Really enjoyed our lunch! The fried calamari was on point, and the Catalan Seafood Stew was excellent - one of the most flavorful dishes we had on our trip to Alaska. My father in law enjoyed the chicken sandwich and both my kids said the hamburger and fries were delicious. Service was excellent and the patio offered a nice view of the Harbor. Prices are a little high but I know food cost is a lot higher being in Homer too, so it didn't bother me too much. Would definitely return. read more

Not worth your money whatsoever. Tuna Poke had about 10 pieces of fish for $18. Fish tacos had more batter than fish. And then you get convenience fee which, when you ask for clarification, is a credit card fee. All this together makes it not worth it. read more

I am giving 2 stars because the waite staff was good. The kitchen and management need to get their act together. We were a party of 8. Sat at a table in the bar. Alex our bartender was also our server. He was great. The issue we had with the kitchen. Our appetizers came out with our entrees and salads. Half the food was cold and I sent my entree back. The crab pot pie was bland, and the steamed clams were cold and had no flavor. The chowder came out 15 minutes before other entrees, so the two guests who got the chowder waited for everyone to be served, and had cold chowder. Not a very good experience. Monday night, party of four waited in line for over an hour to get in. The couple in front of us were-let in and then we were turned away because they were no longer serving that night. WTF? So we got reservations for the next night (Tuesday). We show up at 530 to be just a bit early and the place is locked up tight and not a single person around!!! Not a sign in the door, no courtesy call to let us know that the place was not going to be open. Would not recommend to anyone. The service was very slow. Our server took so long to take our order that I needed to ask her to do so. She seemed annoyed at that. Then the food took so very long to come out. The server told us since we came in near closing it takes longer as they are trying to catch up, or something like that. It made no sense. Then she blamed it on a party of 8's order before ours. As for the food, the lemon butter caper sauce was too thick and spooned on each piece of fish. It was also bland. The fish was over cooked. They also charge a credit card fee if that is the way your are paying. It isn't a flat fee but a percentage. There was no notice on the menus about this fee. The calamari was a waste. Any squid that we did happen to find underneath all the breading was dried out. I personally think that it comes in a frozen bag and all they do is re heat it. Yuck! The king crab shell was rubbery and extremely hard to crack into using the "cracking utensils" even including the scissors. Which tells me it was over cooked. The size was laughable. For $69 bucks you'd expect to get a good size leg. Nope. The kids shrimp and chips was all breading as well. It was a disappointment that in Homer, Alaska where they are more than capable of receiving fresh seafood to cook, this restaurant serves the worst sorry plates of seafood I've ever had. But then again, they couldn't even cook the chicken right with my chicken fettuccine that I ordered. (Burnt and dry) So, it's not only their seafood. All of the food was a giant rip off for the high prices on their menu. The service however, was alright. Well, okay. It actually wasn't too bad. The service was wonderful they get a 5/5 for that definitely. The food on the other hand was good but nothing special for what your paying. I first started with a bloody Mary and dark beer the bloody Mary garnishes were beautiful but the drink itself I didn't like it was missing something. I then had a cup of seafood chowder that was delicious and great flavor. For main meal I ordered seafood alfredo the scallops and prawns were fabulous but the salmon and halibut were very dry and overcooked. The food was overall average and not worth the price. I'm sure there are other choices on menu that are better. Neat decor great service but not worth cost. read more

Just give your money and support to another small business on the spit. Do not eat here. It took over an hour for our food to come out. We finally got tired of waiting and asked for them to just box it up. Meanwhile we watched tables who'd been seated after us receive their meal, eat and leave while we were left waiting. When we finally did get our food the serving sizes were paltry and not as described on the menu (missing key items or with things included that were not mentioned). The only reason that I am giving two stars is because the waitstaff truly felt bad and did their best to make up for our frustration. They offered to bring out some chowder on the house while we waited and sent us home with two free desserts. They did their best under the disappointing conditions happening in the kitchen. We showed for our reservations and the place was closed, finally called because we could see staff in the restaurant, first we were told that it was impossible for us to have a reservation as they weren't open. Local review : my husband and I decided to try the harbor grill the other night for dinner .The harbor grill has new cooks every summer , we have lived here 13 years and it's really only been good once . My steak had good flavor but was over cooked . My husband got the seafood pasta , it was very obvious the seafood had been frozen and was very over cooked . The waitress gave a a round of drinks .
