Just when i thought i knew what i wanted, i turned the page and found something else i wanted. I ended up ordering way more than we needed.... maybe i have a problem. In all fairness, the first half of the menu is Italian food, and then it switches over to Mexican. So, i can't really be blamed. We started off with cheese dip, which comes with chips and salsa. We also ordered zeppoles as an appetizer. Then, my husband and I split a spicy chicken salad. Sorry we ate all of that before I thought to take a picture. Next, we dove into the large pizza pie, which was really good. It's a nice thin crust just how i like it. We also ordered a small personal sized white pizza to try out. It was good, but not as good as the regular pizza. It was all so good. Needless to say, we had a bunch leftover to feed the monsters at home.

"Oh you have a table Of 5, here is a small thing of chips and one small thing of salsa... now let me disappear for 15 minutes." You always see the employees sitting behind the counter on their phones while you need drink refills. Every time we go there I end up having to get up more than once and walk to the counter and ask for something we need. We used to just accept the terrible service since the food is good and the prices are reasonable, but after yesterday I don't believe we will be going back.

My folks and i stopped by for lunch recently when i was home for a visit. They don't eat out much but recommended Steeley's; I'm glad they did! Their menu is short and simple. A variety of diner sandwiches and simple sides like fries or onion rings. There was more, but i ordered a dipped chicken sandwich and thought fries would be the best option. It was a solid choice as the sandwich was very good. Their hours indicate they're open for breakfast so next time i'm over this way, I'm going to have to check that out. I highly recommend this not so out of the way gem near downtown Dearing Ga

When I saw "...and Tackle" as part of the name I knew this was going to be some good food. Plastic trays for food, plastic ware for utensils, and styrofoam cups for your drink. And let me take a moment to get proper honor due that sweet tea. It has been a hot Georgia minute since I've had sweet tea. 1) I strive to consume mostly water and 2) I don't want the disappointment of mildly sweet/bitter tea. But I had a feeling about this place. I have no shame in admitting that I drank three glasses during the meal and got a refill for the ride home. Now the inside seating is nice and cool, but much like the team working here the layout has a family feel. You might be at separate tables, but your conversations will be overlapping. The outside seating follows the wrap around porch, with the very back giving you a view of the pond. We opted for outside and I am so glad we did. Aside from the occasional vehicle passing by, one only heard birds chirping and frogs croaking. Pure bliss. The burger is a thing of beauty. The mac n cheese, just order it. I don't care if you got a salad. Order this and thank me later. And to top it off, the banana pudding. I will try the pie and/or cake another day, but I had to do the pudding. And there was no sharing at my table. I had it consumed before they returned with my card and receipt. I don't know how long this place has been around, but I sure hope it stays so I can continue to visit (and indulge). If you are anywhere near this place, go!

The restaurant is unique on the inside and gives a somewhat hole-in-the-wall bar vibe (but cleaner). During the day time, I would say it is family friendly, but at night it can definitely get rowdier so go at your own risk, it is called Whiskey Bar after all. The burgers are very good and are cooked very well with lots of options for customization. I always go for the classic WB(K) burger with Swiss cheese and pickles. The waffle fries are always so crisp and yummy. The same goes for the potstickers as an appetizer. Even their other burger combos that seem strange are actually pretty good if you are into that type of burger. The service is always pretty good. Friendly staff that was quick. Not a long wait on a Tuesday night, but have definitely waited before on a Friday or Saturday. They have a first come, first serve bar as well. The tables can be somewhat cramped depending on where you are sat and it is definitely not an accessible place as the entrance is crammed and all the tables are high tops on the inside, the outside is better with low top tables and benches. The Diet Coke was okay. A little syrupy so their ratio on the fountain soda machine must be a little off. Still good, but I have had better. Overall, one of the best burger restaurants in Augusta and most stop place in the area!

I'm sorry to write that I had a very disappointing experience at Farmhaus Burger today…read more The plan was to visit Farmhaus Burger with a friend for burgers and a few beers on a non-descript Tuesday afternoon. Before visiting I checked the website to see when Happy Hour was and it was clearly advertised as being from 3-6PM (the pic should be attach as part of my review). Because you know, as a customer you want to know what the policies are and plan accordingly. So we plan to land there around the 3:30ish time frame. So, sure enough we end up there right around 3:30PM. We get in line and get our burgers ordered, I ask about Happy Hour and I'm told that it starts at 4PM. OK, that's odd, b/c the website clearly said differently. But no big deal. Because I'll get seated, pull up the website, show them what is clearly being advertised and they will honor it, right? Wrong. Allow me to elaborate. I get seated at the bar and I talk to the bartender (the other guy who told me about Happy Hour was working the cashier so maybe he wasn't in the loop). I bring up the website and show him that Happy Hour is clearly advertised as being from 3-6PM (on the front page no less). I am told that this is an "old picture" but offers to talk to a manager. He comes back and tells me they are "in the process of changing". I'm not really sure what that means, but OK. So, I make a suggestion. The current time was 3:39PM and I asked if he could serve me a beer, and then ring it in at 4:00PM. That way, they get to honor what was advertised and drew me into restaurant, I get my beer, and they have time to change whatever needs changing. It's a win-win situation. This was also a no go. At this point I'm legitimately baffled at their poor customer service. I don't make a scene. I don't ask to speak to the manager. We simply eat our food and go. Heck, I was treated better at Target when I was returning a printer earlier in the day. Long story short, I will not be returning and they will not be getting any more of my money. I'm not sure what else is incorrect on their website. But good luck if you decide to visit.

Best kept secret down this stretch of the South might just be Peggy's fried chicken…read more Now, a great many places have the confidence to fry a bird. That is not the same as knowing what they're doing. Plenty can make chicken hot. Fewer can make it memorable. Peggy's managed the rarer thing. This was the kind of fried chicken that makes a man quiet for a minute and reconsider whether he has properly valued his past blessings. They had other meats on the menu, and I do not doubt they were prepared by decent people with honest intentions, but ordering anything besides the fried chicken would have felt like showing up at a revival and asking for directions to a yoga class. And the sides, Lord help me, the sides were no afterthought. If I had not attended the funerals myself, I might have suspected my great grandma, grandma, and momma were back there in the kitchen, keeping an eye on the pots. Forgive me, Mammaw G, Mammaw, and Mom, but Peggy's had the better day with that chicken. I say that with love, respect, and a willingness to dodge a lightning bolt if one has been set aside for me. Fried okra, green beans, sweet potatoes, and mac and cheese, which any Southerner with good sense knows is a vegetable when it needs to be, spread across our plates like a family reunion of the righteous. The only medical advisory I'd offer is this: if your doctor has warned you against coating your insides with salt, you may want to admire from a respectful distance. And the sweet tea was right. Not tea-flavored water with ambition. Sweet tea. Properly made. The sort that lets you know nobody in the building is interested in modern nonsense. Next time I'm rolling down I-20, I may well make the turn toward Wrens again just to see whether Peggy's can do it twice. But judging by the regulars, the handshakes, the easy way the staff knew folks by name, and the fact they made us feel halfway local ourselves, I'd say this was no one-off. This felt less like a lucky meal and more like the kind of place that still believes doing something well is reason enough to keep doing it.

My grandson and I were hungry so we scurried over to get a place to go because they close at 8:30. We were kindly greeted and informed that the cooks have left the building but they had buffet style. The server came out and prepared our to go plates with care. We ordered sweet ice teas, had great conversation and I'm out merry way. I had Chuck beef over rice, candied yams, lima beens and a biscuit. OMG the food was as it should be, comfort food. Every bite was delicious and that biscuit melted in my mouth. The ice tea was perfectly crafted. My grandson had fried chicken in Mac n Cheese. He didn't expound in its taste but he gobbled it up with no complaints. I would say that he enjoyed it. I know the locals enjoy this restaurant because it seems like Peggy's is a staple in the community. It's too bad that I won't be back here but I am glad that I supported this restaurant rather than going to a fast food that's close by. Thank you to the staff for making us feel welcomed and by serving us with care. I choose chuck beef over rice, yams, lima beens, and a biscuit. I felt nostalgic eating this food reminiscing from days of past, living in the south and eating soul food
