I stayed here for the first time last weekend. It's incredibly charming and cozy, small, humble, affordable and old. All the of my favorite adjectives for quaint hotels. The Palomar Inn is right on Front Street in Old Town, Temecula, my new favorite place. I over heard the manager saying something to a lookie-loo about it being haunted. I experienced nothing out of the ordinary. Except the ghost that pushed the remote into the sink but, other than that, it was pleasant and calm. Right in the heart of Old Town you just can't go wrong with this little place. It's got a tiny sink in the room, a TV a big bed and a twin bed. The bathroom is at the end of the hall and shared by four other rooms, I think. Very hostel/bed-n-breakfast like. I would totally recommend it. If you're into some lame things like a Hilton, then you should probably stay at a Hilton. If you like unique charm, Palomar Hotel is your place.

corner of Front and 5th. the upstairs corner room is Room 1, where the people-watching is stellar.

we spent the weekend here and we are in love. we love quirky, old hotels and the Palomar Inn brings you back in time. it's evident that they are trying to preserve the original charm. parking is a bit of a bear, but we managed to find street parking close by. the greatest thing is the location. you're in the heart of old town front street. we walked the town both days and really enjoyed the shops and restaurants including Viva Vino, the tapas place behind the hotel on 5th run by the same owners. the hotel itself was cold on this rainy february weekend, but we had a space heater in our room which made it nice and cozy. Andrea, the inn keeper, is the sweetest! she is very personable and made us feel like we were a guest in her own home. we will definitely be coming back to visit! here's a few tips: since this hotel is very ma-and-pop, when calling to book your room, call after noon. the owners are usually up late every night closing their restaurant. also, the bar scene on front street is pretty wild on the weekends, if you're looking for a quiet getaway stay during the week. but this weekend wasn't bad for us at all, and we had to be up early. don't freak out about the shared bathrooms. they are very clean and spacious. you definitely take a step back in time in this old western gem. we can't wait to go back!

Two thumbs down from the Bachelorettes!

My wife and I were married on October 11, 2025, and every moment--from our very first venue tour to the final minutes of our wedding night--was exceptional. Julie was at the heart of it all. After visiting several venues in the area, Temecula Creek Cottages immediately stood out as the clear choice. Not only is the property stunning, but the cottages themselves were incredibly convenient and had everything we and our wedding party needed. From day one, Julie was extraordinarily organized, thoughtful, reassuring, and genuinely a dream to work with. Her vendor recommendations saved us countless hours of planning, and we were thrilled with each and every one. I truly don't know how we would have brought our vision to life without Julie. Beyond being an outstanding wedding planner, she has a wonderful sense of humor and made the entire process fun. She was available whenever we needed her, start to finish, and by the end she felt like family. My wife and I cannot recommend Julie or Temecula Creek Cottages highly enough. Thank you a million times over to Julie and the entire team for making our dream day a reality.

From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the beauty, the serenity, and the undeniable charm that this property radiates from every corner. The grounds are stunningly beautiful--lush, thoughtfully maintained landscaping, picturesque pathways, and a sense of privacy that makes you feel as though you've stepped into your own hidden oasis. It offered the perfect blend of elegance and rustic romance, giving us the intimate atmosphere we were hoping for without sacrificing refinement or comfort. The scenery created the most breathtaking backdrop for our ceremony and photos; every angle felt like a magazine cover. The cottages themselves were absolutely perfect. Each one was cozy, comfortable, and full of character, creating an environment that truly enhanced the magic of the weekend. They gave us and our loved ones that "wedding retreat" feeling--quaint, warm, and incredibly special. Waking up on the property on our wedding day felt peaceful, grounding, and unforgettable. But beyond the beauty of the venue, what truly elevated our entire experience was working with Julie Edwards, owner of Simply Regal. Julie is, without exaggeration, the greatest wedding planner we have ever come across. Her talent, professionalism, and dedication are genuinely unmatched. From the very beginning, she approached our wedding with a level of care and creativity that was absolutely mind-blowing. Julie has an extraordinary ability to take your vision--even when it's not fully formed--and bring it to life in ways you didn't even realize were possible. She thinks of every detail, big and small, and executes with a level of precision and grace that made the entire day flow flawlessly. Her organization, her calm presence, and her intuitive understanding of what a couple needs (often before they even know themselves) transformed our wedding day into something truly spectacular. It wasn't just that she planned a wedding--it's that she crafted an experience. Every moment felt intentional, personal, and seamless. We felt supported, cared for, and genuinely understood throughout the entire process. Julie has a gift, and we are so grateful we got to benefit from it. If you're considering Temecula Creek Cottages for your wedding, do it. The venue is magical. And if you have the chance to work with Julie from Simply Regal, don't hesitate--she will elevate your day beyond anything you could imagine. Our wedding was absolutely perfect, and we owe so much of that to this venue and to Julie Edwards. They helped create memories we will treasure for the rest of our lives.

Oh, and by the way, the previous owner MURDERED someone on this property. LONG VERSION: Booked Wilson Creek Manor directly through Avantstay's website but the day before check-in I got an email saying they had to cancel my reservation because of a broken water heater. Why wouldn't you CALL instead of just emailing? My reservation was less than 2 days away, call and leave a voicemail. I called Avantstay immediately after I saw the email and the call gets routed to some overseas call center. The person can't help and says they'll reach out to the dept that handles this and I should hear back within the hour. 1.5 hours later I still haven't received a callback so I call again. Same response, said I should hear back in an hour. 1.5 hours later, still no call, I call again, now they say I should receive a call by 5pm (5.5 hours later). My check-in date is the NEXT DAY! 5pm might be too late because what if they don't call me back and everyone goes home for the day? Then they change their answer to someone will call back in an hour. But I've heard that one before. FINALLY someone who can help calls back and finds me a replacement property. After we hangup I discover a hiccup. One of the families staying with us was planning to bring their dog they noticed that the new property doesn't allow pets. We paid a pet deposit so this is something that Avantstay should've caught and pointed out. That family had to find a last minute accommodation for their dog so that was another added inconvenience. Another hiccup: I was told I'd receive check-in instructions the next morning. On the way to the property my wife asks for the details of how to get inside the property so she could send it to the other families. Realized I didn't receive those details. Had to call Avantstay once again. Another inconvenience. This is all BEFORE we even stepped foot onto the property. While on the property we discovered someone was MURDERED in that house. This spooked everyone and no one was able to sleep well. Here's the evidence: https://patch.com/california/temecula/murder-victim-alleged-scam-artist-accused-of-stealing-before "Unparalleled service", yeah right. Stay away from Avantstay.

When we went to visit the property, he not only showed up late, but did rush us through the property. At the sister property, there was plenty of work that needed to be completed, but we still wanted to see the property. He told us that we will have to have the music in the pool room due to the noise ordinances with the County of Riverside. We said that will not work for us due to us having approximately 100-150 people in attendance for the wedding. He then stated that we can do the dancing on the basketball court. We then went to visit the Que Syrah property and we were totally in love with the property. We had plans for having an April 2021 wedding and he said that he would send over the contract to us after the viewing of the property because we wanted to move quickly so we can book vendors for the day of and he informed us that he would provide us with the contract that states, "due to CoVID, if we have to cancel, we will give you 100% of the payment back". My wedding planner contacted him after we left and we were ready for payment and signature of the contract. He sent us back an email on Friday, June 19th, a week after visiting the properties, illustrating to us that he installed cameras due to a party that was thrown on his property the weekend before, where the tenants lied about the amount of occupants. I do not understand the importance of him letting us know about the installation of the cameras or the indecency of other occupants, but I thought he would elaborate on this. In the e-mail, he also attached a memorandum dated on the day of the property tour, June 12th, from the County of Riverside regarding CoVID and hosting big events being prohibited. Unbeknownst to us, there was a 150+ attendant wedding on his Que Syrah property on the weekend of September 26th. Unprofessionally, he did not let us know of any changes and clearly did not want to do business with us. Him bringing up the cameras and all of these different excuses of not wanting to do business with us, made me feel very discriminated against ESPECIALLY, if he is holding big weddings on his property AFTER he sent over an email including a mandate regarding him not being allowed to do big events on his property. Throughout this process, he was highly unprofessional and it is unfortunate that he refused to do business with us or return any emails to my wedding planner.

We were especially impressed with the nice bathroom with large shower and separate tub. Check-in was easy; like an Airbnb a simple code for room entry was provided and payment was made online. The property feels secluded and private and is very well maintained. There were only 4 or 5 rooms, I think, at this property. Each room has its own designated parking space. Like an Airbnb, bring your own amenities; other than soap and towels, nothing else was provided in the bathroom. There is a pool and hot tub but I never even saw either as they were on the back side of the complex and we pretty much just wanted to chill in the room. We planned a stay here just to relax and rediscover what a nap is. The huge downside for us was that the walls here are paper thin. The noise from the room next to us kept us from being able to relax or sleep and even woke us up the following morning. Conversations, the television, and the lovely sounds of snoring could be plainly heard by us. The most irritating noises from next door were the sounds of a babbling toddler who enjoyed running around the room; we were mistaken to think this is an adult-only type of villa. While we loved the room the noise didn't conform with our want of a relaxing vacation space.

In fact, if I were to design a vacation family home I would use this floor plane almost exactly! The bedrooms were nicely placed and each had their own full bathrooms. The primary suite had a bathtub and a twin trundle bed which met our family's need for our family with 2 young children. The 2nd and 3rd bedrooms were adjacent to the primary and had their own full baths with showers. Each of those bedrooms had Queen sized beds, which I must admit I hope the owner will consider changing at least the middle bedroom (plenty of space to do do) to a King sized bed. The 3rd bedroom might be tight but I would rather have a King sized bed and no night stand (personal preference). Also, the main area noise does carry straight back to the middle bedroom so place your heaviest sleepers in there! A door between the kitchen and the bedrooms would really help that but that would not stop me from renting this lovely home again! Main area and kitchen were nicely appointed and super comfortable. Fireplace worked beautifully! Games were stocked under the bar area. In warmer weather sliding doors could be opened for a huge open entertainment flow. We made breakfasts and lunches no dinners but the kitchen had everything you would need for meal prep( bring extras like foil and spices). Moving downstairs. We had a 2 year old so a door or baby gate up top would be recommended. I was surprised the downstairs floor was concrete. It does show that when I looked back at the photos but I just hadn't noticed. They do have a rug under the sofa/tv area and a fireplace. The area was really completely self contained and perfect for one of our families. Again, a King sized bed would be appreciated in the main bedroom and as the listing stated you HAVE TO ENTER THE 5TH BEDROOM THROUGH THE 4TH BEDROOM. This was perfect for our family with kids but would be a little odd if another couple were staying there. It is a bunkroom so I feel like it would only be used for families with kids so it was perfect! Both these bedrooms had no windows so they were great for sleeping in! Also, the downstairs had it's own heating system so you could completely control the downstairs temp which is not always the case. Big bonus! WIFI was slow when using our devices but the TV did not ever buffer while watching. Downstairs access right out to the firepit which we used to make Smores was perfect. House was SUPER clean upon arrival! I swept up the crumbs we produced after the first day then mopped the upstairs main area (neat freak) and the mop cover did not get full of dirt indicating the floor had been previously cleaned very well! Uber impressed! They do have you remove your trash to containers on property prior to check out but that was understandable and not a problem. Plenty of hot water. Water pressure good. House was not preheated upon arrival but warmed up super fast one HVAC was turned on. Jacuzzi was preheated upon our arrival so no waiting for it to heat. Lots of towels both bath and jacuzzi. This house is remote as stated. Down the end of a paved road. Gate to unlock (maybe install a motion activated light so we could read the lock at night) and then down a dirt road at lease a mile I would say. I personally LOVED the quiet. Someone else might be a bit uncomfortable with that. We left during a rain storm and the dirt road seemed fine. I don't know if that would be a problem had it rained many days or heavier. There are cameras at the entry gate to the property and someone does come EVERY time you leave and make certain the gate is locked. This was a comfort to me as someone is making certain only our party entered. The outdoor front patio could have been cleaner (dirt and leaves blown) but to be fair it was Fall and you are in the wilderness. Plenty of outdoor parking behind house. House is about 20 minutes from Old Town where we dined every night when not attending wedding festivities 5 minutes away at Galway Downs. I would highly recommend this property.
