The boyfriend and I were in Mojave last night working on a project at the makerspace when we decided to travel down to the AV for some sushi (very productive night). Our regular place was not open past eight (this was a Sunday), and Harbor was the only place that was well reviewed and opened, so on we went. It's a 40 minute drive down, and we made it into the restaurant at 8:20. The bar was packed- with a bunch of people chatting and not eating. The waiter explained (very politely) that the stop seating people for the all-you-can-eat sushi bar at 8:30. He said the wait was longer, but he would ask his manager if there was anything they could do. The manager let us sit at a table and order from the bar menu- something they do not do. We ordered all of our rolls at once. We got the sushi first, and then the rolls. The waitress came around during last call and pressured us into ordering a few more rolls, she explained that she felt bad that we didn't get to sit at the bar. We left completely stuffed. The sushi- we ordered 6pc each of salmon, tuna, red snapper, yellowtail, and spicy albacore. In addition to the sushi there was sashimi- about 4 huge chunks of each. I don't know if they normally do this- but it was great. The fish itself is the best I've tasted in the AV. The rolls- we ordered almost randomly, it was different not being able to ask the chef what he recommends. For the most part the rolls were great! The Leo was the best. Some of the rolls seemed bland- too much dressing overpowered the fish or the spicy tuna didn't have quite the kick- but overall it was an amazing meal. We will definitely be back! It will be hard to decide between Harbor and Big Tuna, but I think we are going to end up favoring Harbor. read more

I've eaten here a handful of times now because it's the only sushi spot in the AV before Goldfish that I've actually been satisfied with. I don't even really order much from here, but everything I've tried, I have no complaints about. I like the set up here too, and the dimmed lighting makes it seem that much more intimate. The food at Harbour is really good but they lose two stars because of the very loud disco music and the inability to turn the volume down.

Been coming here for a while now. I'm not sure if its just me but the sushi isn't the same it used to be. I'm pretty sure the quality has down drastically, especially with the salmon (which was my favorite). read more

Ordered from here for the first time (take out) and only because our usual, Gold Fish, was closed. This turned out to be a real blessing in disguise. They took care of our order right away and the food was ready in 15 minutes. I happened to be really hungry so when I opened the containers to find enormous sushi rolls, my eyes just lit up. I always have reservations about sushi spots that serve large rolls and large sashimi portions because the size tends to be a compensation for lesser quality. However, the Alaska roll was delicious and the sashimi was fresh! read more

The price for AYCE sushi was good. The sushi quality was amazing. I really love the salmon. They out so much salmon and rice to really make your stomach full. The staff there are really nice and attentive. The sushi chefs there are really nice as well. If you have a big party it's best to have everyone there because they won't seat you until everyone is there. read more

While my husband seemed to enjoy his sushi, as a non sushi eater this the bottom of the barrel. I was ignored and had to track down somone to order my meal. I ordered the chicken teriyaki plate which came with watered down miso soup and a salad that was lacking. After a 20 minute wait for my plate I was met with chicken that was rubbery and bland. Definitley will not return. Sushi zen is far more considerate of non sushi eaters. read more

I was very excited to try this place. I ordered food. Waited, waited, waited and waited some more. About 10 other people ordered after us And they were getting their food. People walked in to place an order to go and they got their food before us! I waited a good 45 min and still no food. Mind you we went in at 1130am! There was no lunch rush yet! We were hungry and tired of waiting. They seriously have their priorities screwed up. Never coming here again. And definitely not recommending it to anyone I know. read more

Some of my sushi aficionado friends may not agree with me, but I love this place! It's definitely more of an American style sushi joint with larger rolls and not so traditional ingredients. There are a lot of sushi places in the AV that match this description, but Harbour is the best. The Leo roll and the Alaskan roll are personal favorites. Wow! I am thoroughly impressed with this sushi restaurant and how tasty their food is. We came here on a busy Mother's Day weekend and the restaurant was packed. From the looks of the crowds I knew the food was probably going to be good. They definitely did not disappoint. I ordered the 3 item combo that included salad, rice, and miso soup. My 3 items I picked were the assorted tempura, yakiniku, and sashimi which consisted of tuna, salmon, and white albacore. Boy was it a lot food! Everything was super delicious and the pieces of sashimi were huge. I had to cut each of them in half just to eat it. By the end of the meal I wasn't able to finish all my food and eventually took the leftovers home. They also offered specialty drinks such as matcha green tea, Arnold Palmer, and Shirley Temple. I didn't get a chance to order any dessert since I was pretty much stuffed but by the looks of what I saw on the menu the desserts all look pretty good. Next time I come here I want to try their AYCE sushi which is only offered at the bar and their happy hour special too. Will for sure for be back! read more

This might have been the worst beginning to a restaurant experience ever. I walked in on Friday 7/11 @7 pmand told the hostess we had a party of 9. She responded that they were maxed out on big parties since they had a party of 10 and a party of 15. I said well how long is the wait. Her response was they would not take another large party tonight. However another large party walked in right after me and we're told a wait time. Not only is this rude but how do you tell me you won't take anymore but will help someone right after me? read more

Absolutely my favorite Sushi Spot in the AV. The Leo & Andrew roll are amazing. My other favorite thing to order here is Cajun Tuna, delicious. I have never had a bad experience with their food, or their chefs. The chefs are always friendly and seem to take pride in their dishes. read more

I don't like sushi at all. And I'm guessing the sushi here is really good because everyone I went with loved it. But the service here isn't that great. This was the first time I've encountered wasabi and since there was such a large amount of it I thought it was like a topping. So I put some on my California Roll and my mouth hurt. I was tearing because of how hot it was and the waiter somehow did not notice a customer about to have a heart attack. I waited ten minutes just for a refill. And the California roll was not good. The food was good, but not the service. We sat at the sushi bar because usually the chefs will talk to you and just make it a fun experience. That was not our experience here. The chefs never looked at us and when we asked them what kind of sushi a dish they just put out (because it looked amazing), only one chef (out of 3) looked my way and mumbled the answer. When I asked him what he said, he seemed annoyed and told me what it was. The servers were ok, but barely came around. I have been trying to find a good sushi place out here in the Av since I don't want to drive to Santa Clarita every time I want sushi. So this was our first time eating here. Waited about 50 minutes or so to eat here. When we got seated, our waiter came by fairly quick and took our beverage orders. While ordering for food, I asked our waiter if they had Cajun tuna and specifically asked him if it came with onions on top to which he said yes. I also did not like that the menu did not have larger pictures. I like to see the pictures and read what comes in the rolls. There was one page with pictures of the rolls but they were small and useless. Upon receiving our food from a different person I noticed immediately that the tuna did not come with onions. So I waited and waited for our waiter and after a long time I finally ate one of the pieces. When I saw him a good while later I called him over to let him know about the Cajun tuna not having onions. He said "I'm sorry I thought it would have onions." To me that was not enough. He could have offered to take the food back and not charge me for it. There was also like a $2 upcharge for the Cajun which he did not tell me about. I would have told him to take it back but since I had ate one of the two pieces, I did not. Also throughout our dinner he did not check on us. Every time we needed something I had to call him over. The guy was was nice so it wasn't all bad. Overall, I thought the food was ok but coupled with the service and the fact that the AYCE is only at the bar, I would not come here again. I am a big tuna person... Untill i found this place! Oh man, the food is great, all you can eat menu is large the service could be better but they make the rolls good so they do not fall apart and they even put the garnishes on them, unlike big tuna you have to ask them top make them with the garnishes and correctly... I will be back here and will reccommendf this place over big tuna anytime. read more

Came in for lunch on a Saturday around 11:30. There was only 1 waiter present, who sat my family of 4 right away. There were about 10 men working behind the sushi counter and in the kitchen. There were 3 other tables of people, no more than 2 - 5 people at each table. We were given menus but then ignored for 15 minutes, no water, no drink order, nothing. Love their sushi!!!!! We go often and it's the only place we go for sushi in the AV. Only complaint is you wait forever to get the check and at least 3 people will walk by and see you are clearly waiting. I'm in a hurry a majority of the time. I like to get in and then out. Which is typically what any server would want to keep tables turning i.e. More tables more tips. When I was a server you dropped the check off after a couple bites so the customer is never waiting on the server to leave. Tip amount decreases if so. read more

Original employees are gone. Food quality has majorly gone down. We went today and the new employees charged us for an item after they messed it up and told me it would be on the house. I repeated that they said it would be on the house and she argued that even though she said that, she didn't "mean it".
