Super Burrito
Jason A.

After 18 years I finally stopped in to see what I have been missing. Customer service was top notch from the start so things are already going good for 8am. My son is not a huge breakfast fan so he asked his normal question, " Is the whole menu available?" Yes it is, the day is getting better by the minute. Drink order taken and chips and salsa on the way, I am seriously starving at this point so I can't wait, The chips are warm and crispy and the salsa is served in a bowl twice the size of most places. The first chip hit the salsa at hyper speed and a moment of bliss ensued. The sauce according to my son is the best he has eaten. It was smooth and warm with plenty of flavor. It is a very mild salsa that any palate can handle. The first bowl was gone in record time with a second on the way. The day at this moment is perfect. Now on to our entrees. Entrees : Super Burrito. 8/10 A 12-inch flour tortilla stuffed with 5 oz. of grilled steak fajita, rice, beans, sour cream, lettuce, pico de gallo and guacamole. This is a phenomenal burrito. It is big so you better be hungry. The fajita meat was really tender with an excellent crust. The ingredients are your typical fare in a burrito but the meat gives this one an edge. Pollo Ranchero. - 5/10 Grilled chicken topped with ranchero sauce. Served with rice, beans, pico de gallo and guacamole Let's start with the most important critique, the ranchero sauce needs some serious work. It's not really a sauce, it wants to be but just doesn't get there. It needs more seasoning as well. The chicken was tender but suffered from a lack of seasoning as well. The guacamole, rice, and beans were all really good, which helped save the dish. It wasn't horrible because I left a clean plate, it just needs a revamp. I have seen the good and the bad reviews of Celaya's and I can honestly say that the good outweighs the bad easily. Everyone has different tastes, so the sauce that I love might not be the sauce you love. At the same time that alone doesn't make it bad, just different. The great customer service and salsa makes it a must try if you haven't. Just don't forget to bring any concerns to the management, problems can't be fixed if they don't know about them. Happy Eating!!!

Fantastic Chicken Quesadillas togo!!!
Michael C.

I went here for the first time since I had heard good of their quesadillas from a coworker I had awhile ago. I ordered the Chicken Quesadillas togo and loved them. They were awesome and had a soft gooey feel to them with a great flavor. The chicken was seasoned well and the tortillas, cheese, sautéed onions and lil pieces of bell pepper were great and very fresh in this quesadillas order. These quesadillas were juicy, but not too greasy, just right and made with love and didn't taste like many fake Tex Mex ones. I also plan to order their chicken enchiladas next time I come here. For chicken quesadillas, I love Celaya and El Tiempo, bc they make them really tasty and well seasoned.

Margarita post-sipped

Good food at a reasonable price. Wait staff is friendly and fast. This is where the local Pearland east siders eat. Just had a margarita and an appetizer and was in/out in 20 minutes! Been eating here for years, including breakfast, and this restaurant has never disappointed me.

a plate of food

Service was good. Salsa tasted like straight tomato sauce and needed a lil more salt. I ordered Carne Guisada but instead received chopped up fajita meat in some type of tomato sauce. Carne Guisada is a Mexican dish made with beef stew meat in a nice brownish gravy, not fajita meat. I guess the cook was hoping I wouldn't know the difference. My husband ordered an A La Carte burrito with a combination of beef and chicken fajita, but instead received two separate burritos, one with beef fajitas and one with chicken fajitas. This was our second visit here. The first visit didn't go well either but we decided to give this restaurant another chance. Needless to say, there won't be a third visit.

I have been going to this place for years since I've moved to Pearland and the food is ok. You get what you paid for. But me & my coworkers order some food from here for lunch and not happy with what we found!! Sorry to say we won't be eating there again!! We called them to let them know we found a roach in our food & they told us they were so sorry and that we can get some more food for free. Sorry but no thank you!!

Service was fine. Food was just extremely bland and flavorless. Meat for fajitas was overcooked.

It was just ok. The service was good but the food is really just ok. I feel the food needs to be more flavorful.

Doesn't look like much but it's definitely a bang for your buck. The enchilada plate is super tasty and the salsa perfect.

This building has seen a few owners over the years, but I hope the current restaurant Tacos…read moreToreados will be around for awhile. Visiting here was a very random stop for me. The hunger pangs hit and I just happened to be near this place. I've only seen it in passing but haven't really seen much chatter on the local foodie pages on social media or on here. I arrived around the end of breakfast and there wasn't much of a crowd inside. Parking was easy right out front. I was a little confused at the ordering process. Was it counter service or table service? No one really pointed me in the right direction until my waitress Claudia told me to have a seat and she would be helping me. She did an amazing job from start to finish. I was expecting just a taco joint, but they have lots more to offer on their menu. They have gorditas, tostadas, tortas, burritos, quesadillas, burgers, breakfast items, soup and entrees. They also have your usual drinks options along with agua frescas, shakes, juices, margartitas and beers. I was torn between breakfast and lunch so I decided to try both. I went with the dish that has the same name as the restaurant. Tacos Toreados came with 3 tacos with a protein of your choice on a flour tortillas and what makes these different was that they came with grilled onions and mozzarella cheese. I also went with a bacon and egg taco just so I can really judge the place. What I didn't expect was how massive the tacos were going to be. I got mine with pastor and fajitas. It looked more like a tostada with the toppings covering the whole surface of the tortilla. The fajita and pastor was seasoned beautifully and was very tasty. The onions were sauteed just right but I do like raw onions and cilantro on my tacos a little better. The cheese was a nice addition as well. I barely got through two and on the third I just ate the meat. I saved just enough room to try the breakfast taco which was very good. Washed it all down with a Mexican Coke. This place is very close to my house and I will most definitely be back to make my way through their menu.

They're basically tortillas…read morethat got mugged in a vat of oil, slapped with meat that's been fried until all personality died, and then bullied by salsa so aggressive it's clearly compensating for how dry everything else is. The tortillas? Greasy enough to leave fingerprints on your soul. Crispy on the outside, sure--but in that "I've been sitting under a heat lamp questioning my life choices" way. One bite and oil drips like it's trying to escape the crime scene. The meat is usually overcooked to the point where chewing feels like a personal challenge. Any natural flavor is gone, replaced with "salt + fry + regret." And don't get me started on the salsa: nuclear-level spicy, not because it's nuanced, but because pain is the only thing left to feel. Tacos toreados aren't about balance, craft, or love. They're about chaos. They're the taco equivalent of yelling "¡ÁMONOS!" and making bad decisions at 2 a.m. Delicious? Sometimes. Refined? Never. They exist purely to punish sobriety and reward drunk confidence. Still gonna eat them? Yeah. Proud of it? Absolutely not.

As a Pearland native, I may be biased in saying that Gringo's is the best Tex-Mex restaurant ever,…read morebut honestly I couldn't care less because that's exactly what I believe. Even with the huge crowds they get every day of the week, the food remains high-quality, the service stays quick, and the overall dining experiences are consistently satisfying. I think it's admirable that after all these years of coming here since I was a little girl, they've managed to maintain the same level of quality, and if anything, they've only improved. My go-to favorite is the Amazon Wrap with steak. It's always beautifully presented, the steak is perfectly cooked, and the lettuce, tomato, and other toppings keep it light and refreshing instead of heavy. The tortilla strips inside add the perfect crunch to balance what could otherwise be a chewy wrap. I also love drizzling on the complimentary green sauce that comes with the chips or asking for extra Amazon sauce because both pair with the wrap so well. Truly, there is nothing wrong with this dish, and I've successfully put all my friends onto ordering it. While I usually stick to the Amazon Wrap, Gringo's has plenty of other delicious options, including the steak fajitas, the quesadillas, and even a surprisingly good burger. Overall, Gringo's continues to be a comfort spot for my family and me, and it never fails to deliver. If you want reliable Tex-Mex with great service and consistently good food, this is absolutely the place to go.

Love that they have a DJ right at the front door setting the mood for the place. Service- was good. Our server Savannah managed our large party to best of her ability. The place was pretty full. Half the tables outside did not have any chairs. On a nice day, it's a place to double customers. Food- I got the Basic AF breakfast which was pretty tasty and you get to sample a good amount.
