Harriet's is the rooftop bar of the One Hotel in Brooklyn which I have frequently stayed at. Both the hotel and the bar are great and the views are hard to beat. The food and drinks are all reasonably priced and the service is excellent. Not sure what's up with all of the bad reviews, but then again everyone has a different experience. Maybe the service was better/more attentive as my friend and I went midday on a Tuesday- not sure though. All in all, I think Harriet's is definitely worthy of a visit. read more

This place is beautiful however for the price and the service , eat somewhere else. I tried to eat lunch in the rooftop and waited 20 min for cold fries. It was not busy or packed and is unacceptable at this hotel. I've stayed and ate at the one in Miami , but never had bad food or service . So go for the views, but maybe hit top market or shake shack like I did to get good service.( I even had the waitress touch the fries ) cause sometimes these fancy places think it's because of the price that you are complaining. I came here to celebrate my sister's bday. The service was amazing and the food was good. The view is out of the world, we came before sunset and was able to take a lot of photo and after we drink and eat, we went to the rooftop to take more photo. Harriet's is a bar/lounge on the rooftop of 1 Hotel in downtown Brooklyn. The entrance is a bit hard to find, but once you're inside, take one of the express elevators up to the rooftop. The views are AMAZING to say the least. Definitely the reason someone would come. The drinks, with the exception of the Froze are not good. They're not flavorful and are a bit watery. The food was better. Tator tots were surprisingly seasoned and the Waygu sliders were very tender and tasty. Aside from those items, our party didn't enjoy their food. Service was terrible on the day we came (a Sunday afternoon) but the staff was very apologetic and even brought us Proseccos on the house, since they were unstaffed and the waits for staff were very long. Now that I've been, I doubt I would ever go again. The view isn't a big enough draw to make up for the lackluster and very pricey food and drinks. read more

Came here on a Sunday night for dinner and drinks. The space is beautiful. There are large, velvet booth seating and cocktail lounge seating with a panoramic view of the city. You can even see the Statue of Liberty. Upon our arrival, we were told there is a $50 minimum spend per a person and our vaccination cards were checked. Our waitress, Shanequa was great! She attended to us right away and was very warm and attentive. The food was good. We ordered most of the menu. The lobster bao being my favorite. I also highly recommend the spicy edamame. That sauce is bomb! I wasn't crazy about the steak frites. It was lacking flavor and wasn't cooked to my requested temperature. This place is dimly lit, stylish and lively. As most of the other reviews say, come here for views. We came right before sunset. It was pretty busy. We had a reservation inside, but got to admire the view from the outside roof deck before going in and it really is amazing and spectacular. It's probably the best view you can get of the entire city. It's important you walk in with the right expectations- This is not a dinner place. This is a bar that serves some food. We got cocktails which were pretty good. The coconut spritz was definitely the best. Service was definitely slow and it didn't seem to be the main priority of the bar at all for food. We got sushi and edamame, which were all really good. The Dumbo roll was delicious. But it's just important you walk in knowing this is a views centered bar that probably caters to tourists. So for example, they wouldn't put a candle on a dessert if it's someone's birthday. It's just not that kind of place. Views really are amazing though go for a drink and just take it in and watch the sunset. That's what I would do but maybe eat somewhere else if it's a special occasion. read more

After we dined at the Osprey downstairs, we went upstairs to Harriet's Rooftop. We got tickets for the Polar Lounge, but when we got there, the staff said that there was no more Polar Lounge. We never got an email or phone call regarding this, so this was a shock to us. We didn't pay in advance at least, but I do think they should have notified guests with reserved tickets that the event is no longer happening. We decided since we were here already, we might as well get drinks and check out the view. It was nice, but the service was extremely slow and we had to chase down our server for menus, for napkins, and again for the check. The view was beautiful here though! We didn't try the food, but the drinks were very creative. So many things I've never heard of, and had to Google to try and figure it out. They don't taste strong because of the fruitiness but geez, these things are good and they hit you. And what better way to have a cocktail then to overlook the Brooklyn Bridge. Gosh it's really hard for an Asian from Hawai'i to judge because with sushi we have high expectations. We got the spicy tuna roll, shrimp tempura roll, hamachi sashimi, karaage chicken and tater tots. The tater tots was actually the best thing. It was nice fusion using the okonomiyaki style with fish flakes. The sushi was not my favorite and we couldn't even finish it was that bad. The shrimp tempura roll has a pineapple sauce that deviates a bit too much flavor wise. The chicken was definitely not karaage (fried and crunchy). It was a cross between orange and teriyaki chicken plus extra salty. We also couldn't finish. There's a $100 min per person (ekk). I get the mixed reviews of this place, so I'll preface with: do a quick menu search and set up realistic expectations! There is a min spend, which was $50pp on a weekday. The rolls are just ok, the burger is the most "filling" option with a side of fries good enough for everyone to steal a few. Drinks: definitely pricey at $20, but the cocktails were good! Young guys wearing shorts I don't even know if I could squeeze into were surprisingly attentive! Where to begin, me and my girlfriend were guests at the 1hotel Brooklyn bridge from Hollywood. The hotel itself is amazing. Very nice staff, nice rooms and ambiance Harriets rooftop: Horrible. tourist trap with awesome views. Really wanted to like this place but I just couldn't do it, our server ana was very unfriendly and not welcoming. Didn't seem like she wanted to be there or was having a bad day. Look, I get it. I've been in customer service before at restaurants in LA. But no matter what your still at work so just gotta fake it. If it were that bad just call off that day! The others working seemed very nice and hostess was amazing also The food: Being in Los Angeles and Orange County we have some of the best sushi around. The tuna tartare was unexplainable, just bad. My friend and I came for dinner and drinks and were seated and waiting for at least 10 minutes before we had to waive a waiter down to tell them that we were ready to have our order taken. At one point, I got up to go to the bathroom and since the dining area is roped off, I asked one of the wait staff if there was another way to get to the bathroom, or if I could just step over the rope. After they answered my question and I started to make my way to the bathroom, a bartender, Raven, very rudely (and "jokingly") said "Do you expect us to move it for you?" - this of course, was not said to my face, but to the wait staff I asked the question to. Unacceptable. I did not feel welcomed and the very rude comment from Raven was the icing on top of an already spoiled cake. Harriet's Rooftop is otherwise a cute vibe, but unfortunately our experience was overshadowed by poor, rude service. We will not be returning. read more

Amazing view. It was freezing outside so we sat in the lounge rather than the rooftop. They had really uncomfortable chairs in the lounge so make sure to sit in the booth instead. The menu is a simple bar menu but we decided to try the edame dip. It sucked. The drinks were definitely better than the food. The cocktails are well crafted and definitely done right. The view is incredible especially at night so I highly recommend. FYI, the per person minimum does not apply to people staying at the hotel which is a good perk. I understand why they have a minimum since people would probably sit there all night and enjoy the view without buying drinks. Definitely worth checking out if you are visiting Brooklyn. read more

This is a review from my visit on March 11, 2021 - this is a gorgeous place. The view looks over lower Manhattan as well as the Brooklyn Bridge and DUMBO. I had the Lobster Bao and a red wine from Napa Valley. The Lobster Bao was very beautiful but it's a small portion size, so in retrospect if you are very hungry order something else as well. I came at 4:30 PM which was not busy at all, but as I was leaving more guest began arriving - I'd imagine that by 6PM the place will be much more crowded and you maybe waiting for sometime before you get your food. I really wished they had more on their menu - Maybe it's because of the pandemic - a lot of restaurants have cut back on they serve. But this is hard to say. Bathroom are super clean and also have an incredible view of the Brooklyn Bridge - no joke the bathroom views are just as good as the bar view. Upstairs is an outdoor lounge. It's early March when I wrote this so they explained to me that at the end March/early April 2021 they will try to open the lounge. I do plan on returning here with a date one day. It really is a special place - just the menu is a little bit too small. About the cost - yeah it's pricey, but that is to be expected at a NY venue such as this. read more

WORST Rooftop I ever went to. Don't waste your beautiful weekend night in this place. There are other places you can definitely go and enjoy a much better experience. They told you the 100 minimum per person at reception, but you did not know there is a mandatory 20% tip charged automatically when you receive the bill, interesting. What's more interesting was that we asked for hot water that there was a charge of $3 for it. I mean, hot WATER. Dude, it's 100 ml water in a cup. And the other waiter told me there should be no charge on water, but our waitress charged us on that anyway. You want to hear something more interesting? the charge on hot water was listed as item 'Open Liquor'. Well this not liquor, and probably because there was no charge option for water in their billing system. Interesting, isn't it? I have been living in several states in the past, and this was the first time ever in my life, got charged for asking for water in a restaurant. This is serious, and it's more than typing here and sharing my experience: I am requesting a formal response on it, (I saw the restaurant is claimed by owner on Yelp). The manager, if you see this comment, I strongly believe it's necessary to contact me to resolve it, otherwise I do have follow-up steps to take. Came here for a quick drink and... ended up staying a lot longer than planned! It is a lovely view, the drinks were pricey but they were well made. We had classic margaritas, espresso martinis, and dirty martinis. All were expertly crafted. Based on the past reviews it seems this wasn't always the case, so I'm pleased this was our experience. We also ordered the shoestring fries (perfect, crispy) and the salmon fried rice - light and airy, the salmon wonderfully seasoned. Staff was a little offbeat and seemed flustered by the many people at the bar, but they were on the whole friendly.
