    Spoiled. Rotten
    Ronald G.

I recently ordered a filet mignon for delivery and received meat that was clearly spoiled. Anyone who has ever cooked steak knows the unmistakable foul odor that spoiled beef spills fills the room. ....To not be able to recognize the smell and feel of spoiled/rotten meat raises serious concerns that the those handling the meat have no idea what they are doing. I spoke with the manager, Dynasty, who apologized but directed me to resolve the issue through DoorDash rather than addressing it directly. While I understand third-party ordering policies, serving spoiled food is a food safety issue that should be handled at the restaurant level immediately. This experience was both concerning and unacceptable. I would strongly recommend reviewing food handling and quality control practices to ensure this does not happen again. -Dr. G

Harvey's is a staple in Tupelo, MS. It balances the vibe of a modern steakhouse with charming Southern service, making it a go-to recommendation for business meals or a nice dinner out. THE FOOD The kitchen consistently puts out solid food. * The Steaks: The steaks are the main draw. On a past visit, the NY Strip had a perfect outer crust and juicy interior. Most recently (Jan 2026), I had the Filet Mignon cooked medium-rare. It was served with a crawfish cream sauce, broccoli, and mashed potatoes, which was filling, comfort food. * Lighter Fare: The Salmon Cobb Salad is generously portioned with sweet salmon and fresh veggies. * Appetizers & Dessert: The menu leans into rich, comforting starters (the Broccoli Bites with cheese and bacon are an award-winning local favorite). For dessert, the MS Brown Butter Cake with ice cream is rich and tasty. THE DRINKS They offer a great selection for the Tupelo area, including a solid bourbon list. I really appreciate their wine flights (three 2-oz pours), which allow you to sample through their red or white offerings. SERVICE The staff here is consistently friendly and well-trained. A special shout-out to Morgan from our most recent dinner--she was professional, attentive, and took care of our table. OVERALL Whether you are there for a steak dinner or just drinks and apps, Harvey's delivers consistent quality food and service.

I stopped at Harveys on my way home from my parents and tried it based on the reviews. Wow! Inexpensive lunch for the atmosphere and service, very pleased! I had the Broccoli Bites and they were really flavorful with light breading. Then The Shrimp and Grits also excellent. Very rich roux without being too spicy. Loved it, can't wait to bring my wife.

I DoorDashed the blackened catfish and I selected my SIDE item. They delivered this (photo below) and told me that when I chose a side, it substitutes the grits it's served on (per the manager). Nice piece of fish and a roll for $27. (Oh and a cup of soup). Management doesn't seem to care. I'm beyond floored. The manager basically hung up the phone after telling me the reason you get a side in the restaurant is the waitress puts it in differently. Are you kidding me? Harvey's do better.

Harvey's is one of my favorite restaurants in Norther Mississippi. I think I previously reviewed the location in Columbus which is very good but I think the Tupelo location may even be a little nicer. Food and service are excellent. Don't miss the broccoli bites. Soooo good.

I haven't been to Harveys in years. My cousins and I were all in town and decided to come here. The last time I came the food was really good. We made a reservation for 6:30 and didn't get seated until 45 minutes to an hour later. It was a busy night, but that was the reason for the reservation. That should have been an indication of how the night was going to go. We finally got seated, put in our appetizer orders. The fried mushrooms were good. My sister ordered spinach dip and the dip was cold. So we just shared my mushrooms. I ordered the seafood pasta which I was excited about trying. The sauce was good but the noodles were so overcooked they were mushy. I was so disappointed bc I was looking forward to a great meal. Now, my cousins and I still had a great time fellowshipping with one another and just enjoying each other's company. I doubt I will be back here the next time I'm in town.

The decorations. Nice place. Everyone was welcoming.

Visit #1: I ordered the Voo Doo Tots and the prime filet. The tots? Okay, these were amazing. Like, I could've just eaten those and been happy. The steak was a solid prime filet--cooked well and enjoyable, even if it didn't quite steal the show from the tots. Visit #2: I tried the Chef's Charcuterie Board (which, plot twist, is served on a plate... not a board) and the Forklift Fried Chicken. The chicken plate was a little disappointing for me. The collard greens and cornbread were definitely "not how momma made them" (kidding... kind of). Still edible, just not memorable. Both visits left me satisfied, but it's more of a "stroll back" than a "run back" kind of place. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, which always bumps a restaurant up a notch in my book. I didn't try one of their Old Fashioneds--apparently what they're known for--but I did go for the Fire of Mordor cocktail. Tequila-based, delicious, and honestly the name alone sold me. Cozy restaurant, and we had reservations both times even though it wasn't packed. Overall, Forklift is a nice spot to land for a good meal in Tupelo.

The service the minute we walked in was attentive, warm and friendly. Even staff who weren't waiting on us wished us a nice meal. And nice it was! My guy and I shared the scallops appetizer, the mixed salad with peach, and the Branzino. Everything was delightful and a symphony to the palate! Prices were reasonable for the quality of food and presentation! Our hostess and waitress was Ryle and she was so polite and warm with her southern charm. The couple we were dining with had the halibut and were easily accommodated when they requested potatoes instead of grits. The restaurant was not busy so we had extra attention. We felt so well cared for and enjoyed the ambiance and delicious food for quite a while. I hope we come back to Tupelo again someday. We will definitely want to return to this place! Oh, and our back waiter was also a nice, courteous and responsive young man who attended to all our needs as well. I give him high praises as well. This time around I had the 16 oz Hand Cut Sirloin, with Green Beans and Mixed Vegetables. The meal was excellent and as reasonably priced as you can hope for in the 2026 economy. Service was prompt and friendly, and the atmosphere was in line with the chain experience.

The restaurant was not packed, we didn't have to wait for a table, and there appeared to be plenty of staff working. Despite that, our visit lasted nearly TWO HOURS from the time we were seated until we finally received our check. Our waiter seemed completely unable to manage multiple tasks at once. It took 20 minutes just to receive two Cokes and two sweet teas. Our appetizers took another 30 minutes after that. We didn't even receive our actual meals until about an hour and a half into the experience. What made it even more frustrating was the amount of staff visibly gathered throughout the restaurant laughing, gossiping, and socializing instead of helping customers. It genuinely felt like customer service was the least important thing happening there. The final straw was the restroom situation. The "family restroom" might as well be renamed the employee restroom. My husband and daughter stood waiting while employees continuously went in and out as if it were reserved for staff use only. Then when I entered the women's restroom, it felt more like walking into a high school hallway than a restaurant bathroom. Multiple groups of female employees were gathered inside laughing and gossiping, blocking the space, and after waiting several minutes I realized many of them weren't even waiting for stalls -- they were simply hanging out in the restroom. To top it all off, the food itself was subpar at best. Our steaks were overcooked, and the appetizers tasted like they had been sitting under heat lamps for far too long before ever reaching our table. Every concern, question, or complaint we brought up was met with irritation or complete nonchalance instead of any attempt to correct the situation. Needless to say, our family will NOT be returning to this location.
