Glad this was a spot still open after the season. From I was told they recently updated their menu and made a couple updates. The interior is spacious, with good seating options. The bar was super cool. Staff was super friendly and kind. The fish and chips the batter was a little too thick, lacked a little flavor but the tartar sauces was good. We ordered some oysters they were okay too. Overall a good spot to get some drinks.

A restaurant with a great view (except for that camper) that is open year-round. What a delight! Welcoming and informative service by Taylor! Kudos to staff that brings water and menus quickly and can answer questions. I was not going to indulge in alcohol but opted back in with their smoked dirty martini. Taylor informed me that the vodka was smoked in-house and wanted to make sure I liked a smoky taste. Glad she did as I've experienced over smoked alcohol but this wasn't! I appreciated the glass filled to the brim in a smart martini glass. It was delicious and went down smoothly. Also noted that they offered non alcoholic mixed drinks at reasonable prices. Kudos! Onto the food. Sable fish was very good. The couscous underneath really made the dish with arugula and sweet potato cubes. Also came with candied walnuts but not overly sweet. Yummy. The pineapple fried rice was also very good and not greasy. Very Thai like. The grilled duck was on the side which is better than being mixed in. Tender and moist. Also easier to share. Overall excellent presentation and delicious. Homer is a pretty basic place with awesome views but apparently also has some A1 chow! Kudos! Made my day!

Incredible flavors here - staff was amazing and it's a popping place! Got the halibut fish & chips and the lamb shank, all I can say is WOW. Tender meat and well seasoned veggies on the shank, and the fish was, I kid you not, the best I've ever had. Perfect balance of salty, dill, and a fried crunch - but the fish was still the star. Very white and airy - it was a perfect bite with the breaking, fish, and that white tartar sauce.

The Kannery is hands-down the best place to eat in Homer. The food is always excellent, the menu has something for everyone, and we love that they're open in the winter. The staff is truly amazing--friendly, welcoming, and attentive every time. And don't leave without trying the oysters... they are SO good!

You never know how places will be when you walk in 30 mins before closing but the hostess was very welcoming and reassured we could still order dinner. The cocktails were fantastic but the food (burger and salmon tacos) were just OK. Quality definitely did not match price. Our server seemed a bit out of it but checked on us enough. We also shared a chocolate espresso brownie which tasted burnt. I don't think I'd come back here for a sit down meal but would be open to trying their other drinks.

I was so surprised at the beautiful Kannery. We arrived pretty early in the evening and we were able to get a seat quickly, even though reservations were full online. We sat down and were quickly offered a menu and water. We ordered fish and chips, oysters, a salad and the king crab fondue. The food arrived pretty quickly, the king crab fondue arrived first and it was delicious and creamy. The best part was that they offered fresh carrots, celery, and peppers along with some toast points. The fondue flavor overwhelmed the crab, but it was still a nice dinner. My friend ordered the fish and chips, and it was a generous portion of fried fish. The batter was light, and it was very hot when it arrived. It also included some homemade potato chips that were crunchy and delicious. I neglected to take a picture of the oysters, but they did look lovely. The salad was very small for the price. After dinner. we decided to have dessert. We ordered crème brûlée and cheesecake. The crème brûlée was a blueberry crème brûlée and it was nice, not amazing . The cheesecake was clearly prepared elsewhere. I would like to return to this restaurant and try more of their food. I was pleasantly surprised and the view was amazing.

This was one of only a few places we went to twice in our three days here. Staff was friendly places, very clean and well kept has a great view . The food is fantastic. Very very good. The shrimp dumplings were delicious. The bow was fantastic like eating a cloud we liked everything. We only wish the price point was a little bit less but that's typical for Alaska and considering how many people they have on staff and how well it was I can see why the price is a little bit more more.

Friendly staff, delicious food with lots of seafood choices, and live music on weekends (Johnny B on piano). One of my favorite dining experiences in Alaska for both food and ambience! Great views too!

    Farm salad

Total mixed bag. Some outstanding dishes, but rude service, one bad dish, and a shocking tip expectation. The food was fresh with 2 (out of 3) outstanding dishes. The mushroom pasta was genuinely outstanding -- the peapods and roasted tomatoes were such unique and flavorful additions. The farmers salad was similarly good and also had some unique touches. When we went, there was a live piano player setting a nice ambiance too. However, two staff members were downright rude. For example, had a snarky comment when we used a coupon given to us by our hotel. Another rebuked us when we were about to sit at an open bar table (as directed by the hostess) because they were saving that one. Beyond that, the veggie burger was disappointing -- the dry patty fell apart as soon as you ate it and the chips were an odd side. Finally, the restaurant sets the tip range at 20-30%, in addition to adding 3% automatically for the kitchen. In short, they pressure you to tip 23%-33%. With this type of expected tip, you'd except consistently strong service and food, which is not what we experienced. This left a really bad final impression.

Jeff and krew know their way around the craft cocktails! They start with homemade syrups and cordials and end with a beautifully balanced and interesting drink. I wish I was going to be there next week for the new milk punch clarified cocktail. This is a must visit in Homer!

Amazing experience! Unfortunately, I hadn't been feeling great that day so I only had a cup of hot tea. However, my husband had the sockeye plank and said it was the best salmon he ever had. It was plated beautifully and the mashed potatoes were equally delicious. Server was also attentive and friendly. 10/10 would recommend!

This place was so packed tonight, because it's the height of the tourist season (we couldn't get parked for a good 10 minutes) and so the place was HEAVING and packed to the rafters. Even so, we were seated immediately, and the fancy water carafe brought to us. Obviously I think most of the people in here are tourists. Most don't look Alaskan, if you know what I mean. I order the sublime Parm Fry Stack, that I've been dreaming about for 7 months, and he got, oh who cares what he got, I don't remember. He should write his own reviews. Despite the jam-packed dining room, it was not overly noisy, and you could hear your conversation. I had an unfortunate experience at a cafe recently, where I encountered one of those people who love the sound of their own voice, instead of chowing down on some good food. Fortunately there were none of those type in here, and so I got to appreciate my Parm Fry Stack in peace. Our server seemed surprised that I only wanted the Parm Fry Stack, and not a proper entree, and we wouldn't be sharing them between us, along with our main meal. No! Potatoes can be a main too. Well. You know the last time I had them, I was impressed. It was a sizable portion. This time, it was an absolutely enormous portion. A DAUNTING portion. Even I was dubious that I could manage it. But they were as epically delicious as the first time with no difference in flavour at all, which I am supremely grateful for. I don't give out awards such as Number 1 fry in Alaska lightly, but this humongous beast has earned its place, and retained it with consistent quality. Absolutely beautiful!

Sooooo....It's okay. Chips and salsa are NOT complimentary. A basket of chips and two bowls of salsa wasn't terribly expensive at 4.50. But hot salsa wasn't available when we went. So they gave us two milds. The salsa tasted a little weird. I couldn't tell if an ingredient was missing or if there was some other funky aspect. Either way, I didn't eat many chips (which made the paying for it seem a little more frustrating). The queso appetizer was delicious. Great serving size and great flavor. Everyone at the table agreed and there wasn't any left at the end. Beer selection included a couple local craft beers and plenty of bottles. I was very happy with the Pacifico and lime I received. Service was friendly. So we're the couple on a date at the table next to us. They recommended food and drinks and told us all about places to visit in town. Apparently there are meaderys (meaderies?)open on town. Cool news! Overall, I was largely underwhelmed by the food and slightly chagrined by the chips and salsa cost.

While waiting, the boys rolled down the grass hill and we chatted with a newly arrived plastic surgeon from Dallas - you definitely meet an eclectic crowd in Homer. Though the wait was a tad long - maybe percieved as much due to my hunger - it was worth the wait. The food was delicious, satisfying, and comforting. The yellow curry had just enough spice, the pork was savory with a hint of sweet and sour as well as being juicy. To use street words - it was grub.
