Locals said this was the best fresh seafood in town and it didn't disappoint! Fresh gourmet and local food, great service, local art and beautiful location. There are only a few tables so text for reservations in advance.

I couldn't wait and dug into my halibut before the picture, but it was played beautifully.

The food was amazing. We started with a cheese appetizers which was delicious. Our party of 4 had 2 orders of halibut, one of scallops, and one Bi Bim Bap. Everyone enjoyed their food and my halibut was as fresh and awesome as you would expect from a fishing town. I also got a taste of the scallops and those were the best I'd ever had. Our server was great and the support staff was attentive as well. We called ahead to ask for a table by the windows and although they couldn't guarantee a window table, we did get one. The view was as wonderful as the food.

The Prawn Toast. I salivate while eating this. Weird right, yet true.

Wow. What a culinary experience. It is always obvious when the Chef is merely throwing foods out verses delivering beautiful delicious food. The new owners are killing it. Bravo.

The best meal I've had in quite some time! Wonderful ambiance, phenomenal service and top notch seafood beautifully plated with creative local flair. The seafood chowder was outstanding, oysters were plump, sweet and paired beautifully with the mignonette sauce, and the scallop crudo was delightful! Rose and flan to bookend the meal. Perfection! And thanks to my server Zoe for helping me navigate the menu. Great experience! I'll be back!

Incredibly packed most of the time, so make sure you get a reservation if you have a group. Had to wait until enar closing to get a seat for 1, but well worth the wait! Seafood was extremely fresh and delicious. Easily the best halibut while I was in Alaska.

Fresh seafood. Tannery crab legs very sweet. Grilled rockfish was our favorite dish. Friendly service. Art in the bathroom. Crowded and noisy. Make reservations.

I drove to Homer and a friend of mine told me that this place it is a MUST! I was going to go to another location but I gave them a chance based on my friend's recommendation. When I first walked in I was told that they are completely full for a table in the dining area but the bar was open. As I sat at the bar for almost 2 hours, I saw plenty of tables open and when I left they were still empty. Maybe they were afraid that people would not get up on time for the people that had a reservation. Not sure but what I know it is that I had to sit at the bar. I felt ignored for about 5 to 8 minutes until the waitress came over. I ordered the Fish and Chips (fries not chips) and it was properly season, the taste was great and the fish was not dried. It was very tasteful UNTIL I noticed a side that I did not ordered and that was a piece of HAIR. I took a picture for Yelp as soon as I got my food so I zoomed in and the HAIR was there. I knew it was not my HAIR. The hostess (I think she is the manager or owner and I think her name is Jackie) she came over and asked me if everything was okay and I told her NO! I showed her the HAIR and the picture zoomed in so she can see that it came like that from the kitchen. She quickly removed the plate and I asked if it could be replaced and they did. The second plate had a couple of bigger fish and no HAIR. At the end I ordered a carrot cake and I received a DIRTY spoon (see picture) so I asked the hostess if I could get a new spoon. A few minutes later the waitress gave me a CLEAN spoon. She apologized for it but what are the odds that I will get a HAIR and a DIRTY utensil during my first visit! (I should play the lottery) The restaurant is beautiful and they have a very nice open space and ambiance. I like the small owner feel as I love to help the local businesses; however, I don't like a HAIR in my food or a DIRTY utensil . What I found very disrespectful, was the fact that I was charged for my meal. I don't want a free meal but this is their mistake and they did not do anything to make things right. Just keep that in mind. Would I come back? Not sure, to be honest. I wish the restaurant the best and I hope that they have a better and/or improve their quality control so no one else experience what I experienced.

This restaurant is amazing! We're 4 weeks into a 6 week driving trip. This has been some of the best food we've in Alaska and Canadian Rockies. The service was wonderful and the ambiance was spectacular (view of Kachemak Bay). I don't eat seafood. The confit chicken was delicious. My husband ate the surf and turf special. He liked it a lot.

This place was the best place we had during our trip in Alaska! We had an amazing, not overpriced crab for an appetizer and a very overpriced for half a dozen small oysters. For main meals we had amazing fish and chips, a kale salad with amazing dressing and flavor, a cup of clam chowder which was the best clam chowder over many, and the buffalo cauliflower! Everyone in our party was very delighted over our last meal in Alaska! This is what we had expected Alaskan food to be like. The service was very friendly and our waitress was very friendly and helpful! The ambiance in the restaurant was very cozy at the bar area. We don't know what it feels like over in the dining area, but it looked very nice too!

After driving around Homer, we finally found a reservation for Fresh Catch Cafe for 9PM. For anyone visiting Homer, remember to make a reservation to any restaurant in the city since it seems to fill up fast and restaurants tend to run out of food/materials before their closing time. Moving onto Fresh Catch Cafe, the location was great and the view out to the water was wonderful. The food was not bad but also not mind blowing. I ordered the fettuccine pasta, clams and the halibut fish and chips (not pictured). Although pricey the pasta had great flavor and a lot of seafood so I would recommend for an entree. The clams however did not taste fresh and had way too much pebble/rocks inside. The fish and chips were very large and the fish was super fresh. If you want to taste some of that famous Alaskan halibut I would recommend. Overall this place wasn't my first choice of go to restaurant but it still was a beautiful quaint restaurant with some decent seafood options.

I liked the feel of this place. It was good for a family, but also looked nice for a date. I saw several couples enjoying the view of the bay and romantic atmosphere. The service was attentive and friendly. The food was wonderful. The clams were delicious. The rich broth was easy to sop up with the bread. The crab dip was gluten free and served with bread and crudités. The seafood risotto was cooked perfect, the halibut was seared well and complemented the rich creamy flavor from the risotto. The "udon" had a great flavor, albeit the noodles were closer to lugini. The bison burger was note worth. The thick smokey bacon and nice sear on the burger took a "burger" to whole 'nother' level.

    Fresh flowers at every table!

This place was so packed tonight, because it's the height of the tourist season (we couldn't get parked for a good 10 minutes) and so the place was HEAVING and packed to the rafters. Even so, we were seated immediately, and the fancy water carafe brought to us. Obviously I think most of the people in here are tourists. Most don't look Alaskan, if you know what I mean. I order the sublime Parm Fry Stack, that I've been dreaming about for 7 months, and he got, oh who cares what he got, I don't remember. He should write his own reviews. Despite the jam-packed dining room, it was not overly noisy, and you could hear your conversation. I had an unfortunate experience at a cafe recently, where I encountered one of those people who love the sound of their own voice, instead of chowing down on some good food. Fortunately there were none of those type in here, and so I got to appreciate my Parm Fry Stack in peace. Our server seemed surprised that I only wanted the Parm Fry Stack, and not a proper entree, and we wouldn't be sharing them between us, along with our main meal. No! Potatoes can be a main too. Well. You know the last time I had them, I was impressed. It was a sizable portion. This time, it was an absolutely enormous portion. A DAUNTING portion. Even I was dubious that I could manage it. But they were as epically delicious as the first time with no difference in flavour at all, which I am supremely grateful for. I don't give out awards such as Number 1 fry in Alaska lightly, but this humongous beast has earned its place, and retained it with consistent quality. Absolutely beautiful!

The vibe inside is old-fashioned, and features antique ranges, but it's definitely a no-frills type of place. The staff are on the ball, and get you seated quickly, with drinks being served fast, and with a smile. We were there for breakfast on Saturday morning at 8am, but have also been there for lunch (Their onion rings are amazing) i got the eggs benedict with bacon, potatoes on the side, I'm not sure what husbands was called, but it featured biscuits n gravy, 3 scrambled eggs, and choice of bacon or sausage. We both got coffee, and it's a diner, so they come around with the coffee pot constantly offering refills. Benedict was only average today I'm afraid, my egg yolk was jammy, rather than runny. The hollandaise was unusual, and quite salty - not awful, just not the best I've ever had, but equally it wasn't horrible. It would not stop me coming back. The potatoes - i believe they were frozen, and not fresh. Again, not awful, just not the best I've had. The bacon was good, the muffin was good too. I ate most of it, so obviously it was an acceptable meal. Husband ate everything but half a biscuit. I'd probably rate the food we had today at a 3, though i have had better food here, so this is not a rating set in stone, my experience was a 4 star, as the staff are lovely, and service is very good, and i will still come back.

We had about a 10 minute wait which gave us time to look over the menu and some of the history on the walls. Once we were seated at a table our server quickly came over with waters and asked if we wanted anything else to drink. A previous review said it's self service for water - we did not experience that. I had an OJ and my husband at tea. The OJ comes in a massive glass, not the standard water cup size. For breakfast I had the burrito which was super good! I was a little hesitant when it said chipotle tortilla - I wasn't sure what that entailed. I'm still not really sure, but I can say the burrito tortilla was a little crispy which helped keep my burrito together when I ate it. The burrito comes cut in half, which makes eating it way more manageable. My husband ordered the biscuits and gravy which he also enjoyed. We will definitely be eating here again when we're in Homer.
