Wanted to try out a new brunch spot. This was on my list so I drove down to albany park and parked on Montrose. Vibe is nice and quiet, not crazy loud like other brunch places. Waitress was nice and accommodating. I ordered the steak skillet and got pancakes with it. Also got the divorced chilaquiles(look up why they have that name). Both dishes were really good. The steak was tender and juicy and the pancakes(choc chip) were really good too. Pricier than my favorite spot(Ellys) but nothing crazy. I recommend. read more

The reviews for this place are very good. The staff and the cleanliness of the restaurant is wonderful. However, if you order coffee, be aware that it is Café con Canela which has cinnamon in it, and it cannot be removed. They don't make coffee without cinnamon flavor in it. The Avocado Clucker Sandwich was delicious, but the fries were bad (if you're gonna make hand-cut fries, they gotta be crispy not brown and soggy). My biggest problem was that the omelette was way overcooked and done improperly. They just chuck a bunch of vegetables together and mix it with eggs and overcook it almost like Egg Foo Young. Mine was kind of tough throughout and brown on the outside. An omelette should have the various selected vegetables inside a very lightly cooked and folded over style. Either folded like a taco or rolled like original French style. The Mistake: Cooking on too high of heat results in a rubbery texture, brown eggs. If someone showed the cooks how to make a real omelette, this place would stand out! read more

Great breakfast spot in the Albany Park neighborhood! It's right off montrose but around a corner of a side street, which was nice it's not right on the busy road. I *loved* that they have bar counter seating for if you ever go to breakfast solo! They have coffee (and were so generous with the refills), flavored creamer options, and plenty of sweet and savory breakfast items. It was also very affordable! The two women working were so sweet, very quick to take my order/deliver food, and frequently checked in for coffee refills or anything else needed. They were lovely, and it was a wonderful, relaxing, yummy breakfast! I look forward to returning. read more

I'm getting over the flu and it was my first day out of the house. Having been on a soup diet over the last week, I wanted something solid for a change. I wanted something soft, easy to chew, and sweet. Not being from around here, we had to idea where to go. Every place we tried to dine at was a fail because we couldn't find parking and ended up in narrow streets, traffic, and got hangrier by the minute. I consulted Yelp and found Harding Cafe, which had fantastic photos of their food. Gave it a try and found it refreshingly simple but amazing. We were greeted the moment we entered the restaurant, seated, and served by staff who were genuinely there to serve us -- not because it's their job and scheduled to be on the Saturday shift. It's the little things that really impressed me. Going back to my restaurant days, our manager taught us that the customers should not be able to hear the kitchen staff or the workers or noise -- just be able to enjoy the ambience of the restaurant, some light music, and conversation amongst diners. That's what I witnessed and heard. It was extraordinary! The menu was a simple one-pager for breakfast and lunch on the flip side. There were many choices on the menu, but I much enjoyed looking through the photos much more to decide what I was going to order. The server had to come back three times before I could make up my mind. I settled on chocolate chip pancakes and my husband on the turkey club. Both were excellent! I had not even realized that I never added syrup to my pancakes. They were so light, fluffy, and delicious! My husband swears that was the best turkey club sandwich he has ever had, and he was even surprised with the presentation of the fries. The chef clearly put some time with the preparation of our food without just throwing it together on the plate. This was exactly what we needed today. Simple. Elegant. Casual fine dining. Their breakfast sandwich is mighty, and unlike any other. It's the lovechild of french toast and a breakfast sandwich. Although the sourdough bread is toasted, it is softened from having soaked up eggy goodness, and by no means too sweet for its luscious filling of swiss cheese, scrambled egg and arugula. Genius! I've been to this place twice now and both times the food and service were spot on. The first time I ordered the California turkey Panini and it came out quickly with a side salad. I had it with a cold brew coffee, which was also very good. Second time I came, I had a veggie omelette, which contained broccoli, zucchini, spinach, and feta. The combinations were evenly portioned & it tasted great! I honestly love supporting smaller businesses in different neighborhoods like this. I think as a whole many people get fascinated by the hottest, newest thing when there are so many smaller companies that you can discover when you're in different neighborhoods. I stumbled upon this place first when I was in the area for a meeting and then came back a second time when I had another meeting in the area. Highly recommend this business for breakfast or lunch and I also recommend sitting at the bar for the fastest service. This is a BYOB place so if you are looking to drink alcohol, I recommend bringing some with you. I didn't check the corkage fee, but that may exist. read more

There is free parking in front of the restaurant but it is limited. Only down side is if your appetite is small, there is not much options for smaller dishes. Service was very good. We went there on a weekday just before Xmas, around 11-noon. Thankfully it wasn't busy. Anyway we liked the ambiance, clean, simple & lovely holiday lights. Food was good. I very very much appreciate they offered turkey bacon, sooo many restaurants do not. I stopped eating pork and know there are many who also don't eat pork-many for religious, health , & other reasons. Would LOVE to see them offer non-meat sausage(Beyond meat or similar). Anyway, my partner & I really liked our experience and food which is on the Mexican side. She had Huevos Rancheros & I, Belgin waffle w/ turkey bacon. Best brunch place. It's hidden on the corner of Harding and Montrose. If you find it you are entering a gem. My favorite place to go for breakfast. I get the oatmeal banana pancakes and you don't need any syrup to go with it. My partner gets the huevos rancheros or the chilaquiles. Whatever you get it will be out of this world. What a little gem of a place.... the burgers are 1/2 lb of great beef. Even though it's not on the menu to ordered a mushroom/Swiss burger. The fries are great but I get the side salad that is sooo good. The secret is in the dried cherries they add and the light dressing they toss the salad in. I love the breakfasts... the chilquiles are to die for .. I get it with the green sauce... soo yummy. Everyone here was raving about their food.
