I have only been the one time but have heard and continue to hear great things about the Harlem Java House. They offer coffee flights, different breakfast quiches and pastry items and they have water and soft drinks as well. They have a ton of different seating options from tables and chairs to couch's and armchairs. Outdoor seating is available as well. Service is a counter service type where they take your order and then call your name when your order is ready.

I had been wanting to check out the locally owned and operated Harlem Java House since it opened, but my daily life rarely takes me over that way so I hadn't gotten around to it until recently. I severely regret taking so long but I've been making up for it with numerous visits since! This small town jewel is located in the charming historic downtown area of Harlem. With streetside parking available directly in front of the shop, a patron can pull right up to the outside seating area, which boasts a few metal tables and chairs and a red umbrella for shade. Entering Harlem Java House, I immediately felt at ease in the calm atmosphere. The ambiance is cozy and casual; the natural light coming from the street facing windows highlights the open ceilings and exposed brick accents along with the eclectic decor. The seating is varied; there are wooden tables of different sizes (including a long communal style one) with metal stools, a bench seat, or chairs as seating options. My personal favorite spot is the area with a plush couch and armchairs, they help create the vibe that you're just relaxing and hanging out at a friend's house. Combined with their free wifi, I could sit here and relax for hours. The baristas were friendly and welcoming and were happy to suggest some blends and ways to customize my order. The items I ordered came out quickly and were made to perfection. *insert chef's kiss here* (The first time I visited I finished my drink before I even arrived home and seriously thought about going back and ordering another! I solved that problem going forward by ordering 2 each visit! ) The menu was filled with options from coffee to teas to Italian sodas and smoothies (they even have protein coffee), each with multiple flavors or specialties to choose from. It was hot out so I opted for one of my usual go-to drinks, an iced chai, and after the first sip I knew I'd be coming back for more. I haven't had an iced chai that good in YEARS! The menu includes an array of snacks such as pastries (I highly recommend the snickerdoodle muffin), sandwiches and quiche. Harlem Java House also offers seasonal "croffles." What are croffles? (I didn't know either!) A quick google search told me that: popularized in South Korea, croffles are a blend of croissant & waffle. One look at the photos on HJH's instagram will have you ordering at least two! HJH was the first to bring "croffels" to the CSRA, (the next closest one to us is 2.5 hrs away on the outskirts of Atlanta.) Another fun thing they offer is coffee "flights". If you're like me and you're picky or can't choose what new thing to try, flights give you the perfect opportunity to sample a range of flavors at once. The prices are reasonable for a coffee house, obviously not as cheap as making your own at home, but comparable to most coffee shops. They offer a loyalty perks card that you can have stamped with each cup you buy, making every 10th cup free of charge! Overall, I was highly impressed with Harlem Java House with their only downside being that it's a 30 minute drive from my house in a direction I don't usually go. I now find myself making reasons to drive out their way just to have an excuse to stop by!

Chocolate Covered Strawberry Mocha

Wonderful coffee shop!! Super cute and great environment to spend some time in, kind people and calm music. I had the chocolate covered strawberry mocha and it was super good. They also have a cool assortment of small-business type trinkets on sale & board games to play. Love it for my remote job, I definitely will be coming back!

There are a few deep joys in my life. Two of which are coffee and hidden gems in a community. Harlem Java House is that, and far more. But first let me talk about the location. If you don't live in the area and find yourself traveling down I-20 while reading this review, just don't you can be parked and walking in about 10 minutes after getting off the interstate. With comfortable indoor seating, spacious outdoor seating, and yes a restroom why not take the time to unwind and recharge? For the locals, I can hear you now. "But that's allllll the way in Harlem." Listen, we don't hesitate to travel to Atlanta and Columbia and Savannah for a concert or delicious food and good ice cream. Harlem is literally the same distance from Augusta as Aiken. And you don't even have to take the interstate to get there! You'll park, get coffee/latte/Matcha/muffin/pop tart/all of the above and then discover there are more sites to visit. A antique store, ice cream shop, the Laurel and Hardy Museum-Welcome Center, and more. And are you ready for something wild? Next door is a scuba diving shop! Yeah diving gear, classes to become certified, all that. That alone is worth the trip. The coffee and espresso here is furnished by Buona Caffe, hands down one of the top roasters in the region. All pastries are housemade (including those aforementioned pop tarts-they do one with Nutella!). And the team here, always a smile and warm greeting. Always ready with a suggestion if you can't decide what to order or if you're wondering what community events are upcoming. And the ambiance here; it's like if lavender were a coffee shop. Local artists on the wall, other artisans with products such as candles and refillable soap, and then there are the events. Paint and sip is a big one. If you are interested in the space for a evening event, just ask for information. And lastly, the flights and new rewards program. I know, flights are for breweries and bars right? Not any more. Can't decide on what to drink? Then order a sample of four and enjoy them all. And you can still customize each one (i.e. hot or cold, milk choice). Since you'll be returning (I have no doubt of such), be sure to grab a loyalty card. Now once you've hit drink #10, the next one will be free! So yeah, visit soon. Take your time. And think of me as you sip the delicious drink(s) you end up ordering.

Coffee flight

So cute! My sister and I were driving through Harlem and decided to stop in for a quick coffee. I had heard about their coffee flights and wanted to check it out. SO happy we did. The flight was AhMazing! Yep I can spell, but it was that good. They have so many cute little local trinkets to buy we just couldn't stop Ourselves. Oh and the flight. Delicious?! And you have so many choices. If you are wanting to try a coffee flight and you are in the area this is your place. Service was excellent as well. The barista was friendly and super helpful. I s will definitely be back.

Iced latte and iced coffee

I love the interior here. It's easy to come for a coffee then sit and stay a while. The latte is priced well and I enjoy them every time. I love the sugar free options - more than a Starbucks and taste great. The service is always good and everyone I've encountered has been kind/helpful. I know they recently changed ownership but, it's still just as good as ever. Enjoy being able to stop by whenever I'm in Harlem.

This places is a quaint little spot in a quaint little town. But the food and drinks are bold and fantastic. The issue is very nice and they are very helpful. Helped me walk through the menu and make an excellent selection. They take pride in customer service and helping their customers. That's huge for me. So we chose to get to if their waffles. The Biscotti and Strawberries and cream. The Biscotti was awesome and rich. The strawberry had freshly cut strawberries which helped bring freshness to the dish. You choose which beverages you want in the flight and we didn't missed. They were all amazing. I'm glad they aren't around. The corner or I'd need a second job. A definite recommend.

I've been hearing good things about this place so I decided to come try it out personally. Once you walk in it's so warm and welcoming. The couches are a great touch. I came to try the coffee flight and I absolutely loved all my flavors. I love that they have flights so you can taste a little bit of everything. They don't have many food options but what they do have is delicious and it's just enough! If you work from home this is a great place to come to get out the house for a few hours and work. It's relaxing, cozy and has excellent customer service!

Harlem truly has something special brewing. This Java house reminds me of Central Perk as it has comfortable seating, inviting barista's and beautiful artwork. I've tried several different things from the menu and and it's only surges my desire to return many more times. My eyes are currently set on their coffee flights. I promise that Harlem Java is worth the drive every single time. They also have books and games for you to enjoy. I plan to be a fixture here when I'm in Harlem on my staycation.

Grabbed a delicious cold brew from Harlem Java House. First time here and won't be the last :)

Strawberries and cream croffle

I've stopped in twice now while traveling and I can't wait to come back. Everyone is super kind and welcoming. Their monthly menu is super exciting and always presents new flavors to try. I love how cute and cozy the shop is. There is a bunch of art and jewelry to buy as well. It's a really good place to work with good music and wifi!

Steeleys Grill And Tackle

Steeley's Grill in Dearing, Ga takes you back to simpler times. The food is good, the ambiance and…read moredecor reminds of places i used to eat at as a kid, and the service is just straight up Southern hospitality. My folks and i stopped by for lunch recently when i was home for a visit. They don't eat out much but recommended Steeley's; I'm glad they did! Their menu is short and simple. A variety of diner sandwiches and simple sides like fries or onion rings. There was more, but i ordered a dipped chicken sandwich and thought fries would be the best option. It was a solid choice as the sandwich was very good. Their hours indicate they're open for breakfast so next time i'm over this way, I'm going to have to check that out. I highly recommend this not so out of the way gem near downtown Dearing Ga

If I had to choose between eating at fine dining or hole-in-the-wall establishments for the rest of…read moremy life there would be no hesitation. When I saw "...and Tackle" as part of the name I knew this was going to be some good food. Plastic trays for food, plastic ware for utensils, and styrofoam cups for your drink. And let me take a moment to get proper honor due that sweet tea. It has been a hot Georgia minute since I've had sweet tea. 1) I strive to consume mostly water and 2) I don't want the disappointment of mildly sweet/bitter tea. But I had a feeling about this place. I have no shame in admitting that I drank three glasses during the meal and got a refill for the ride home. Now the inside seating is nice and cool, but much like the team working here the layout has a family feel. You might be at separate tables, but your conversations will be overlapping. The outside seating follows the wrap around porch, with the very back giving you a view of the pond. We opted for outside and I am so glad we did. Aside from the occasional vehicle passing by, one only heard birds chirping and frogs croaking. Pure bliss. The burger is a thing of beauty. The mac n cheese, just order it. I don't care if you got a salad. Order this and thank me later. And to top it off, the banana pudding. I will try the pie and/or cake another day, but I had to do the pudding. And there was no sharing at my table. I had it consumed before they returned with my card and receipt. I don't know how long this place has been around, but I sure hope it stays so I can continue to visit (and indulge). If you are anywhere near this place, go!
