Kind of tough to rate a company that never really did work for you. For all I know their actual laborers do outstanding work but the customer rep and allegedly the owner sabotage the company. I usually I do more research but Harmony Home Improvement came recommended and their 3.5 yelp rating seemed good so I contacted them. I spoke with customer rep Drew who was quick to return my call. Apparently he did not need to physically look at the repair, it was minor and a picture via text sufficed. Appreciating the efficiency, I sent a picture and the next day he texted me and estimate. Impressive! I texted Drew back a few days later agreeing to the price & requesting to schedule. After not hearing from him, I called Drew the next day & he confirmed they would do the job. These guys are crooks. Be advised... they will rip you off. John Kavanaugh provided an estimate and requested fifty percent as a deposit. The team showed up two months later and without explanation.. the bill was four times higher than the estimate. One of the contractors brought a kid along and John billed the kid as a "man hour" of $125/hour. You will be extremely disappointed by the lack of professionalism. read more

Fair price. Workmanship was good. All that said, the workers literally tossed shingles and debris from the very top of my roof through shrubs and plantings in spite of the promise of tarps and protection. Then the owner was completely dismissive of the situation. No way to run a business. read more

They replaced my roof last fall and did a good job. They were professional and timely. They are not the cheapest in terms of price but also not the most expensive. I was willing to pay a little extra for the peace of mind that the job would be done professionally and without issues. They are also accredited by the Better Business Bureau which is also a plus. read more

They go back on their word by canceling projects when you ask them questions. Owner Dennis told me he could not estimate price to install interior door saying there were just too many factors involved. He turned it around on me and asked me what I expected to pay. I said less than $1,000. So he sends sales guy John who immediately tells me $925 before doing any measuring or inspecting. So much for all those factors that he needs to inspect in person. Sounds like they had my $1,000 budget in mind and went straight to the top. Called Dennis and sales guys John back to see if I could save some money by buying my own door and just pay them to install it. Their response was condescending. Dennis said "were not a handyman company." John said, "we need to put our name on the project." This is an interior door, not looking for anything fancy. Not rocket science. I asked them for an itemized list to see what work they were going to perform for the price and they got annoyed and texted me that they were "going to pass" on the project which they verbally agreed to do. I guess they aren't interested in pricing transparency or answering reasonable questions from homeowners. Won't recommend. read more

This is my own personal experience with Harmony Home Improvements in CT with the owner Dennis Bellamy. My husband and I hired Harmony Home Improvements to put a new roof on our home. Our roof at the time was only 10 years old but due to the horrible snow storms we received 2 years ago we had ice damning and some leaks on the inside of our ceilings. Mr. Bellamy instructed that we needed a brand new roof and we also paid for additional ice & water membrane paper to go on roof to prevent this from happening again. We have 2 areas on our ranch home that do not have much of a pitch so we had the entire roof area covered with ice & snow membrane instead of the "normal" 3 feet from the edge of roof. My Bellamy assured me with the additional ice and snow paper on the roof we would not have an issue with water getting in again even if the ice were to get under the shingles...this is why we paid for the additional product. Within one week of having and paid for my new roof of $7000. I had a leak in my master bathroom. I called Dennis at Harmony and explained the issue and he was hesitant to come take a look. I have a very good friend who is a reputable builder in the area of over 30 years come and take a look at the roof and he said the boot vent was leaking. I called Dennis back again and told him what my friend said and he was again hesitant to come and implied, that was NOT the issue. However when Dennis got here we went up in the attic and ran water on roof and found that his workers had put a boot on the home which was cracked. He then replaced it but would not paint my ceiling in my bathroom where the water leaked. He said, that he was not responsible for that. My roof is less than a year old and came with a 100% warranty. We just had a snowfall a week ago and my roof over my son's room that has entire ice and snow membrane on it is leaking and water is dripping through his beautiful new wood ceiling onto the new bamboo floors which have started warping. My son went away to college so we haven't used that room and did not notice the water was coming in. I called Harmony Home Improvement immediately about this emergency and he sent one of his techs out to take a look. We have a gutter on the edge of the roof where it leaked and it was icing over. My Bellamy called me and said, he is not responsible for fixing my roof due to the ice damning. My Bellamy would not even take the time to come here himself to pull the shingle up and make sure that the ice and snow membrane was put down properly or to ensure that the entire roof was indeed covered with the ice and snow paper that we paid for. People make mistakes, we are human and perhaps a mistake was made...he was not willing to find out what the problem was he just blamed it on ice damns. I then called me friend who is the builder and told him of this problem and he said "the roof is NOT right"...that would not happen if it was done properly. I have no doubt that this is very poor workmanship, and the fact that we have a warranty and Dennis is unwilling to do the right thing is just beyond me! My purpose for this letter is to warn everyone, if you are considering any repairs on your roof or home I would really think twice before you hire Harmony Home Improvements. My husband and I bought our home in 2007, we have only had 2 instances of our roof leaking. One was when we had the horrible amount of snow a couple of years ago and the second after Harmony Home Improvements replaced our roof. I have now paid $400 for a tarp and to have a professional tarp my brand new roof so water won't come in. I am seeking professional opinions on my roof and will follow through with Harmony Home Improvements in the near future. read more
