I am a regular Harvey's visitor. The best thing on the menu are their broccoli bites for appetizer and the delta chicken for the entree. Delish!! They always have excellent customer service. The Thursday soup of the day is also really good which is the chicken and corn chowder. You should eat it with saltine crackers because the sweetness of the soup clashes with the wafer crackers. I agree that it's a little pricey for the portions but well worth it. read more

Found this place while traveling from Memphis to Birmingham. From all the reviews I saw, said get the broccoli bites. We did and were not disappointed. Ordered the prime rib. It was tender and good. This also came with baked potato, salad. They brought out cheesy bread to go with the salad. Wait staff was very attentive. If you asked for more butter or sour cream, they would come out with enough for two or three people. read more

I am sad to say this, but Harvey's is on the decline. Service is still among the better in town MOST of the time (but avoid the curbside -- they will ignore you all day long), but quality control in the kitchen is shot. Our party of four ordered a fish special (can't recall details as it wasn't my order), two marinated steaks, and one Delta chicken. Fish: Was good, according to the person who ordered it, but it lacked the sauce that was promised. Server promised to get it, forget twice, then brought back a congealed pinkish sauce in a ramekin. When the diner tried to drizzle is over her fish, it fell out in a clump. Disgusting to see, and the diner could not make herself eat it. At the end of the meal, the server cleared her plate, noted the clump of sauce, and said, "Oh, you didn't like the sauce?" with apparently legitimate surprise. I would bet that his tip was adversely affected by that comment. Steaks: One was ordered medium, and one was ordered medium well. Both arrived medium rare. One person kept his, and the other person sent hers back to be cooked medium well. It was returned to her absolutely burned, and her baked potato had been removed from the plate. The waiter never brought a replacement potato, and the steak was inedible. Delta chicken: This was my order. The mashed potatoes that come with the chicken were delicious, as always, and so was the gravy on the chicken. The bird itself was disturbingly rubbery. This is an entree that used to be reliably perfect, but no more. This is the second time in recent weeks that I've ordered the Delta chicken and received sub-par meat. We were really unhappy with our meals and did not want to chance dessert being equally bad, so we paid our bill and walked over to Tellini's and consumed some wonderful tiramisu for dessert. read more

Not sure what has happened, but for the first time in a long time was not the best experience. At 5:30 they seated our party of 10 full grown adults at 2 tables put together that was barely big enough for 8. We asked for another table nearby to be pulled over but were told they only allowed the 2 tables for a group of 10. This was in a more than half empty restaurant with no people waiting for a table. When they brought the appetizers there was no where to put them since we still had our menus sitting in front of us. The waitress kept saying she would get the manager to ask if we could add another table. The manager never came and they sat a party of 3 at that table so they didn't have to slide it over for us. Again, tons of booths were open so there was no shortage of tables even though they had several put together for a large part coming. We improvised by putting the folded down rounded outer portions of the tables back into the upright position to give ourselves more room. Food was pretty good as usual but wait staff seemed quite rude compared to normal and the customer was not the focus. Considering this was a business dinner and our business does quite a lot with them each year we expected better and will think twice about going there for our next occasion. Disappointed to say the least. Management you need to fix whatever is going wrong before you start losing business. read more

I came here for lunch with two friends and if not for their unique sensibilities (quick to make a scene) and their patience waning w/ our very uninterested waitress, I would have sent my entree back! It was absolutely over seasoned and disgusting. I ordered BBQ shrimp w/ Mac & Cheese. The Mac & Cheese was great... BUT the BBQ Shrimp was the worst thing I've attempted to eat in years. I had to scrap, literally SCRAPE the seasoning off of the shrimp to make them edible and even then they were hard to swallow. read more

I had a problem with the servers a while back and have not been back in years. Willing to try again. Food was excellent but when the "bill came" the orders were mixed on the tickets (5 people) it took about 40 minutes to halfway correct the tickets on who ordered what. I ended up paying for things never got just to get out of there. Maybe after 8 years the Waiting staff is better. I live only 6 blocks or so from Harvey's and recall this memory with every drive-by. We have not been to Harveys in sometime. It was delightful to see the restaurants renovation, it was clean, and refreshing. We wanted to sit in the dining area but were put in the bar lounge area, not knowing what to expect. From the second our waiter Tyler walked up we quickly were glad we did. He was phenomenal, making us feel very comfortable and excited to be here. Very good manners, had extensive knowledge of both the food and drinks. He had a charm to him that had us talking and laughing throughout the dinner. The restaurant was very busy, him specifically, but he was as patient and willing to take the time to make our night worth coming here. His food recommendations were PERFECT, as well as his opinions of the wine we had. We will definitely be coming back to sit in the lounge with Tyler and recommend him and this restaurant to our friends and strangers. This has always been one of my favorite steakhouses. (Plus this is where I got engaged 29 years ago.) Anyway tonight is the first time I have been back in a while. I order a Salad the waitress ask if I wanted cheese or eggs. I guess I looked at her funny she said there is an extra charge. I said "for cheese on a salad"? The waitress said "yes man". So I said No thank you I'm not paying for cheese that should be on a salad anyway. And now that we are talking about cheese! What has happen to the cheese stick!! They were tiny tiny tiny. Harvey's was recommended to us at our motel as the best restaurant in town and she was right! Nice, intimate atmosphere, sweetest waitress ever--she even brought us a complementary "taste" of soup to tide us over till our salads were ready! Our food was excellent and arrived quickly--redfish and tenderloin kabobs. We were encouraged to take our time enjoy and we did. First off, the food was great but I'll get to that a bit later. We called ahead to get on the list, but our party grew quite a bit as more family members got in town. The manager, Amy, handled preparations for the larger group quickly and expertly. This all happening at the same time they were getting slammed with dinner rush. We were very impressed with her poise and friendliness in a generally stressful situation. The staff ended up preparing a back room with tables and chairs to accommodate a party of 21. The space was perfect for our large group and 4 small children. Bre and Kendall were our waitresses and they were very efficient, but also extremely friendly and personable. As we got seated, drinks and appetizers came quickly. We shared the fried green tomatoes, the broccoli bites, and the mushrooms. They were all excellent and the sauces were amazing! The family ordered all sorts of things so I can't speak to all of the meals, but my blackened catfish was perfect. Everything was wonderful! Overall, the food was great, the atmosphere was wonderful, and the staff couldn't have been more friendly and accommodating. read more

OMG, we LUUUUUUUV Harvey's. It's casual dining, but we have seen several come in wearing tuxes and gowns, but keep your flip-flops at home. Prices are reasonable and the food is outstanding. We have always received good service and never had any complaints. I love the fried cheese sticks (never seen them done this way anywhere else) and the prime rib (OH God this is making me hungry). The atmosphere is laid back and casual. No TV's in the dining room, but several in the bar. I could gain 100 lbs in this place. read more

Fried foods junk with a very strong mustard sauce. I ordered a filet mignon with their Mac and cheese as a side. The steak had no spectacular flavor and the mac and cheese? While it was highly recommended by our waitress it was just gross. Didn't detect 4 cheeses and it was really dry. This pasta lover didn't even finish it! Will NOT be going back here. read more

Looked up the restaurant, saw a good rating decided to try it out. We drove an hour out of our way. The hostage was friendly and we were seated fairly quickly. We went on Sunday around 3 pm, not many other customers. The waitress was slow, and not responsive. We had to look for the waitress three times. Ordered a glass of wine from two different waitresses and still had to ask were it was. Had to ask for silverware. They were out of the steak wedge salad. Ordered the chicken salad. It came with a very small piece of chicken, very little toppings. Plain iceberg lettuce. Along with the chicken soup. It was missing flavor. Would not go again. Even if it was down the road from me. They had a large amount of staff walking around giving very little attention and service to their customers. The wait time for the food was way too long for the amount of customers in the restaurant. Paid too much $$$ for what I could do better at home. Yes, we still left a tip, over 10 percent. However, not worth it. read more

We had a great stopover in Harvey's while on a cross-country bicycle journey. We were between lunch and dinner time so sat at the bar and had 2 starters: the award-winning Broccoli Bites and the Black Eye Pea Hummus. Both were excellent, fresh tasting and perfect with a beer after biking 40 miles. Branden (sp) was tending bar and took great care of us. He was so friendly and interested in our journey. WORST RESTAURANT IN TUPELO. Got a call-in order. First, waitress argued with us for 30 minutes on the phone because she said the online menu we were trying to order from was wrong. Second, asked for no croutons because of a wheat allergy and the salad was still covered in bread crumbs as if they had put them on and taken them off like what?? My kids and I were passing through Tupelo so I researched restaurants on Yelp. Harvey's was well spoken of, and I would like to say that I must agree! We were seated quickly and all staff seemed genuinely concerned that we enjoy our dining experience. My youngest son did not like what he ordered (homemade style mac 'n cheese), and the manager was very accommodating for him and they made a fresh batch of chicken tenders for him. We were not charged for the mac 'n cheese. I would recommend Harvey's to both locals and those traveling through as well! read more

My friend and I stopped in on the way back from vacation for a good, quick dinner. Good selection on the menu from steaks, seafood, pasta to burgers and sandwiches. We got the quiche special. $8.95 for a slice of quiche, fresh fruit and side salad. Really fresh and very good. The service was EXCELLENT! Seriously some of the best I've experienced anywhere. Really enjoyed this restaurant. Just passing through, it's close to my hotel and has good reviews. Shared crab cakes for the app. So good! Lots of crab with great mustard sauce and amazing garnish. I could/should have made a meal of that and the house salad. Ordered the focaccia chicken sandwich and loved it although I simply couldn't eat that much so I left most of the yummy bread. Dinner partner ordered prime rib which was overcooked and sent back. Took no time to replace with perfectly cooked and even larger serving. Served by manager who was wonderful. Finally just went and opened a non de-script door on the street side of the building. Once in side it was a little tooooo dark, but I get they were going for the ambience. I had the shrimp and grits. We checked in with the intention to splurge! We first ordered the fried pickles, fried mushrooms, and broccoli bites. Then we started eating as it was delivered and ordered the ribeye and Cajun pasta with the Cajun crawfish soup each. Then ordered the chengo (a cheese cake filled burrito served caked in cinnamon and on a bed of vanilla ice cream and topped with whipped cream!) just to find out it had been removed from the desert menu. So with it being our anniversary they gave us a complimentary browny desert instead! Awesome servers and great time!
