My masseuse, Cindy, was working hard with all of the rapid movement, so much that she was out of breath with this unique approach. Some may consider it rough, but my muscles can take a beating so I was fine with it even with a little pain in the process. I particularly enjoyed the leg and foot massage which focused on the outer leg and pressure points on the foot. It was effective for me. The face hole on the massage bed was slightly uncomfortable, and the temperature in the room was a bit cold with the AC running strong on a not-so-hot day, but I hung in there. I liked the music playing in the background, a combination of classical tunes and instrumental renditions of songs like Hallelujah and Ghost by Justin Bieber. Paying at the end via credit card, with a cash tip, was straightforward without any problems.

She also said she does not handle billing, but did not clearly explain who does or who I should contact. What made the experience worse was the attitude. When I tried to understand who handles billing, bookings, and patient communication, she responded defensively and said, "Oh, now you are saying I don't do anything," which was not what I said. I was simply trying to understand who was responsible for what, especially since she had said she does not handle billing or appointments for all doctors. The most upsetting part was being personally insulted and called a "sad person who makes other people sad." That is completely inappropriate in any service environment, especially in a healthcare or wellness practice where patients come for care and support. This was not the first time she referred to me as a "sad person," and it felt dismissive and disrespectful, especially as someone coming in with severe shoulder pain and trying to resolve basic billing and appointment issues. I appreciate that type of massage, but this time I came in with acute back pain. She honed in and went right to it. Honestly, at first it seemed rougher, but it was clear her expertise provided the relief I needed. I did not even mention any other pain points but as she worked, she identified three other pain areas that I've been dealing with for months. That's how I knew she has a keen understanding of how the body should move and feel, and the skill to guide my muscles/fascia back to where they should be to be able to function properly and without pain. She adjusted her technique as she felt my body could tolerate (e.g. she threw in some Thai massage technique to lengthen and stretch at the end). After 60 minutes, my pain levels reduced significantly from 7/10 to 2/10. I couldn't believe it! My heel pain of six months was gone!
