So Nick came over and talked with me and was really helpful. I had told him what was going on and it turned out that the real issue was my house's main water shutoff. That's major to me, and I liked the honesty as I was shown the list of pricing so I understood that these were set prices and that made me feel safer, like someone wasn't just trying to give a higher cost because I'm a woman. You may laugh but I still see that practice, so that was good to see. I called two other places and one (Benjamin Franklin) actually wanted to charge $350 dollars more for the same work, and then came down in price to be just $100 more than Southern...I know I'll never call Benjamin Franklin! Tyler was great! He accommodated some specific requests of mine, took pictures of the issue, walked me through the process, and repaired it within 24 hours. Tyler went above and beyond in his responsiveness during and even after his job; answering post-repair questions I had and providing me with information I needed to give the city. The cost of the repair seemed high, but given the circumstances, I could not obtain other quotes so I have to assume it was fair. Overall, I am pleased with the interactions I had with Tyler and the work he completed!

This cost me $190.00. - $120 for labor (???), $60 for the trip, and $10 for supplies. $190.00 for a plumber to be +2hrs late, spend 5 minutes in my house, and for me to put water down my drain. As for the job itself (garbage disposal replacement) the service tech tried to unjam the old one first (which would have saved me money) but came to the conclusion the old one was toast. As he was boxing his tools I asked if White Glove did any water quality testing and explained a problem I suspect I have on my supply line. He offered to take a sample on the spot that would be sent off to a lab. He quoted me a price and said I could pay in a week when the sample came back. How much more could I ask for?
