Harrison's is great for a local sandwich, lunch restaurant. The food is good, however small portions in a fat America. A bit pricey too. It is always busy since it's hard to find a good-feeling local sandwich, lunch cafe when everything else is a chain. Yes, they do have good pita, and alright baklava. The service is just fine. It's always confusing to me though when you're expected to just leave your dirty dishes on the table when you're done. This was the first time my wife and I tried this restaurant. We had been looking forward to trying it for some time. We were sadly disappointed. Food: My wife had the chicken teriyaki pita sandwich. She found it underfilled and lacking any teriyaki flavor. I had the Grinder which is their equivalent of an Italian sub. It tasted just like a sub I used to eat at an amusement park that I worked at. What made me give this a five star rating was the combination of uniqueness and quality. I like the fact that they use pita bread and skewers but it's not just your traditional Greek stuff. I like that stuff too but it's nice to see another spin put on it. The Teryaki chicken sandwich is the thing to order. I have ordered other things and liked most of them but this is my item of choice. I would like to see them put in a second register for take out orders, at least during peak hours. They allow call in customers to go directly to the front but I always feel weird just walking past everyone. This is one of the best sandwich shops in Burlington, and the prices can't be best for the quality. Service is prompt and polite. Helpful with anything you need. This place is insanely popular with my former high school classmates - and with plenty of other people as well; lunch here is always busy. To what would I attribute this success? Honestly, probably to four perfectly-toasted pita slices and a cup of accompanying ranch dip, which is just the right amount of runny. This is definitely not the plastic-y, thick, sour stuff that comes out of those little packets. These pita slices, alongside a teriyaki chicken skewer and some potato wedges or a little salad with feta - a darn good meal. In addition to the tasty chicken skewer combos, they have good sandwiches and salads. Their chef salad is delicious and got me through the long, dark months that I spent on Atkins. I stopped in here with my better half for lunch one Sunday and we were both very pleased. She had the tuna salad sandwich which had plenty of fresh tuna and she thoroughly enjoyed while I had the chicken tenders and potato wedges which were also very good. The chicken tenders seemed fresh and thick, not the thin pre-breaded type without anything inside. While I am not usually a huge fan of potato wedges, they were absolutely delicious. Both the chicken and the wedges went great with the ranch that came with it. The location is not big and has limited seating. We got there right as they opened for lunch and were very glad that we did. Within ten minutes the seating was all taken up and there was a nice sized line waiting to order still. We are trying to be adventurous and try lots of new places, but this is one that we are certain to return to soon. read more

Harrison's is great. Their teriyaki chicken is awesome. On Thursday nights you can get the teriyaki chicken sandwich combo (chips and a drink) for $4.99. 3rd take out order in a row that they left food out! I made sure this time that everything was in our bags and it was not! When I told the cashier that the cheese sticks were missing she quickly said "you didn't order them." I said I did order them and I had paid for them. She looked at the ticket and said "you did order them. I will get them" I waited another 10 mins and when she came back out she saw me still standing there and said she had just checked and the cheese sticks were almost ready. She went back to the kitchen and I watched the cook dump cheese sticks into the oil... another 5 minutes and a different staff person handed them to me. I asked to speak with a manager. Another 5 mins and a lady walked out and I assumed she was a manager. I told her what had happened. She asked me what was missing and I said cheese sticks this time but the service we had gotten the last 3 times we had ordered there was not acceptable. She said "you're right, it's not acceptable."! She then turned around and walked away. By the time we finally got home and opened the bags everything was cold and soggy... except for the fried cheese curds! No longer sticks! One of my favorite Burlington traditions! Harrisons has been around a long time for a reason. Great food, consistently. So fun to order the same sandwich I loved 20 years ago, and still love it this much today. And it tastes exactly the same!! And the service is fast. The Chicken Teriyaki Pita Wrap sandwich is my favorite, and I do order the cheesesticks here but no where else, I do not typically eat cheesesticks. I used to order the Hot Roast Beef which was outstanding but it's no longer on the menu. My kids love to it also, and that's rare because Chick Fil A would normally be their only vote. You also need to know what you want when you go in, as it's an "order at the counter" kind of place. I love Harrisons, I live right by it and I eat here 2/3 times per week. I never have anything bad to say about the food and thoroughly enjoy it everytime. But what I do have an issue with is the difference between the day time employees and the night time employees. During the day, everyone is always friendly and kind. But at night the restaurant is run by a bunch of kids who don't give a shit. Very unwelcoming, rude and acts as if it's a burden to serve you. Last night for example, I had to ask them how he was doing, he didn't answer, just stared at me dazed and confused, I had to explain I had a take out order 3 times. Got my food, slammed it on the counter. I had to ask for my drink cups which he rolled his eyes and slammed those down on the counter as well. No sorry, no thanks, no telling us to return or to enjoy our meal, no nothing. Guy didn't respond or say a single word to us during the whole process. And I observed that happen to the couple in front of us and behind us. This won't stop me from coming here again, I just feel like the issue needs to be corrected. I rep harrisons around town as if I own it. Nobody I know will go there because of the issues that I just explained. The response I get from everyone is that I don't want to go there because of the stoner, skater looking kuds that run the place with attitudes during the evening.
