Right now we are experiencing some personal challenges. So I wanted to write and say that Paul and I were treated particularly well yesterday 4/7/26 by more than one team member at this store. Starting for me with the pharmacist who came from behind the pharmacy and assisted me in finding an over the counter product that has since helped me tremendously. She was so kind and willing to help without question. Then later after purchasing my items, I was standing waiting for my husband to finish with the groceries. Another team member from customer service saw me and asked if I needed anything. I told her I was waiting and she invited .me to sit and wait on one of the benches. Hell this one of my favorite grocery stores . This is called Harris Teeter . But the only problem i have ot thst they have a online application that I have a hard time accessing and filling out . Is there any way of making the job applications easier online because ive encountered people that had the same problem . This place has great departments when going inside they have huge Cashier areas, te have a pharmacy are somewhat to the left near the produce area. This place has great grocery areas filled with your favorite foods and more . They have a huge Customer Service And Guest Agent Desk they have a huge Deli , Bakery , frozen foods , Ice cream and frozen yogurt and dairy department , Plus a nice oiune area near a Starbucks booth area , they have a hallmark card section but never sell In box sets . They have things I liked such as chocolate frozen yogurt, Mixed Trail Mix , Yogurt Covered raisins bags 2 liter . I love picking up Cheezits , And Hawaiian punch and more . This place is always very decorative on every holiday season almost like a Holiday village within the store itself . They have a great staff here cashiers and other department staff . But management needs to change when it comes to hiring people. Sometimes they are very judgmental before seeing what people like me can do to contribute to the team and store without seeing us in action .Thats wgere things need to change in Management. Things were bad during the pandemic to the Dark times that are happening now ehere management people and society has caused bad behaviors tat should never have happened by hsv8jg faith in the wrong politicians that caused a lot of division, Paranoia, Fear , And Prejudice thst should have never been tolerated in any place of business or professional Occupations . We started using Harris Teeter curbside pick-up during COVID and now can't imagine ever taking time to go into the store again. Such a time saver! It took getting used to at first, but now we are hooked! The people who work there who bring out our groceries each week are so incredibly nice. I can't think of a single time they've made an error in selecting the items we ordered online. Really grateful to have this service available. Harris Teeter always has a great selection of items. We do try and shop sales to save money and they do have good sales on many items we typically purchase. On rare occasion we'll need to go into the store for one or two items. We always use the self-service registers to check out. There is rarely ever a wait to do that. Overall, very glad to recommend them! read more

What earned them 3 stars is having SO MANY CUSTOMERS and so few registers open! The wait was around 15 minutes! The organic produce section is a joke! $2.49 for an organic red pepper is pricier than Whole Foods! Overall, it's a good place to find organic "staples" for your cupboards. read more

I shop at Harris Teeter weekly but Olney just can't seem to get it together. I went to get things on my list but reduced by 25% because they didn't have the meats on sale I needed for the week. The shelves were half empty with some of the other sale items. I am tired of having a 60 day rain check when I needed the items today. They had no shrimp and the seafood case was almost bare. I was pointed to the frozen shrimp instead? Really? I won't by fish here cause it's not fresh. No hamburger had to go to the butcher counter to get chuck. No split chicken breast. Ugh then always a long wait in line with one cashier at 7:30pm and then delay. I walked out with 3 rain checks and still spent $160. I will go to N Bethesda or Fulton before I come back. It's just not worth going to not get all on my list cause then I have to go back, another day, to finish. I find the managers to be friendly but rushed, overworked, short staffed. Aside from the Safeway, this Harris Teeter is one of the newest grocery stores in Olney. It is clean, organized, and has a great selection of produce. One of the most valuable assets is that it's HUGE (its predecessor was a movie theater, so one can imagine its size)! There is adequate parking in the lot out front, but sometimes that can get crazy when there are deals to be had and soccer moms to be pushed aside. My friend didn't have a coffee grinder so we went in once to grind her coffee in one of the self-serve machines -- and no one flagged us down as being lazy or tacky, which is a plus. We needed to return an item that my friend had bought a little while ago, and we were met with a friendly customer service representative who found the transaction in the database by looking up her credit card, and he quickly handled her return. read more

I have been here several times since it is next to the Winery at Olney. I thought that every grocery store is the same. However, I realized that this one is just well managed. It is clean and quiet as there is not that much foot traffic on an on going basis. Now, I have not been here during peak hours. I remember going to the Whole Foods in Germantown and it was a struggle to get what I wanted and get out in a quick fashion. I do like the fact that it is a 24 hour place so I can drive here and pick up whatever I want when I am being a night owl. Overall, I feel safe and comfortable at this Harris Teeter. I love Harris Teeter, but maybe I caught this branch on a bad day, or someone didn't tell me it was going to snow tomorrow. The lines at the checkout were horrendous! My friend and I were in a huge line they took us back into the produce section. Fortunately, the shoppers were all courteous and patient. They were out of a lot of the things I wanted. That's what happens when HT does double $2.00 coupons. (I only had 4 coupon, but save $10.00!) I was at this HT because I had breakfast nearby. Outside of one major issue, this store would have received three stars. Overall some prices were decent. Others were high. The produce selection was a little scarce. Now for the major issue. I needed to use the bathroom. The bathroom was a hazardous waste site. I will attach a picture. The toilet wouldn't flush. Either automatically or manually. There was urine all over the floor. There was toilet paper on the floor wadded up to clean up some of the urine. UPDATE: I guess even Harris Teeter was embarrassed of their own bathroom. I was contacted by Yelp today notifying me that they removed the picture I uploaded of the bathroom. There was nothing vulgar about the picture (I can't see how I violated any of their rules). I used the online ordering for many months, spending about $500 monthly. Back in October they loaded another shoppers groceries into my vehicle and the corporate rep told me to keep them and that the manager would bring my order by the house. She came by but asked for the non perishables. Then recently a ham I paid for was not placed in my vehicle and the manager refused to send it by to me, not believing me. I have been promised calls in response to my complaint, and ultimately, either a refund or the ham. Three weeks later, despite repeated complaints I have received neither. Their customer support is appalling. I wouldnt buy groceries from them now even if I was starving. Safeway offers online ordering and pickup and their manager is friendly and helpful by contrast. One has been broken for 8 months and another now for 2 months. And a third stops every time you run over a tiny bump. I complain, call them out on Twitter and FB, but nothing changes at this store. I usually go to the Rockville location where they are always happy and accommodating to accept competitor coupons but this location was not willing to help. Gave me some roundabout explanation about how they can't accept a coupon from the competitor (even though the other location accepts it), you would think there would be some standardized policy about this... especially because all they do is hit a button for a competitor coupon, it was some manager who is definitely a stickler and didn't want to remedy the situation at all. This store has a nice large coffee lounge with outlets and Wifi; though, some of the customers are Haight Street weird yet act out inside. Furthermore, whomever she was on the phone with, distracted her so much, she not only failed to fill mine, but other peoples' prescriptions as well. Flustered, I asked, "Excuse me, I was told to pick up my medication in 30 minutes, came back 45 minutes later, and want to know how much longer?" Dismissive in her response, Christine snapped at me as if I had kept asking for a handout. The good part about her behavior is the fact that she exhibited herself to not only me, but others standing in line, as one customer was none to pleased, and stated she would be making a complaint to HT management. As a "person of color" I know how it feels to be treated as if I don't exist. With that said, presently, the physical and verbal attacks towards Asians in America is reprehensible and vile. I like shopping here for the most part but wish they would improve their produce section. Most of the times I go, even if the shelves are freshly stocked, most of the greens look limp and unappealing. I've taken to getting all of my produce at Safeway, especially after I bought an acorn squash at HT that looked fine on the outside but rotted after I bought it. I've NEVER had that happen before. Also many items are out of stock after the sales change, so you often have to wait a day or two to get the new sales items. Plus their new gas program pales in comparison to Safeway's--seems you can only get gas at BP? On the plus side, the HT Organics and HT Traders brands are great, and we really like the house brand OJ. But it's often OOS. I also like the fact that on BOGO sales, you can just buy one item at half price. Often at Safeway you have to buy 2 to get the sale price on each. read more

We have been shopping here since this location opened. It has gone down hill and is not a pleasant experience. Shelves are not stocked and items that are on sale are frequently out of stock! They refuse to give rain checks for many of these out of stock items and they rarely train their staff how to bag groceries. Most just throw stuff in the bags. They hire kids that barely say a word. My wife was overcharged for something and the checker was shocked when she asked for a refund. A manager had to step in to show how to process the adjustment! Training? What Training? The pharmacy has become unreliable. I recently went to pick up a prescription and the only person there was the pharmacist. No help. He was on the phone, filling orders and helping customers. With 4 of us in line it took 1/2 hr to pick up my Rx. They never have enough help, have 1 or 2 check out lines open with long lines. When we buy milk it frequently spoils days before the sell by date. They need to bring back or get people that care because this store is in a major decline! Wake up HT or you're gonna lose more customers! read more

It's not the cheapest place to shop for food but if you buy their store brand, the prices are competitive and quality is good, if not better than major brands. They carry hard to find spices and sauces which is the most important factor for me. They are also open 24/7....which is nice if you must get something at 3 am. read more

I shop here and at the Harris Teeter in Gaithersburg and all the cashiers are new at both locations. I wonder what is going on for everyone to be new. The checkout is very slow because they are all new and they do not know anything. Then when the cashiers call for help, no one comes leaving the customers waiting. I live right behind, walking distance and I just love that they are open 24 hours. I get the late night munchies and I walk here at any given time and its so exciting to live nearby. The sushi is the best I've had in the area- yes, Harris Teeter has better priced, more quality sushi offerings than actual restaurants in Olney. Husband loves their subs. Footlongs, with boars head meats on the cheap. Sometimes its on special at $5, other times $7. Crazy. We've also sampled the pizza and asian hot food bar. All very good. I come to Harris Teeter when I'm making international dishes- they are more likely to have the ingredients I need. Recently, I decided to try my hand at tom ka gai, a Thai soup. I found everything I needed at Harris Teeters (came out delicious, by the way). They aren't the cheapest around, it pays to look for specials. They have free cookies in front of checkout for kids- keeps the baby calm while we're in line. I'm a fan! read more

This has become our primary grocery store simply on the fact of service. The employees are always friendly and accommodating. The store is always bright and clean along with being well stocked. What truly won us over is that this company had multiple semi trucks full of ice sent to this store to support the community during a multiple day power outage. They handed out bags of ice for free to anyone that needed it. This alone makes this store an asset to the community. We are very proud to have a Harris Teeter store in our neighborhood! read more
