Salad?

WOW! Worst diner in South Jersey? Should have heeded previous reviews. My dining partner got the salad. If you could call it that. Really weak lettuce, some shredded carrots and a bunch of stale croutons. How can a diner in South Jersey not put tomatoes in a salad? I had the turkey club. Not too bad but turkey was very dry. Do not upgrade to fries for $2.99 unless you can confirm that they will be either, A cooked. Or B warm. Preferably both. Mine were neither! Food was so poor almost forgot also did not bring napkins or setup until we asked when food came and took about 10 minutes for somebody to even ask about drinks. Just horrible!

While home visiting we were meeting a friend for breakfast and we decided to have breakfast at the Harrison House. I haven't been here in a while but I always remember them having a pretty decent breakfast. When you arrive it has a decent parking lot, the area does get busy on Thursday-Saturday with people visiting the Amish Market that is located behind it. When we arrived the parking lot was pretty empty and it was around 8am. As soon as we walked in we were greeted and seated at a table to wait for the rest of our party! Our waitress was very friendly and grabbed us drinks as we waited. Once everyone was there she came by to check-in again, and let us know to take our time (she knew we were catching up so she didn't bother us to put in the order so fast.) The dining room also filled up VERY fast like 10-15 minutes after we got there! We put our order in, I got the two eggs and style and it came with home fries, toast and I added on an order of bacon, extra crispy. My Fiancée ordered the chunky monkey pancakes which were peanut butter chip pancakes topped with fresh bananas, walnuts, and Nutella. My dish was very good! I loved the home fries, which is something I don't get often living on the West Coast! The bacon was cooked perfectly, and the eggs as well! Overall my dish hit the mark perfectly! My Fiancée's dish was very good as well! She did say that if you love a sweet breakfast, this is definitely something you should order! They do not skimp out on topping the hotcakes with Nutella or walnuts and she said that it was really delicious! Overall, we had a great experience here. It's an average Diner in south Jersey so don't expect 5-star butler service. Its fast, convenient and friendly, growing up we used to come here all the time and it still feels liek the same restaurant quality to me!

My husband and I came here for an early dinner on a Saturday. Great service and great food. Casual, family friendly, not overly crowded.

Continental sandwich- egg, tomato and provolone.

This is a community staple. My son calls it the tea cup diner because of the logo. Today I ordered my staple from when I was a teenager - the continental- croissant with provolone cheese, fried egg, and tomato with home fries. Just the way I remembered it. The home fries were delicious. The little man had the mini hot cakes with chocolate chips, they use the mini chips which is more ideal. He ate 2 and we brought 2 home. It was a weekday with school off, service was great and speedy due to it not being super crowded.

Lite Fare- Healthy egg, white, feta, and spinach omelette with a side of turkey sausage $10.99

Went here for breakfast with two family members. None of us enjoyed our meal. The restaurant is quite outdated and the service was subpar.

It's very cute and very tidy and even the restrooms are really cute and very clean. I met with a couple girlfriends and we split a couple dishes. We started with the matzoh ball soup and the crab bisque, which were both delicious and very flavorful , next..... we ordered the turkey burger, which was delicious and we got a side of mixed fruit, which was great and another dish we ordered was the blueberry pulled pork, which was delicious, and they can also do it gluten-free. We did order a side of french fries that was a huge portion and they looked like fresh cut and the skin was on the fries and everything was full of flavor and very fresh. We all agree that we can't wait to return and try more things on the menu. A lot of their dishes they can do dairy free or gluten-free. It was really great to have these options in place everything was very flavorful. The service was excellent and it seemed like they had a couple people that were training and shadowing other servers, but everyone was really chipper and really sweet. It is a hidden gem and the parking lot was really awesome so that we could park securely, but the town looks very walkable and really neat. I would definitely love to come back when I have more time. I cannot wait to try more things on the menu

First course was corn soup with a corn fritter yum this was my favorite part of the meal. 2nd course we chose the corn dip and corn Mac & cheese. Both very good. 3rd course was a fried chicken and corn panzanella and orecchiette dish. My sister in law absolutely loved the fried chicken and corn panzanella she ate the entire dish and said it was so light and refreshing. Dessert was Mexican brownie with corn ice cream and some type of cheesecake dessert. The dessert was just ok . Service was excellent. We sat upstairs which was really nice.

They open at 3pm which worked perfectly as that is when we arrived. Ally provided stupendous service. Ambiance is cozy and attractive. Their playlist was great. Menu is huge with so many delectable sounding items. They offer quite a few gluten free, vegetarian, and vegan options. We ordered Bull's Horn and a French 75 with cognac not gin. Both were delicious and boozy. For food we ordered Eggplant Chips, Fig Brie Focaccia, Spicy Sweet Ribs, and Sweet Potato Tacos. I was impressed with the food. The Eggplant Chips were the star of the show. It came with a tzatziki that had diced not grated cucumber. I typically do not care for the cucumbers to be cut like that for tzatziki. Highly recommend. I can't wait to return.

There are three separate restaurants accessible through the main doors and an ice cream window along the building's alley way right side. The Red Hen restaurant is to the left and the BLK SHP to your right. Frankly, I never found out what bar/eatery is in the middle but it was the BLK SHP that was calling to us with their classic tapas menu. I walked through the door on the right to discover a warm comfortable dining room with a massive fireplace. The windows at BLK SHP offer glimpses of traffic along this classic South Jersey town and for non-rainy days there are seats on the old porch, which looked very comfortable. The menu is a fun curiosity with dining options listed under categories such as: "Earth, Greens, Land, and Water." It's a tapas bar, which means small plates and of course questions because we needed some menu insight. The waitress was awesome and VERY patient because she was facing newbies. Her recommendation was 2 to 3 items per person. She said some folks start "small" and add items throughout the meal, which she encouraged us to do. She did say some order a lot knowing they will be boxing food at the conclusion of their meal. My shared meal was pretty much close to perfect. Roasted Butternut Salad (The dressing was really good.), Arepa Pastor (Nice kick to its spices), Wild Mushroom Ragout (The waitress applauded this choice and although it was a relatively small plate they were very good!), and the closer was the lemony Queso de Cabra whose melted goat cheese served as dessert. If you go make sure your friends like to share food because this experience is all about sharing. Sharing delicious and filling food ... no room not temptation to check out the ice cream window. The doors swung open towards a rain drenched street and we looked at each other agreeing that the BLK SHP is a great choice to meet for dinner. I don't know what's in the middle at 1301 Kings Highway in Swedesboro and the Red Hen is to the left but comfort and great food are on the right at the BLK SHP.

It is medium in size and follows a primarily-brown color scheme. It has a small buffet near the front, a half-wall in the middle that has tables lining it, and a counter near the front where the staff can be seen occasionally. Pictures of food can be seen in the back of the restaurant and a black whiteboard with the specials written on it hangs above the buffet too. Tables can be found in the back as well. We were seated immediately after arriving. The place was busy so we got seated in the middle. We saw the buffet and decided to order from the menu, instead. Daughter ordered the Sunshine Skillet, which had homemade sausage gravy on hash browns topped with 2 sunny side up eggs. Daughter loved it because it came with SO MUCH GRAVY. She was pretty happy with the sunny side up eggs, as well. Hubs ordered the Veggie Omelet, which has fried peppers, onions and tomatoes. He was surprised that the vegetables appeared to be deep fried but he thought it was a nice change of pace. He felt it was a bit decadent, though. Lastly, I ordered the Pancake Platter, which has two buttermilk pancakes served with sausage and 2 eggs. The pancakes were nice and fluffy. It was delicious. Daughter loved their butter and took most of it. LOL. Service was quick. After eating, we walked around the market and got more food. Glad we came here and will return to try other items on the menu!

Admission fees are per vehicle ($12.50 if you book online, $5 more if you buy it in person). They have prepaid bags or you can get apples/vegetables per pound. It would be nice if they had smaller bags since the prepaid ones are massive. We got a few apples, two eggplants, a couple peppers, and a sunflower, and the final price was quite reasonable. It was a bit past season for most of the eggplants and sunflowers, but there were still some good ones remaining. Super fun to pick and then cook at home :) The pumpkins in the pumpkin patch are precut--there are a bunch of large pumpkins just sitting around in the section. We skipped those but saw a lot of little kids having fun there. For lunch, I had one of the sandwiches+baked beans, and they were great! The warm apple cider donuts hit the spot--they were freshly made and still warm and were soft with crispy sugar on the outside. The hot apple cider is average but nice for the experience. It was pretty busy, but there was a lot of seating in the food area and space to spread out and have a peaceful time on the farm. I definitely want to come here again!
