while we decided what to do. I have the confirmation text from 7:20 PM. We stepped outside to wait, and surprisingly, at 7:32 PM (just 12 minutes later), I received a message that our table was ready. This made it seem like we were initially being discouraged from staying rather than actually needing to wait. When we went back in, there were many empty tables and only a few occupied ones. Although our server took our drink orders promptly, our food order was not taken until around 8:15 PM. After waiting, the chef came to inform us that there were no beans available and asked if we wanted fries instead. Our food was finally served around 8:45 PM, which was very disappointing. Additionally, those who ordered chicken quesadillas received portions that were extremely lacking in chicken, and we were told it was because the restaurant was closing. Overall, the service was poor, and the entire experience was disappointing. It was especially frustrating and embarrassing, as I had chosen your restaurant to celebrate my birthday with friends. You cannot go wrong with Lupe for Tex Mex. First time visiting the Pearland location as I'm closer to Webster but the food and service were just as good. Just going to put it out there but Lupes always makes the best steak fajitas for any Tex Mex chain- super tender, marinated, and flavorful. We got the family size option medium rare which was around 90 bucks which is pricy but the quality is well worth it. Our waitress was also very attentive and friendly. The wraps consisted of 2 filled with shredded chicken and 1 filled with ground beef. The meal was very delicious in terms of seasoning, sauce, flavor, etc. I should've requested corn wraps as enchiladas usually are. Flour ones are ok, but a little chewy. Other than that, very good here taste wise. The rice was fresh, tasty in a mild manner, comforting and had some onion n bell pepper notes. The beans tasted good, savory, earthy holding a nicely chunky texture, not like smooth paste from a can. The service was very welcoming, friendly and efficient in that area from numerous people I came across working it. I also got a takeout order for later being the 1/2 lb of Beef Fajitas, which as always are so delicious, so tender, so juicy, seasoned so well and have great charbroiled taste on top of all this. Lupe T chain is # 1 for beef fajitas imo with Pappasito's chain being # 2 imo. The fajitas at this place are always so consistent not only in every bite, but every time I ever had them here, dine-in and togo for over a decade. They even warm up so well and those very good sautéed onions with them are just a bonus, not needed to enhance their already amazing taste. First thing is the margaritas are so tart I couldn't drink mine, we ordered 2 regular ritas no salt. We given two ritas in a normal size glass with plenty of room from the rims. When we got the check it says they are large ( which we did not ask for) and zero happy hour discount . We asked the waitress she said that was now only at the bar. On the drink menu that is not present anywhere? The manager came by and said sorry but corporate recently made that decision. We both told them, then this drink menu should not be on the tables! Fed up! I live by this restaurant and have had multiple terrible experiences at this location all due to the arrogant Hispanic gentleman that works the podium. It is a shame you have to interact with him at all, or there is q great chance you could have a wonderful experience. My wife and I love Lupe!!! But going forward, we will drive to Webster!! As always Lupe is a quick easy and nice lunch spot. The food is always good, although I experienced a veggie fajita today with what I consider to be a key ingredient missing. Yes, the Onions! There were no Onions! Filled with colorful, bell peppers of red and green along with poblano's as well. Normally the mushroom has been portobello and it appeared to be a shiitake this time. Nevertheless, it did not affect the flavor of the dish in a negative way. Although. I did miss the onion flavor. Additionally, my dish was served with black beans and they are a hit. The carrots for me were not. Please, please do get the table side guacamole!!! Service is always great, I had the pleasure of being waited on by Serna and she kept the Tea and Lemonades coming, so of course the glass wasn't half full, it was full. Thank you! The kids they are hiring to serve and take orders do not want to be at work and it shows. When we entered into Lupe tortillas PEARLAND at 5:00pm Sat. MARCH 1, we were totally looking forward to a wonderful Saturday night dinner, and the service we we received from the hostess and the MANAGER were nothing less than rude and disrespectful. When we arrived, we gave our phone number and were told that we would be seated in 30 to 35 minutes. At 35 minutes my husband went up and asked the hostess what time we would be seated. The hostess said there were only two groups ahead of us. So he sat in front of the hostess both and waited. At 5:45pm my husband walked a few steps forward from the bar to the hostess stand and asked "how much longer? " He was asked his name, which he gave and the hostess said they took us off the list because we had missed the text that said our table was ready. My husband was sitting literally in front of the booth and had received no text. When I became upset and said we had not received any notification, the hostess demanded I come and "look at the screen and she could prove that the text had been sent." . Again, I looked at our phones and we had received no text. I asked her to get the manager. The manager said sometimes the text don't go through because of the different phone carriers. She did not apologize, but she did get us a table. I asked the manager if I could please have a comment card and she said the server always would give us one. She told us the kitchen was backed up , which we accepted. We are both disappointed that water was not even offered at the beginning of the meal, but eventually, we got it . We had to ask for some extra tortillas, but that was no big deal. I am happy to report the highlight of the meal was our server who was very polite and professional, and the food, which was delicious. At the end of the mail, I asked for the check they brought the check with no comment card. The server was leaving and I said please may I have a comment card. He said we always give it at the very end. I noticed two tables around me who had paid their bill did not have common cards. No worries, we got it. Lupe Tortillas PEARLAND doesn't want our business. I had to shake my head when I looked at the comment card. It said for us to tell the manager if we were not happy, so that it could be resolved while we were still dining. The food here was just "ok"....nothing to get excited over. It reminded me of a frozen tv dinner type of thing. I'm not sure what the deal is with the over abundance in use of black pepper in their dishes. It was definitely over powering and unfortunately took away from the dish itself. The service here was also subpar. Our waiter seemed to move at a slow, "I'll get to it when I get to it" pace. We also had to ask twice for refills on iced tea & tortilla chips after waiting 15 minutes without getting anything. (We typically only have 1glass of a beverage with our meal but because of the heavy use of black pepper in the food , we had to resort to a second glass.) The ambience here reminded me of a mix or mash up of several different kinds of things thrown together.
