Upon checking in they upgraded us to the new Dive Inn tower, room was absolutely gorgeous with him and her sinks, huge king size bed and lovely shower. Harrahs offers complimentary valet which was a life saver for us and our luggage. During our 3 nights here it was nice to have our car come to us whenever we needed to leave. We had smashburger here although it was tasty it was a bit pricey but as expected at a resort. Coming on a Tuesday it was very relaxed at the pool and nice to hang out without it being jam packed. We made reservations at Tierra Y Mar for the 16th but unfortunately early morning I received a email cancelling our birthday dinner due to maintenance which was pretty upsetting so we drove back down to San Diego for our birthday. Besides our reservations being cancelled unexpectedly everything went really smooth here at Harrahs and I look forward to coming back soon.

There's plenty of eateries and bars with live entertainment, even a gift shop. The casino itself is modern, clean, and has spotless restrooms. We started with a hearty breakfast and coffee at Pala Cafe, which was awesome. The staff here is super friendly and stepped in to help whenever we looked lost. A hotel guest even went out of her way to tell us how much she loved her room stay. Game-wise, they have a good variety from penny slots to high rollers, plus a great mix of classic machines. Like any casino, the slots are hit-or-miss; some pay out a bit, others are tight. Although there's a smoke-free area, the smell lingers so I did see some people wearing masks due to the smell. We loved the outdoor patio with umbrella tables for a quick breather. Overall, we had a fun experience and will definitely be back!

Unfortunately, my family visited again this past weekend (June 4-7, 2026) and experienced another problem. This time, we were charged at a restaurant and sports bar that we never visited. As of today, no one from the casino has contacted us to apologize or make things right. We've spent hours on the phone with both our bank and the casino, with no meaningful resolution other than having to cancel our credit cards ourselves to prevent the charges from going through. We are extremely disappointed. Our family has been coming to Pala for more than 25 years, and it's upsetting to experience these issues. If these unauthorized charges are happening to other patrons as well, that is very concerning. What a shame to see a place we've enjoyed for so many years leave us feeling this way.

For years I've been wanting to try this place. After an outing in the Desert with my sister-in-law, we decided to try this restaurant it would be both our first time. My sister-in-law and I walked into the restaurant and found the place to be very busy as you would expect at dinner time. The crowd was mostly elderly, could be regulars. For appetizers, we ordered the potato skins. For our meals, I ordered the special of the day, Seabass with pilaf, and vegetables. My sister-in-law ordered the soft crab cake. And before our appetizer and meals arrived we were served a basket of rolls which looked like regular rolls, but when you bit into them, they were warm and very tasty. Both of our meals were very good. Sadly we had no room for dessert. Where our table was situated, we could see pretty much the entire restaurant. The only thing that was not visible was the sitting bar but everywhere you sat, you would be looking out a window. It is all around the windows. One of the window area they had hummingbird feeders hanging, and you could see the hummingbirds haven't their dinner as well. Service was very friendly. My husband and I recently snuck away for a quick staycation at Valley View Casino & Hotel, and it was such a nice time. Even though the property is strictly 21-and-over (so not kid-friendly), it gave us a much-needed chance to recharge--even if we did catch ourselves missing our little boy the whole time. The hotel rooms felt brand-new, super clean, and very comfortable. It was so nice coming back to a spotlessly fresh space after spending time downstairs. The casino floor is split into designated smoking and non-smoking sections, which makes moving around comfortable for everyone. They also have convenient complimentary drink stations throughout the floor for quick refills. As for dining, we've eaten at almost all of their spots. From quick bites to sit-down meals, there's always something good to grab. Tips: Sign Up for the Players Club First: Before you sit down at a machine or head to dinner, stop by the Players Club desk. It's free to join, gets you instant match play/offers, and unlocks access to their famous Maine Lobster Buffet once you tier up. Book Hotel Rooms Early: Because the hotel is a boutique setup with limited room counts, weekends book out fast. Plan ahead if you want a weekend overnight stay. Have you visited Valley View yet? When I explained all of his training and then tasks they said he was not "acting like a service dog" and they said they watched footage of us waiting for a minute while they were coming and that he was "pulling on his lead" and "not patting attention" I said I take an accusation like this very seriously and that if they are truly claiming that I want all of this is writing and documentation of him "not acting like a service dog" as well as that video evidence of him not acting like a service dog. I then unfortunately had an episode due to the drama of it all to which my dog tasked and my husband stepped up and took over. They then realized they had messed up, changed their mind and said "we will allow it just this time" Absolutely ridiculous. My dog has gone through extensive training, been certified through two trainers, has passed his CGC and public access and the audacity for a security guard to say he wasn't acting like a service dog because he wasn't looking up at me every single second is ridiculous. They are not robots, he can get stepped on if not careful, he checks in every 10-15 seconds and alerts just fine. They would not show us footage of him "not acting like a service dog" which makes me think they were just lying to try and not allow us entry. I'm only writing this review so others don't feel absolutely awful since the valley view security treats people as the service dog police. I understand people abuse and lie about service animals, but it was quite obvious my dog is trained. To be questioned like a that was awful and just sad. Just be for warned you're going to be questioned like a criminal and may or may not be allowed entry with a service animal.

Fantastic let's do that. In the mean time feel free to use the pool, bathroom on the left to change. Went the pool. Two pools, not huge but has a little bar. The pool wasn't crowded but we struggled to find a chair that wasn't reserved with a towel; we spotted 1 empty chair under an umbrell, as we approached a young gentleman grabbed the chair at took it across the pool to the umbrella his family was under. Lol. Okay. We just sat our things on the concrete under the umbrella hoping it wouldn't be long and enjoyed the pool. After checking a couple times and our encounter with the OTHER, older front desk lady; our room was ready at 4. That's check in time. The room was large and pretty nice; we did notice the floors were a bit "damp". The little patio with the chairs and view, very nice. We were able to hear the live music coming from marina bar as we were sitting outside of our room taking in the view. We took out a paddle boat that was complimentary at check in. The lake itself is very nice, pretty peaceful considering it sits smack-dab in the middle of a neighborhood. What makes my review a 3.8 isnt the accommodation. Recommended. Its front desk staff, in particular the second one i mentioned. She should enjoy her job more.

Lakehouse Resort in San Marcos has an attractive setting and presents itself as a polished resort…read moredestination, so I was disappointed that the condition of the room did not reflect that same level of care. Upon arrival, we noticed chips and debris left on the carpet, which immediately suggested that the room had not been thoroughly vacuumed or properly inspected before check-in. In the bathroom, there was a woman's hair left in the shower, and some of the towels did not appear as fresh and clean as one would expect from a resort-level property. When staying at an upscale hotel or resort, cleanliness should be seamless and unquestionable. Guests should not have to inspect the carpet, shower, or towels and wonder whether the room was fully serviced before their arrival. Those details are fundamental to the overall guest experience. The property itself has many appealing qualities, but the housekeeping shortcomings significantly affected our impression of the stay. At this price point and level of presentation, I expected far greater attention to detail and a stronger quality-control process before rooms are released to guests. With more consistent housekeeping and room inspections, Lakehouse Resort could provide the experience its setting and branding suggest. Unfortunately, our room did not meet that standard.

Among only a few of their disappointments are- extremely long waits on hold; no call backs; there was a problem with a credit card and they end up sending me to a collections , saying that they had tried to call me an email me and call me but there was no record! So the lied! I had to spend much extra time getting that off my record but I still had to pay a couple of hundred dollars just for the fees and Welk/Hyatt took no responsibility. They have sent my points on to Interval without my permission and then told me they were doing a courtesy by giving me back my points! Then when I said, I want to keep all of my points with you for this time, they ended up suspending 180 /240 points- after paying two thousand dollars for HOA fees. They could have made an exception... Joyce simply did not care....terrible customer service. She told me I could exit and try to sell the property ( and that is very difficult , because people have a wizened up to timeshares scams? ) Joyce from resolutions was very cold and rude.... I look at that as theft. They might seem nice , but they don't take care of their clients and they make a lot of mistakes and they don't remedy them. And who knows why they have that kind of attitude? Maybe they are not paid well or treated well , and that's why they treat their clients as such. I've also stayed in rooms that had no hot water. And the showers weren't working! But most of the time , the rooms are beautiful. If you want to stay at the Welk or other resorts, the best way to do it is booking directly with the resort. They will tell you that the time sure is the best way.But it's not. Save yourself a lot of heartache and don't do timeshares; it's definitely a waste of much of your energy trying to book w them and deal with all the mishaps. And unkindnesses.
