    The Adak bowl

Order from a window and plenty of outdoor seating. In order to make it to Johnnys you either walk or drive most of the spot so the views are nice. They offer water at the pickup window. The bowls took a few minutes to come out but the preparation was beautiful and the food was delicious. The hazelnut crust on the halibut was thick which was more than I expected but still tasty. All the toppings made the bowl very light and fresh. Worth the value in trying the halibut in Homer!

WOW! Definitely a new favorite of mine on the spit. Fresh and delicious locally caught seafood bowls cannot be beat. They are located in the same building as the AK Salmon sisters dock store; where they sell their fish to the public as well as have a coffee shop. Johnny's Corner sources their seafood from Salmon sisters. This is a counter service shop with some picnic table seating as well as a small enclosed area with a few tables to shelter from rain. They serve a variety of rice bowls with locally sourced seafood, chicken, pork belly or tofu. Service at the window was friendly and fast. The wait for our food wasn't very long at all. I order the nush bowl which is a salmon poke bowl. The flavors were delicious. There was a generous portion of salmon in the bowl among other delicious toppings like kimchi, oyster mushrooms & broccolini. Everything was super fresh and it was a very colorful bowl. They had soy sauce & gochujang sauce to add on. I also asked for just a piece of seared salmon for my kid, which they nicely accommodated for me! He gobbled up the salmon! I thought it would be a sashimi style cut just seared in the edges, but they actually serve about a 5 oz filet fully cooked on the bowl. I'm so glad this restaurant was added to the Homer line up. Pizza restaurants seem to be taking over in this city, and it's nice to have a lovely healthy option that sources local seafood! Everyone loves a good poke bowl!

Fresh, tasty bowls that work for just about everyone. The tofu bowl and salmon bowl were similarly delicious.

This may have been my number one meal on my whole week+ Alaska trip. Seriously. A walk-up window next to Salmon Sisters at the end of the spit, and a few picnic tables to enjoy your meal at. Service was so friendly, and food came out quickly. Every bowl was a work of art. I had the Nush, a salmon poke bowl served with broccolini, mushrooms, kimchi, seaweed salad, purple cabbage, egg, and rice. It needed no dressing up. On the pricy side (like $30 with tip), but the flavors were perfect, and the amount of food was phenomenal. The menu is short, but everything is so fresh, and they do offer a vegan tofu bowl as well. Highly recommended!

The food wasn't bad, but also wasn't great. Really expensive, about $28 for a bowl after but the proportions were good. Service wasn't anything special. Go here if you like mushrooms, seaweed salad, kimchi, rice, egg, pork belly, teriyaki chicken, tofu, peanut sauce drizzle, salmon, mango chutney, broccoli, hazelnut crusted halibut, poke, sweet onion, wasabi aioli, mango relish, and purple cabbage. The mango chutney looked like vomit but was a little bit good.

GREAT food! Exceeded our expectations. We tried the raw salmon, seared salmon, halibut and chicken. All were fabulous!

Johnnys corner is always good! There was a line forming about 20 minutes before they opened because they are so popular. Nice outdoor seating areas located at the end of the spit with good atmosphere!

I just want to say thank you to Coal Point for an exceptional experience with packaging our fish. I…read morehad contacted them the day before our scheduled charter and they were very informative and told me to just give them a call as soon as our boat comes in and they would meet us at the dock with the totes. I informed our captain that we would be utilizing Coal point fish processing so they let them know 20 minutes prior to arriving at the docs and the worker was there waiting for us to pull in to retrieve our fish. I gave him my name my number and off he went. The next day, I called in to make sure that the fish would be ready for pick up as we were heading out of Homer that afternoon. When I was ready to pick up the fish, they pulled it out of the freezer and found the best way to have it packaged to be sent home. We were not leaving till the following day and overnighting in Anchorage. As I did have a cooler with me but our fish weighed 45 pounds and with the cooler it would have been over what is allowed for a bag through the airlines without incurring overweight charges so they suggested to ship it in a box and ensure that it would stay frozen for 36 hours, which gave us enough time to overnight in Anchorage and fly home to Hawaii without being thawed. Because we arrived in Anchorage so late we did not have an opportunity to put it in a freezer overnight, but when we reached home and opened the box and cooler that Coal point had packed for us, all the fish was still rock solid. We were also staying on Homer spit so earlier in the day. I did stop by to check out the location prior to having to come back later to pick up our fish overall such a great experience and I will definitely recommend them to friends and family and also would utilize them again if I ever came back.

We met the Water Taxi around 5PM and started the trip across the bay..it's about 20 minutes and truly beautiful! The boat pulls up on the beach and you walk up a small trail to the restaurant. Now we had about 20 diners on the boat so this joint went from having one guy at the bar to like 6-7 tables all of the sudden.. they couldn't handle it at all. We waited about 20 minutes for drinks that just sat at the bar. Appetizers were ready before we got drinks. I know it's ALASKA but this just seemed off for a place of this caliber.. no manager on the floor or anything? Started with some appetizers that looked amazing but fell flat on execution, very little flavor at all. We all got entrees and again everything sounded great in description but had very little flavor; Halibut was barely luke warm but was plated beautifully! We tried all kinds of drinks and they were fine and they had a great whiskey I really liked. Dessert offerings were pretty weak so we just tried a Chocolate Mousse that was not good at all with some Espresso's that were served warm not hot? To be honest the place operated like they had just opened for business.. the waiter never asked how anything was just running thru the motions! Very pricey but the restaurant and location is absolutely beautiful. Talk Later
