Update: 10/9/2025. I had an issue with my toilet as it wouldn't stop filling. Harry kept his promise to help with my future plumbing needs. He squeezed me in his schedule and updated me the day of service multiple times concerning his arrival. He is honest, kind, professional and VERY knowledgeable! He also has the most reasonable prices I have EVER seen for a plumber. I couldn't give him a higher recommendation. I'm recommending him to everyone in the Harper's mill area where I live. So grateful we found him. Below review from 7/2025 I have never left a 5 star review from only talking to a business owner, but please read on. I left Harry a detailed message about a couple of toilets in my 4 year old home leaking from tank to bowl. I thought maybe the flapper, but when it happened to an upstairs & downstairs toilet around the same time, I panicked & thought it was maybe a plumbing system issue. Harry called me back promptly & let me know right up front that he was fully booked until August. But he also eased my mind by reminding me that the toilets were all put in at the same time, so more than one could have components wearing out at the same time. Since I only had leaking to the bowl, I changed the flappers & now they both work great! Even though he was very busy, he took the time to call me back. Even though he was booked until August, he listened to what I said. Granted he didn't try to diagnose over the phone, but his common sense, honest approach prevented me from calling another company for an emergency that I didn't have. He was right. I had two toilets with faulty equipment at the same time..a coincidence! I would highly recommend Harry; he is busy for a reason. We called Harry to fix a leaky faucet in our bathroom. I had tried to fix it but was unable to stop the leak and then could not put it back together. After spending 20 minutes "working on problem", he told me that it was a vacuum issue and that over time the leak would stop. He then presented me a bill for over $100. After he left the faucet was leaking as much as before his visit. We called another plumber who replace a washer and that solved the problem. Man where to begin? On the non-plumbing side of things - Harry was communicative, responsive, and punctual to his appointment. He identified the problems right away and fixed them quickly. We have a few little projects going on at the house , especially outside, and we have had some issues with the exterior faucets being leaky or broken. My boyfriend found Harry and was immediately taken with his honesty, professionalism and directness. When I called to have Harry come out to check on our hot water washer hose and another annoying faucet, he was pretty busy before a holiday weekend but was able to make it out and fix the problems. He showed me the problems and fixed promptly with no BS. He also didn't charge an arm or leg and instead of telling me I needed to "replace parts or else" he was honest that something may need to be replaced in the future but not needed right now. All I Can say is that Harry's Plumbing & Heating is top notch. I am not good with names, but the gentleman that came out to fix our outside water spicket was professional, informative and took the time to explain how it all works. He even walked with me to find where the water main was on the street, which is covered all up, so that will have to be cleared out. I've only ever called one plumber in Richmond to come back for repeat business, and that call was made tonight to Harry, that really should be just about enough of a review. But in case you want more details, I've had bad luck with plumbers. I get overcharged and jerked around... I called Harry because, well, he had one review on Yelp, and it wasn't a bad one and he isn't somebody I had called before. I don't think I was the nicest guy to him on the phone (not outright rude) but I did tell him I didn't really trust plumbers in the area based on my previous experiences. He told me his story, and it's basically that he worked for the big companies for years, knew their tactics, didn't like it, and wanted to do his job for an honest price. He went to my house and unclogged my kitchen sink. Guess what, when he called me to tell me how much it cost, it was in line with what he told me when I first called him. He didn't jack the price up on me, he didn't rip me off, he was honest. He fixed the problem, he charged me what he said he would charge, and there were no additional fees. Tonight I called him about another issue. Like I said, he's the first plumber that's gotten my repeat business and he will continue to get my business as long as I still own my house in Richmond, which I hope not to for much longer, and am planning on putting it on the market this spring, if anybody is interested... just kidding, sort of... no, not really, I am not kidding, I'm ready to sell it. This guy was awesome! We had a major plumbing disaster in early April, called lots of companies who wanted me to wait 2-3 days without any water. I called Harry and he came the very next day. He was prompt, courteous and professional. He fully explained my plumbing problem and came prepared to do the job. My house was built in 1955 so for sure there are tons of plumbing issues to be fixed but he didn't try to "sell" me additional repairs he just fixed my immediate problem, gave me some tips to help with minor things and even offered to come back at reduced cost if the same problem occurred within the month. I hate to say this but usually I feel I've been swindled when needing repair work performed but not this time. Harry will be my plumber from now on. read more

I had an emergency. Harry called back within minutes and fit me into his busy schedule. He called early when on his way and arrived much earlier than I expected. Harry taught me some things and made some suggestions regarding the renovation of my older home. He is very pleasant and professional. All this and his charge for the work was more than reasonable.
