This place is great for me when I want to get my nails done before work. I've been here a few times to come back, prices are a little pricey but it's not easy finding a better deal any other place in Pasadena. They're always really nice and I never have had to wait as a walk in. Usually calling ahead helps too. Also if you pay cash you get a little discount. It's clean and they do a pretty good job! 3 stars because of how quickly I was seen and the quality of the work. The ladies were all very friendly too. Came in as a walk in on a Wednesday afternoon and was seated immediately even with the salon full. Got a gel pedicure and it turned out great. However the pricing is where I take off 2 stars. I called ahead of time to see what a pedicure would cost, I was told $25 for regular and $35 with gel. While I was getting my toes done I decided to get a manicure too just to clean up my shape and cuticles (didn't get any polish), and because I was told it was $15. I was asked if I wanted to do anything extra for either service (callous removal, polish on my hands) and I said no thank you just the basics today. When everything was finished I was handed a $45 bill for my toes and a $21 one for my hands. I was honestly too flustered to say anything and kinda just said F-- it, whatever (regretting it now). When I went to pay with my credit card I was asked if I had cash and if I did they could give me a discount. I said no and she gestured to the atm next to me. Again I said I'll just pay with card because I don't want to pay the atm fees and she asked "well how are you going to tip?" Assuming I would be able to tip when I signed the receipt I asked if I could tip with the card and she asked "okay how much do you want to tip?" Flustered again I increased my already $66 bill to $73 because I always feel bad not tipping, and because of how quickly I was seated and treated very nicely. Overall I am just very disappointed by the uncertainty of the prices here and wish they were posted/advertised more clearly. Maybe what I was told was the cash price?? Again, wish it was advertised as such, then there'd be no problem. First of all, out of all of the reviews I read before deciding to go here, none of them mentioned something very important, at least in my opinion! They have free electric massage chairs that putter away on you as you are getting your nails worked on!!! How cool is that! I've got me some nasty feet, with some even more nasty toes. The big toes on both of my feet have in-grown toe nails, so bad that they hurt pretty bad sometimes. And my eyes are so bad, that even with glasses, I can't see well enough to do much about it myself. After noticing the pain on both feet today, I thought to do something I had never tried before. I popped up Yelp and searched for "pedicure in-grown (zipcode)", where (zipcode) was of course my zipcode. After sifting through a few reviews for a few different businesses, I saw one that mentioned someones husband going here to have LYNN work on his ingrown toenails. So I called, asked for LYNN, told her my sitch, and she said come in in half an hour, so I did. Besides the chairs being electric massage chairs, they have these awesome foot tubs on them, each with their own plumbing, which allows them to easily flush out someones old used water and refill with fresh water for the next customer. She had it waiting for me with clean warmed water when I arrived, so we were able to get right to it. I was wondering how good of a job she could do, she not being any kind of a doctor and this not being any sort of medical facility. But LYNN is an artist of her craft. She knew exactly what tools to use and how to use them to remove the parts of my nails that were digging in. And she knew how to do it without it hurting, beyond how much they were already hurting of course. I wish I would have thought to do this a long time ago. Now I can go hiking again! In contest to a few bad reviews about this place, for my experience, I was cheerfully greeted right away by the gentleman at the front desk, and LYNN was extremely nice and professional. Everything looked clean. The only thing negative at all I have to say is that I got some strange looks from a couple of other employees. I assume maybe because I am a man in a place mostly women go to? Who knows, but homey don't care. There is metered parking on the streets, a pay lot across the street ($3 if I remember correctly), and around the block on De Lacey there is a city pay lot that allows 90 minutes for free. read more

The whole experience: Distasteful, unprofessional. First, two of my fingers got bleeding cuticles! No one was apologetic. Why bother, it wasn't them in pain. Second, as soon as I walked in there, Jennifer, the owner started pushing a service of eyebrow threading on me and I said no. Then she pointed me to the spa chair as if I was getting a full manicure and pedicure. I specifically told her on the phone I only needed to have finer nails fixed. What's more unbelievable was that after I said no to the spa pedicure, she insisted that since she heard me over the phone that I needed pedicure, now I have to have one no matter what. I ignored her. My toes were perfectly fine cause they just got done a week before. Why would you want to deal with this at a nail salon?! Then Jennifer pushed me to the edge. I went in for an $18 work of acrylic gel refill and got charged for $28. I assure you it wasn't the $10 that pushed me to say goodbye to them. Lynne insisted on doing a regular manicure for me when I told her what I had was an acrylic gel and I would like to have the same done. Trusting her experiences (which now I know is very much outdated), I let her go on. Half way through, she realized that she couldn't do the refill job. She complained that she could do acrylic gel but the owner didn't want to buy the material for her to do it!! Wow, how much can that cost??? Then later on, another girl, Nancy pulled out the whole set of acrylic gel material and did it for me?!!! I am confused. This is a place where employees don't share and talk to each other?! Jennifer, the owner later confessed to me that I really only needed a refill not a manicure. The usual acrylic refill is $18 and I am used to that. I felt ripped off when Jennifer insisted that I wanted the regular manicure on top of the refill and charged me $28. I paid what she asked me and paid tips to Nancy and fled. I am in general a pretty low maintenance gal, but since I turned 14 and no longer wanted to sport the "Frida" unibrow, I have been getting my eyebrows threaded. I used to drive all the way to Artesia from Pasadena to go to Ziba before it took off. About 5-6 years ago, my sisters and I found Jennifer! The owner of Harmony. She is the absolute best. The salon JUST opened about a week ago and I hauled my way over from Agoura Hills just to see her and the new place. It is located right on Pasadena Avenue between Green St. and Colorado, you can park on the bridge or street at a meter or valet or at the DeLacey garage. The salon is very chic, and has a very clean and kept feel to it. Her staff is kind and friendly, Lynn does the best pedicures. Harmony is open 7 days a week, which is great for the Sunday errand runners like myself. read more

If I could put minus 5 stars if I would .... We walked in they saud no problem, 20 minutes, its was a special night for my daughter and she and i wanted a mani pedi, I was going to get a pedi.. It took so long and as I sat there I realized they were so over booked but at that momnet they called my daughter and she sat down , I told them I would come in another day.. All the sudden my daughter yells my name I come over and she is bleeding, he cut into her finger it was bleeding so much... NO one knew what to do, I was saying , it needs to be cleaned and bandaged, they had NO first aid kit, NO bandages and were putting cotton on it which was sticking into the cut, The woman next to us got up from her pedi and took us to her car to get bandages.... 5 hours later it still hurts and the woman that gave us the bandages told us they cut her sister there before..... Really Scary... Its one thing to get a tiny cut, I have never ever had that happen but the fact they had NO idea what to do or anything to help us was truly shocking!!!! read more

Honestly. Horrible experience. They're voted one of the best and I was really shocked at their work. I went into on a Tuesday morning, shortly after they opened for the day, and chose out a gel color. After about 3 days it began to chip and I gave them a call Saturday morning. They asked me to come in the next day because they would not take care of me on Saturday. When I went back on Sunday morning, they buffed out the top coat of my nails and then just painted another layer on top of that buffed out top coat. When what they should've done was just start on fresh canvas on nails rather than short cut it and fix it the lazy way. Not even 24hrs later and it began to chip...not surprised. I was upset that I had to go in a third time. I went into the following morning. The manager whom I had spoke to about the issue initially was not there. They wanted me to come back the next day because the girl who first did my nails was not there but they had enough employees to help me out. They refused to accommodate me even after I was trying to be understanding about it after the second time of being there. The guy began to give me attitude and tell me how he couldn't do anything about it and I had to come back the next day unless I wanted to pay again to get them fixed. I was not going to pay extra for a job that should have been done correctly the first time. Not to mention it was a GEL nail polish. After back and fourth about it they agreed to "fix" the chipped fingers and yet again, they did it the lazy way and literally just applied nail polish to that spot....I was in shock. Horrible customer service. And surprise surprise, they began to chip the next day!! Haha this place is a joke. OK, I am not one to bad mouth any small business owner because I know how hard it is to get ahead these days.........buuuut, I feel I need to warn everyone about this place called "Harmony" Salon. Initially, I actually loved the place--the owner was very nice and seemed professional. I got my eyebrows threaded & a bikini wax. They were both so great, I was recommending the place to all my friends. However, the second time, I got a bikini wax from a different woman and she seemed very uncomfortable about the job--which seemed odd because she said she had been doing it for years...hmmmmm, not so great. I also got threading done again by the owner, who seemed rushed and preoccupied. I sat in the chair while she multi-tasked: threading my brows and chatting with her husband on the phone about whether to order in or eat out--by the way, they decided to order in... So, I charged the services and asked about adding gratuity. She looks at me & says "you don't have cash?" I say no. She fumes silently & then says "well, you can add it this time but next time bring cash". How bout I DON'T tip you? is what I was dying to say....but believing in "harmony", did not. The third time--and actually I blame myself because I should have known better by then...was just terrible. It was my birthday and so I wanted to treat myself to a mani-pedi. I made an appointment for three actually--myself, my mother & my sister. However my mom decided to skip it & just keep us company. So, you would think the job would go faster? No...that's just crazy talk. Despite the fact that I made the appointment and that it was my birthday (Yes, I am a ham & had to tell them...), I sat there waiting, waiting, waiting. Meanwhile my sister's pedicure was done before my mani was barely started. I thought the whole point of the appointment is to have it done at the same time. I ended up leaving and not even bothering with the pedicure. The owner didn't even seem to care...talk about a downward spiral! Guess I found my new threading joint! Jennifer is SUPERB. Like, wow. It's beyond words. I've only gotten my brows done at Vinita's in Westwood and every single time I've gotten it there, no matter how many times I had gone before, it always made me squint in pain just a little bit. Not here. Honestly, I wasn't even sure if she was actually removing anything until she was done and voila! And, my brows weren't red afterwards the way it usually is. I mean, she's fantastic. The salon is nice and bright too. The walls are a serene sea foam color and it's a really nice place. Only downside is that they don't have that many colors to choose from if you're getting your nails done, but honestly, the threading with Jennifer is more than enough to make me come back again. Cost wise, I got my brows and upper lip done for $18 (I think it was like, $12 for the brows and $6 for the lip). The mani/pedi was $28. Thanks Yelp! I know this is a cheap nail salon in southern California. I know what I am getting into. I have tried many of the salons around the Pasadena area. Decided to try this one since it's in walking distance to my new place. HOWEVER, it was not worth the time or money to come here. Should have driven to my usual spot. I was rushed to pick a color and then quickly rushed into a chair. Honestly only 30 seconds or so was allowed to choose a color. I originally came in for the deluxe pedicure since I read great reviews on the callus removal. Well after my lady rushed, rushed, rushed through rudimentarily trimming my nails and cuticles she asked what type of pedicure I wanted and I decided not to pay for this lady to rush through the extra callus removal. Meanwhile, someone started my fingernails but when another lady (who didn't seem to have an appointment) walked in for a eyebrow wax I was ditched mid-filing to wait for a new technician to finish my nails. Helen ended up doing my nails after my pedicure had finished and she seemed to do a nice job but also rushed through the entire service and left for the night before I had even paid. The receptionist seemed nice enough but when I was paying he said to let him know if I had a problem. Ok I thought, he noticed I wasn't happy with the service, but he simply waved off my concern that I felt very rushed and pushed around with "some people like us, some people don't". Well, I hope thats not their business motto! I'm rating 2 stars since the end product came out just plain fine. Not great...not terrible. However, I would gladly pay the same price (or lower) at any of the neighboring places in Pasadena and not feel so shoved around. read more

My co worker recommended me to this place, which is great because it's walking distance from my job. I made an appointment they saw me right away, offered me a drink even wine. My acrylics were a disaster, and the man who did my nails completely fixed them. Everyone was so friendly, I felt comfortable right away. And they work quick!! While this isn't a five-star place cost and amenities place like Burke Williams, it's easily five stars for what it is. I'm always able to walk in and be helped but it's not dead inside, it's bright and fresh with lots of windows and open doors, and the staff are polite and friendly-enough with good equipment, colors and skills. PROS: - Open 7 days a week! - Open later than most salons! - The owner Jen is so warm and gets to know her customers. - Gel manicure done by Sue & pedicure done by Michelle easily lasted 3 weeks. - Most gel colors have an exact match for non-gel colors for pedicures. DRAWBACKS: Note I say drawbacks and not cons because they really are not. - This is a busy salon with the ability to service a large number of people all at once. So it is not very "relaxing" but I suppose that is also why they can squeeze late appointment makers (like me). - It is located on the edge of Old Town so it falls into the same parking options. The 90 minute free lot on Delacy is about 1 - 1.5 blocks away, there is limited metered parking directly in front of the salon and there is a pay lot right across the street which depending on the day / time seems to run about $5.00 OVERALL So all in all I really enjoyed this salon!!! My husband and just recently moved to Pasadena from South Carolina so I had been doing research of good nail salons close to our home. Harmony is less than .5 mile from our house. So the distance was perfect. The guy at the front desk made things run smoothly and was nice enough to lead me in the direction a good Restaurant close by. I came here from a recommendation from a friend and I'm glad I took it!!! I came here around 10:30 this morning for an appointment with Jennifer for my eyebrows and I found parking easily on the streets of pasadena (free before 11:00am whoo hoo!!!!) I walked into the salon and was greeted so pleasantly by the staff there and Jennifer proceeded to thread my eyebrows. There is a minimum of $20 for credit card charges! I've had my eyebrows threaded before but no one has come close to what Jennifer does! I literally hadn't had my eyebrows down since December (i know... i've been a hairy beast for the past 3 months!) and she reshaped them and cleaned them sooooo well in less than 20 minutes!!! She wasn't aggressive like other people I have gone to! Usually the places I go there, I would go home and finish the job since I'll notice they missed some but Jennifer gets every last bit of hair! Their salon is really nice and had a good vibe when you go there! It's really clean and you get that harmonic feel when you're in there. Finally gave up on this place. They give preferential treatment to usual customers (even though I've been going there for a couple years now) and there is no attention to detail...especially customer service. Very factory like...no special touches about the space and the employees lack personality. Its a quantity over quality type of place. I knew I was done when one of the girls was talking on her phone while doing my manicure, the other one made my toe bleed and said nothing, then the day after my manicure, my nails we trashed after taking a shower (work of girl on the phone!) I am so glad I found Harmony on Yelp. Originally, I went to see Jennifer (the owner) to thread my eyebrows. When Jennifer is unavailable, her sister-in-law, Trang is also incredibly precise with the threading. I'm very particular on how my brows are shaped. On the side note, I recently divorced my nail salon, Delacey Nails (after 10 years) since my gal moved to the bay area. Luckily, I was introduced to another family member, Julie (the niece of Jennifer) who also does an exceptional gelicure, mani, or pedi. I went here for the second time, the first time I loved my nails. This second time I got a manicure and pedicure. The way they soaked my nails to get the gel off burned my skin. Then she kept filing and filing my nails down and they all ended up hurting :/ I would move my fingers , she would move on to another nail and come, come back to the previous one and keep filing! They have 3 coats of gel right now and 3 nails broke later that day. That's how thin my nails were left. Then my pedicure, my big toes are completely different. I had to remove my polish because my left toe was hurting more than my right. She had trimmed my left toe so short that it is hurting, it's super sensitive and red. Compared to my right toe, my nail is longer . I will say they are very nice and it's quiet but I do not like how thin my hand nails were left nor the different shape of my toes. read more

LOVE LOVE LOVE I've been going here for several years now, pretty much since i moved down to LA.. and i can say that i've been dragged by friends to other salons but Harmony Salon kicks butt 100x over any other place i've been the past 4 years... which is why i recommend this place to all my female relatives, friends, and pretty much anyone who's looking for a great place to call mani-pedi home. The salon itself is very clean, bright, and airy so you don't feel like you're breathing in toxic air.. plus everyone who works there is a sweetheart and i've never been disappointed with my mani/pedis~ love the warm lotion/scrub they use on the feet and hands.. and that they always have tons of magazines to browse through.. This place has saved my nails quite a few times. I've been getting my nails done here for the past few months on a regular basis. Mostly I've just gotten french mani/pedis with gel, but they have consistently lasted me a couple weeks at a time (and they'd last longer if I wasn't a perfectionist). The only problem I've had is when I got hair dye on a couple of my gel nails and it wouldn't come off. I went back into Harmony and they fixed it for free since I had just gotten them done the day before (and they were super cool about it). WIll definitely continue going back! read more

I saw TRAN for threading and she was amazing. I made an apt and came in early and she took me as soon as I got there. She sat me down and took control. She didn't even ask me what I wanted she just knew. The whole apt was less then 10 mins and my eyebrows have literally never looked better! I have only got them waxed in the past and every single time they get messed up somehow. This is my first experience with threading and I will definitely be a loyal customer to Tran!
