The women who works the beauty area is extremely rude. She is a middle aged women who typically wears black clothes...she's been there for years. Today 1/23/2026 while walking out the front door I heard her using an extremely rude tone belittling a little old woman who was asking for help getting merchandise from one of the sliding locked doors. I just spent an hour creating a photo xmas card on their equipment, because the directions were clear as mud. I was told (thru the machine and via the surly clerk at checkout) that the cards would be ready in an hour. I was back in an hour and after looking in the messy boxes near the front, the Manager said, "oh, is it 5x7? We don't have that size photo paper". WHAT??? Maybe you should advise your valued customers that before they waste their time? No apologies, wouldn't even look at me. AVOID CVS! Terrible Service. P.S. just got a call from that same manager who couldn't remember "which one I was", but said the reason they were out of that size paper was due to all the Christmas cards. Duh! Well a mixed review to follow. The store is nice and Pharmacy staff are friendly. I drove 45 minutes to this location in Olney because my daughter was in urgent need of a refill and this was the ONLY pharmacy that had it in stock. They filled the prescription in 20 minutes on a busy Sunday late afternoon. That's the good news. Please note average hold time on phone to confirm med in stock and begin refill process is 30 to 45 minutes. Today,Tuesday, I was on hold for 30 minutes to try to fix issue, that I will detail here, when at 12 noon exactly they cut me off. They close the pharmacy for lunch. A new experience for me. My issue is when my daughter was on the phone Sunday to get refill started the price was quoted. When I arrived I got the same price quoted to me. It's expensive so she wanted to make sure I understood. I did. 20 minutes later I was charged $175.00 more for this med. When I told her the price she quoted just 20 minutes earlier she replied in a nervous voice "I would never have said that.". Well, she did say that. I made the choice to leave because my daughter needed her med. I wished I had stayed a bit longer to resolve the issue. I'll update later with the resolution. Wish me luck. I don't like leaving reviews like this. I don't like being lied to either. I now have proof that the lower price was paid at the Rockville CVS on Norbeck just a month ago. Heavy sigh. Had a 90 day regular script. I didn't notice they only gave me a 30 for no reason. I pay the same - 30 or 90 day. It was the last refill (of 90), Dr. on vacation now. Have been out of med for 2 days already. Said insurance won't ok the remaining 60 from last time's error. Insurance only does 30 or 90 supply not 60, I need the missing 60 to make it to next Dr. appt. for next Rx. They are willing to let me pay (again) for the next 30 of the missing 60, (get this!) and then pay the next 30 out of pocket. Called CVS headquarters. They understand what happened and gave me their "Sympathy" but wouldn't fix their Rx error. Note that I had also called the local pharmacy (Olney) 2 days before when I saw online they were only go to give me 30 again this time, and was assured they would fix the problem before it was filled wrong again. Local pharmacy lied to me directly, nothing was done to correct the problem. I'm sure they just wanted to get me off the phone when they lied. They f'd up and admitted it but wouldn't fix it. I'll have to swallow their "sympathy" instead of my prescribed med every night. read more

This CVS Pharmacy (not Minute Clinic which took over the former Yelp page for CVS Olney) is located in the Shoppes at Olney. It has a drive thru Pharmacy in the back of the store and lots of parking in the front and side of this location. It has been opened for some years now. A few years ago, they redesigned the store which made the aisles more easier to maneuver. Their check-out line is set up similar to the TJ Maxx location nearby (meaning when you line up they will alert you with a sound to inform you that the next available cashier is free). They are open 24 hours and so is the Pharmacy located in the back of this location. The Pharmacy can get busy at times so be prepared to have your patience. You can also get photos done at this location and they have a MoneyGram as well. You can also purchase refrigerated items as well like Juices, Milk, Yogurt and Salad to name a few located in the back of the store. read more

Absolute trash. Just...they never, ever, ever answer their pharmacy phone. My record wait was an hour, when the phone hung up on me. Prescriptions aren't filled, unless they're chased down...which is impossible, what with the not answering of the phones. And, even if by miracle, you get notice that they're working on it? Pro -- 24-hour pharmacy, the staff are usually pleasant and helpful. Drive-thru window usually works, if slowly. Con -- They will notify you that your prescription will be ready at a specific time. DO NOT BELIEVE THEM. Many times, I have received multiple texts that my prescrip will be ready at XX:00; I've gone by several hours later, to give them a buffer, only to be told that it's not done and "will be ready in 15 minutes." I suggest adding 24 hours to whatever time they tell you, to avoid frustration and multiple fruitless trips. read more

Horrible service from Ron. I feel sick and miserable - getting medicine and don't have a CVS card. The difference between card vs no card is $20(!) and at other CVS locations if you don't have a card they usually scan theirs. Ron has this card on his belt but doesn't scan it. Instead he tells me 'it's always been like this' and blah blah I don't even know because I'm sick. He asks me what the sales prices are ("you should know what they are") Dude I'm sick with two small kids - I don't know? Just scan the card and which he eventually does after describing the process and how I'm wrong and what I should be doing multiple times. Ron.....you're the worst. read more

We have been Olney customers for 32 years. We enjoy the employees on Sunday morning vEry much. They are very helpful. But, the store managers can't get the sale prices up by 1pm Sunday. We either need to come on a different day or skip CVS altogether. The sale prices were previously up early Sunday morning but no more. And this is a 24 hour store! They could put up the sale prices anytime. We might do more of our shopping at Sams in the future. They do not have this problem! Scott read more

First in line to pick up a prescription for my daughter. The Tech erroneously repeated our last name, birthday 2x. Then Told me prescription was on hold, he didn't know why, even tho I had a text stating it was ready. Then told me to go to another window bc he didn't kno what was wrong. However, window was closed. Finally, new guy came over 5 minutes later. He said it was at another location and they would transfer it but more waiting. NBD Then, went to get Mucinex. Half, literally 1/2, of product on the shelf was indiscriminately locked up-no rhyme or reason. My daughter prematurely rang the buzzer and guy came flying around the corner and said, "What?!" Unfortunately he was pissed that I was still reviewing prices but didn't give me even 2 seconds. He exclaimed UGH!!!, Threw up his hands, stomped his feet, and spun away. read more

I discovered that I was out of a medication after my local CVS on Norbeck Road was closed. This is a very important medication and one that I must take multiple times a day. I called this 24 hour pharmacy in a panic. The pharmacist very calmly, and very thoughtfully assured me that he could transfer my prescription and have it ready within an hour. Five stars. read more

Give the pharmacist a drug test. Bunch of opioids where missing when they filled my script, and it happened more than once. Will never, ever, ever go back to this opioids stealing crooks. They don't pick up the phone! I was on hold for over an hour once. Yesterday, I was on hold for an hour and a half! I had an issue with my insurance, which I had to fix, but then needed to talk to someone directly in order to get my prescription filled. Luckily, my sister was in the area and was able to go in and get it done in minutes. She said they were very busy, which I can believe after being on hold for an hour and a half. If you need to talk to someone, it would be quicker to just drive there than call. read more

Olney Pharmacy #1431 My provider called in a new Rx for me but there is no record of it when I try to view it on the app. The pharmacy does not answer the phone. Ever. I have tried at all times of the day, on different days. If you're lucky enough to get someone up front to answer the phone, they hear the word "pharmacy" and quickly transfer you to the phone that no one is ever going to answer. They claim that's the only way to reach the pharmacy. It would be nice if they offered to walk back there (since all the customers use self checkout at this point), or use the intercom, but that would be going above and beyond for a customer, which is no longer the way things are done. The lines at the pharmacy are always long and the pharmacy staff is always grouchy. I don't want to waste 30 minutes standing in line with my young children and other customers coughing all over the place, just to be treated rudely and told they don't have my confirmed Rx in the system, or some other nonsense. I would rather hear the news that they screwed up over the phone. They have many employees but the service is still extremely slow. CVS has great perks and discounts, but every other pharmacy outdoes them tenfold in customer service, accuracy, and timing. I would like to say that there is one pharmacy employee who is efficient and pleasant. I wish I knew her name so I could exclude her from this review. She should be in charge of training the others, even if she is not a pharmacist! read more

This location is generally good but their RX drive through service is not to par. It's either slow or the technician wasn't too friendly. A few times that we had to wait for half an hour in the drive through for pick up with only two cars in line. Other times, a technician was quite rude. I get it's hard to hear through windows and with our masks on, but a little patience would be kind especially to the elders. read more

by far the worst pharmacy i've ever stepped foot in. the african american male pharmacist is rude and unprofessional. ignored me as i stood there waiting on the phone with my mothers surgeon & was rude speaking to the surgeon. brushed me off when i asked questions. prior to driving 25 mins over here, i attempted calling 5 times and waited about 30 minutes at a time, no answer. when i confronted both the pharmacist and the lady working, the look dumbfounded that i asked if their phone worked. absolutely ridiculous. do better and hire a new pharmacy team. read more

Terrible customer service and argumentative employees who don't know the policies of the company they work for. Is customer service a dying thing? I literally looked up the policy and it was not what they told me. I ended up paying $3 more for a product that I bought the day before. They said a return without a receipt only gave me the lowest price of the season yet on CVS.con it clearly states that I can EXCHANGE for the same product - which is what I was doing. Never go there because they don't know policies and will charge you whatever they want. Said they couldn't change the price to match the original price and couldn't show me the policy that said I had to return it for a lower price and then pay more to get the same thing. Have to get in long line. 15 minutes later make it to front and the check out clerk won't scan my added items due to the long line. I have to go to front and get in line again. My customer experience at the Olney store is always excellent,truly extra-ordinary. Angela, in the Pharmacy is very knowledgable,welcoming,and goes to extra mile for customers. Barbara, the cosmetics manager is full of product knowlege,patience, and interest in helping the customer select precisely the right item the customer wants;she's a huge bonus to the store. Lillian, a cashier, is friendly, well trained and eager to make the transaction a pleasant experience. The store manager is always working hard but always immediately available to not only direct but accompany the customer to find a product and discuss it. The store was recently redesigned in a new traffic pattern and it makes the store even more appealing. This store is a boon to the neighborhood. Congratulations CVS for hiring the right people. Many service issues here. The place is too busy and does not answer the phone. The customer service rep from my insurance co. who was trying to help me resolve an issue was on hold for 40 minutes, she asked to have someone paged, and then was sent back to on hold. Ultimately, I left without getting the generic prescription my doctor called in because the person using the system said it would not allow her to fulfil the request even though it was a generic and the doctor indicated "or substitute." Crazy. I must now go back to my doctor and am asking to send RX to a different company's pharmacy as I don't have the time to deal with this. The other key service issue is that even if your prescription is called in, they don't begin to fill it until you show up in person. The person behind me came in because they had a text it was ready, but it was not in the bin. I don't even bother calling anymore. I do feel sorry for the employees because there is high turnover and angry customers. CVS corporate has to see the poor customer service metrics, employee turnover rates and know there is an issue, but perhaps they are valuing only the high volume/profits. read more

CVS Pharmacy (Olney, MD) is the absolute worst of the worst. Do I want a CarePass? No. Do I want pharmacy & health rewards? No. Why? Solely because of this pharmacy. Charanjeet, the pharmacists, and all the staff are horrible. The entire experience is terrible. I left the 'on hold' music (already playing for over an hour drive) continue playing on speakerphone while entering the store and waiting in line. I could literally see them disregarding phone calls. The reviews/comments speak for themselves...DO NOT GO HERE. The Harris Teeter across the street is a much better option. That's where I'll be going in the future. If I'm lucky, I will never use my ExtraCare Card again, meaning I'll never go to this CVS again. Btw, the CVS Pharmacy (Ashton, MD) is a much better alternative as well. DO NOT USE THIS CVS! I dropped my prescription off (anti-seizure) this morning at 9 AM, letting them know that it is imperative that I get it filled today - was told it would be ready no later than in an hour. Returned after work at 8:30 PM (almost 12 hours after they told me it would be ready) only to be told that it is not ready and they would need at least another hour. When I explained what I was told and how important it was that I get my medicine they told me "sorry we've been busy". This CVS shows no business or patient ethics and does not care about people in need of their meds. read more

This is a great place, they always have my rxs in stock, and any other ones i need randomly. Have you ever been to pharmacy and they say "we can order that for tomorrow or next monday" and you're like "great, i'll be dead by then. thank you for your help"--that's the opposite of this place. Everything always in stock Other than that, it's 24/7, both the normal store and the pharmacy. it's literally everything you can ask for, and they have over a dozen employees in the pharmacy working nonstop. they're dedicated and great at what they do. read more

Tonight I went into the Olney CVS to pickup a prescription and this Asian female pharmacist came over asked me my DOB and name. Once provided, asked her about the prescription my doctor put in for me and I had a coupon. I was aware that I needed priority authorization but was denied but wanted to purchase the medicine anyway without insurance coverage because my doctor supported it. She walked away and started talking to co-workers about someone calling in about their car being stolen and laughing about it. She never came back. Another woman came up, and I asked her if I could used the coupon even though my insurance denied, she stated we don't have anymore of that prescription, we are out and walked away. I was devastated because I had been waiting for three weeks, suffering from depression. I got in my car and just cried and then I wanted to go back in an slap her but I knew that wasn't going to be good. I got in my car and drove home devastated. I don't ever want to see those two women again. I feel hate just thinking about them. read more

This pharmacy is terrible - it seems that no one knows what they are doing and is extremely unorganized. Was told that my prescription would be ready in 20 minutes, came back in 30 and despite hearing my name called was told that it still was not ready. Had to wait an additional 15 minutes surrounded by other people waiting around the pharmacy, which is uncomfortable on a normal day when there isn't a global pandemic. Will go anywhere BUT here going forward to fill my prescriptions. read more

The practitioner has horrible bedside manners - told me that he didn't want to scare me but used words such as "alarming" and told me, "I just don't want you to have a heart attack at 40" (and I'm over 40).
