The last time I went to Harbor Freight, I predicted that I would not need to return for years, possibly a decade or two. So much for prediction. I had an emergency need for power tools. When confronted with some impossible to eradicate mold, I suddenly realized I needed a drill brush. And since my current drill is a little too expensive to risk shorting out, I needed an inexpensive drill. So I quickly turn to the Harbor Freight app and priced the purchase. I was pleasantly surprised. I had no idea you could buy a drill for 15 bucks. And I've priced drill brushes before, and the package at Harbor Freight was approximately half the price of what I expected. Now the store is meticulously labeled, making it trivially easy to find what you're looking for. Unfortunately the drills and the drills accessories occupied and inordinately large amount of space. Luckily the harbor freight app clearly listed that both items were located on aisle one. It was just a matter of scanning every item to find the ones I wanted. I was pretty astonished by the array of tools. I spotted a few items on my wish list, but I managed to refrain. All in all my trip was quick and pleasant. I had a nice little chat with the security guard who seemed very friendly and was obviously bored with the lack of crime in the store. Check out was quick and efficient except for the coupons. Each of these store I run into are smaller and smaller. This is the smallest one yet. It's also the most organized. It's not dark inside like some of the others. It is an interesting addition to what was clearly once a dying strip mall. We were on our way to Lowes when my husband saw this spot and wanted to stop. He found only 1/2 of what he was looking for. But the woman working there knew where the item was to be located and while I couldn't find it, I didn't mind the trip. The security guard watched my husband's newly purchased items while he joined me in the search for what he was looking for which was very nice. It's weird because after visiting the store in San Rafael ages ago and making a big purchase, my husband said that everything he bought was cheap and complained. And yet, like a lemming running to a ledge, every time we see one of these he wants to stop. I still don't know why. But, I think he's more careful about his purchases which means that he's learned something. read more

Harbor Freight has come a long way from bargain-basement tools to quality tools at reasonable prices. They sell toolboxes that excel at a great price. Their torx sockets are high quality and don't distort with higher torque. I could go on... This store is a gem. They have great customer assistance, and the lines are never that bad, unlike other HF stores. The manager actually works the floor and exudes knowledge about the inventory. Good tool quality, with a great selection, and even better prices? What?! Dude! Harbor Freight is the bees-knees! I used to feel like they only had low quality tools, but over the years I've definitely changed my tune. While there are some budget tools on the shelves for sure, the same can be said about pretty much any store. Where Harbor Freight really shines, is when you need heavy tools like floor jacks, jackstands, air compressors, etc. Those things come at a better price than you'll find elsewhere, and are almost sure to last you for a decade or more of hard use. At this store in particular, I've always found the staff to be upbeat and cheerful, and they're always happy to lend a hand when I need help. I love harbor freight but I would never go back to this location. I was there with my son and watch an employee yelling at a customer, I was shocked at what I was seeing my 4 year old who loves going to the tool store said he was scared and wanted to leave. As we where checking out I was listening to another employee lying to a customer. I got turned on to this place by my uncle, who's a tool collector. I needed a multi-function tool so I headed up to Harbor Freight in Vallejo. Known for their cheap prices on all tool and tool-related items, I made the drive counting on some big savings. The store is about the size of a Kragen with aisles and all. The prices you find on most tools are about 30% cheaper than most stores although the big question is the quality of the tools. After being burned, I believe in quality tools. Harbor Freight stands behind their tools by offering extended warranties with no-questions-asked exchange policy. You have to pay a little extra but even with the warranty, I saved 50% on my new multi-function tool! Thanks HB! I'll be stopping through when I'm on 80. Used to be a good place to buy cheap tools at a great price, but for last several weeks it has been terrible. The store is mostly empty, pretty much everything is out-of-stock, helpless employees can't really do anything to assist customers. Something is seriously wrong with their supply chain, that I hope they will resolve soon before people decide to permanently abandon this store. For people who like budgetary prices, Harbor Freight is the godsend that will shield you from Home Depot and Lowes. I would say this one runs about the same square footage as an average Ace Hardware. Unlike Ace, the square footage is not dedicated to little nuts, bolts, and nails so much as the hammers, wrenches, gloves, etc. They have these doorbusters that get my freebie-loving father coming back for more. And yes, the prices are low. If you're looking for something more specialized, they do not have the selection of products that Home Depot or Lowes has. Cheapest lowest grade quality tools money can buy. They don't even have good prices like that anymore and the team members are rude. Literally watched the cashier add a restock fee to the trash air compressor I bought and didn't even use. The machine was faulty and loud and did not do what it said it was supposed to do. I had a horrible experience today. I came in tonight at 8:14 pm inquiring about a tarp for a party I'm throwing on Sunday. I was with my daughter's father and my two year old daughter. When my daughters dad found an associate she told him to hold on and i assume got the store manager her name is angela, i took a photo of her. That was the lady that i had a problem with. She greeted us very aggressive, rude angry. We were unaware that the store had closed due to the front door being open. We also noticed a lady at the front counter, a few others gentlemen in the front of the store. Had a great experience at this Harbor Freight and plan to go back soon. I wouldn't trust their stuff for tradesmen or for really heavy duty projects, but for the around the house or DIY'er, their prices can't be beat. Everything is laid out smartly and pretty easy to find. The low prices can't be matched. The staff is friendly enough and not in your face trying to "upsell" you. In fact, the girl at the checkout counter gave me a coupon that I didn't know about, so I saved even more! As an advisement to customers, I have been unable to contact Harbor Freight via Customer Service and there appears to be no way for anyone to do so unless under their specified circumstances. I simply wanted to alert them of a poor business practice. I tried unsuccessfully to explain to them that I am a regular customer who pays in cash. I just received a catalogue with the following unpleasant warning: "STANLEY, YOU MUST USE ANY ENCLOSED COUPON BY DEC.31, 2018 OR THIS WILL BE YOUR FINAL COUPON BOOK." I went in today on a shopping spree and one of the tools i was examining didn't seem to work properly. An employee named Ryan went above and beyond and not only listened to my concerns but tried to resolve them. He spent a good 20 minutes trying to figure out a circular drill bit with me, and then went to the back to see if they had more of the cobalt drill bit set i was trying to buy that was missing a drill bit. I will never shop at Harbor Freight again. When my boyfriend first told me about this place some years ago I always wanted to go, he said they had a nice selection and the prices were good! I'm always looking for deals so my first time there I went with store coupons in hand and ended up purchasing way more that I went there for. I noticed the first trip that there weren't enough floor associates. There were a lot of veterans there, one kept asking for help, he looked to be in his 80s? He obviously had bad legs because he was using braces. He asked the cashiers if someone could help him. No one said we will be with you in just a moment or even took the time to acknowledge him standing there...Nothing!! Eventually someone must have helped him because he was in check out as I was getting in line. This is why I will never shop at this store again... I went into this store, mind you I live in San Pablo now, which is not that far for some. But for me when you factor in the 3 hour a day commute and 2 kids, one teen one toddler, this was a special outing for me and a good $25 with gas and toll. I get there, pick up more than expected, just like before. One of my purchases was an air gun. So I could paint things and earn some extra money, maybe start a business. Every time I go to a store I use my calculator to make sure I don't go too far overboard. Once I got to the checkout I realized my amount was $20 over, I paid, and reviewed my receipt and it was that gun. I went back into the store to figure out what happened. The gun was on the shelf in the same place as one $20 cheaper! My boyfriend convinced me it was still a good buy. We get home and he already wants to put it together, open the box, and everything is in there but the gun! How devastating! I overpaid for something mismarked and I didn't get what I paid for! I immediately called the store. The person who answered chuckled when I told him what happened, I didn't think it was funny, me being out already $35 plus gas and toll for some shit I didn't have. He said I would need to bring it back tomorrow and talk to a manager. I told him I couldn't because I had to work. So I planned for the next weekend to return it, but all systems were down for all harbor freight computers and was told that I should wait until the next day... OH wait I have to work! The next 2 weeks I went without a truck and couldn't drive out there until it was repaired. So finally this weekend I was able to have my BF drive me out there only for them to tell me I didn't bring it in, in time! NO one told me there was a deadline, just to come in as soon as I can. SO I DID... The manager Brandon gave me some bogus corporate number that didn't work so I called the other number on the website which had me on hold for about 40 mins, two separate times before hanging up on me! GOOD JOB Harbor Freight you came up on selling a customer a product missing the main components without a discount! I have tried to support local businesses because like many people I like to go to a store and buy things instead of buying them online.
