The last time I went to Harbor Freight, I predicted that I would not need to return for years, possibly a decade or two. So much for prediction. I had an emergency need for power tools. When confronted with some impossible to eradicate mold, I suddenly realized I needed a drill brush. And since my current drill is a little too expensive to risk shorting out, I needed an inexpensive drill. So I quickly turn to the Harbor Freight app and priced the purchase. I was pleasantly surprised. I had no idea you could buy a drill for 15 bucks. And I've priced drill brushes before, and the package at Harbor Freight was approximately half the price of what I expected. Now the store is meticulously labeled, making it trivially easy to find what you're looking for. Unfortunately the drills and the drills accessories occupied and inordinately large amount of space. Luckily the harbor freight app clearly listed that both items were located on aisle one. It was just a matter of scanning every item to find the ones I wanted. I was pretty astonished by the array of tools. I spotted a few items on my wish list, but I managed to refrain. All in all my trip was quick and pleasant. I had a nice little chat with the security guard who seemed very friendly and was obviously bored with the lack of crime in the store. Check out was quick and efficient except for the coupons. I needed help at the register to figure out how to clip them. read more

Harbor Freight Tools - Hardware Stores Near Me - Vallejo, California

Each of these store I run into are smaller and smaller. This is the smallest one yet. It's also the most organized. It's not dark inside like some of the others. It is an interesting addition to what was clearly once a dying strip mall. We were on our way to Lowes when my husband saw this spot and wanted to stop. He found only 1/2 of what he was looking for. But the woman working there knew where the item was to be located and while I couldn't find it, I didn't mind the trip. The security guard watched my husband's newly purchased items while he joined me in the search for what he was looking for which was very nice. It's weird because after visiting the store in San Rafael ages ago and making a big purchase, my husband said that everything he bought was cheap and complained. And yet, like a lemming running to a ledge, every time we see one of these he wants to stop. I still don't know why. But, I think he's more careful about his purchases which means that he's learned something. read more

Harbor Freight has come a long way from bargain-basement tools to quality tools at reasonable prices. They sell toolboxes that excel at a great price. Their torx sockets are high quality and don't distort with higher torque. I could go on... This store is a gem. They have great customer assistance, and the lines are never that bad, unlike other HF stores. The manager actually works the floor and exudes knowledge about the inventory. Employees share the attributes. read more

Always a go too if your not worried about replacing the component after a good use! Been shopping here for years!

Best place to find everything you need to make your life easier and more organized and work at a fair price

CRAPPY CUSTOMER SERVICE- Congrats! Lady behind the counter was giving an attitude when i simply asked if i could use my text received coupon for 2 of the same items. she was being a big "B" with a snarky response, "That doesn't apply to that item." I understand its about 20 minutes til closing time on a Sunday, but please remember, you work customer service, and not all your customers are your same shitty customers just because you're in a ghetto location. I didnt waste any time further browsing. Respectfully, EB read more

Good tool quality, with a great selection, and even better prices? What?! Dude! Harbor Freight is the bees-knees! I used to feel like they only had low quality tools, but over the years I've definitely changed my tune. While there are some budget tools on the shelves for sure, the same can be said about pretty much any store. Where Harbor Freight really shines, is when you need heavy tools like floor jacks, jackstands, air compressors, etc. Those things come at a better price than you'll find elsewhere, and are almost sure to last you for a decade or more of hard use. At this store in particular, I've always found the staff to be upbeat and cheerful, and they're always happy to lend a hand when I need help. I'm definitely a fan, and plan on using them as a go-to for my heavy duty too needs. read more

Hubby likes Harbor Freight. He raves about how cheap their stuff are. So on the way from Napa, we decided to drop by the old location and realized that that place was closed. We found this place thru Yelp. I've only been to the Fremont location and I like this place better. It's cleaner and a bit more organized. We got HDMI cable for alot cheaper than Best Buy. sweet! read more

I love harbor freight but I would never go back to this location. I was there with my son and watch an employee yelling at a customer, I was shocked at what I was seeing my 4 year old who loves going to the tool store said he was scared and wanted to leave. As we where checking out I was listening to another employee lying to a customer. I am in the customer service business and would recommend management look into this location, the concord store and the Fairfield locations are great but I would stay away from this location. read more

I got turned on to this place by my uncle, who's a tool collector. I needed a multi-function tool so I headed up to Harbor Freight in Vallejo. Known for their cheap prices on all tool and tool-related items, I made the drive counting on some big savings. The store is about the size of a Kragen with aisles and all. The prices you find on most tools are about 30% cheaper than most stores although the big question is the quality of the tools. After being burned, I believe in quality tools. Harbor Freight stands behind their tools by offering extended warranties with no-questions-asked exchange policy. You have to pay a little extra but even with the warranty, I saved 50% on my new multi-function tool! Thanks HB! I'll be stopping through when I'm on 80. My overall impression is that it's like Big Lots for guys. read more

I purched a 12V air pump to pump the tires and it seems to work great.I recommend getting this.

We came in today in the afternoon looking to purchase moving blankets and a dolly ! I came across this amazing employee named Quilla ! She was friendly , greeted me with a smile and even went above and beyond to try and help us locate the items we were looking to purchase - unfortunately you did not have these items in stock but I do have to say I wish all people were as great as quilla - what a amazing human being she is and when I come back I'm looking for her as she gives excellent guest service ! I highly recommend this business - great customer service is utmost important to me - again I highly recommend this store read more

My go to place for cheap tools. For everyday mechanics may not want to use it daily but for those that only work on cars when you need to, they work just fine Take advantage of the coupons in your email read more

For people who like budgetary prices, Harbor Freight is the godsend that will shield you from Home Depot and Lowes. I would say this one runs about the same square footage as an average Ace Hardware. Unlike Ace, the square footage is not dedicated to little nuts, bolts, and nails so much as the hammers, wrenches, gloves, etc. They have these doorbusters that get my freebie-loving father coming back for more. And yes, the prices are low. If you're looking for something more specialized, they do not have the selection of products that Home Depot or Lowes has. Still, I got my IKEA-ready hammer and screwdrivers for under $5. read more

Used to be a good place to buy cheap tools at a great price, but for last several weeks it has been terrible. The store is mostly empty, pretty much everything is out-of-stock, helpless employees can't really do anything to assist customers. Something is seriously wrong with their supply chain, that I hope they will resolve soon before people decide to permanently abandon this store. If you e-mail HF customer service, don't expect a response. I'm still waiting for a response to my e-mail from a week ago. I ordered few things online, and haven't gotten any shipping/update notification on that either. This business is going down the drain, what an embarrassment! read more

Agrielle was rude when I asked where the gloves are, when I get there there are empty shelves w/ signs that gloves have been donated to healthcare workers. She could've informed me of this and saved the attitude she had for someone else. Upon exiting the store I hear her telling a coworker at the register about how customers need to learn to read & don't ask her dumb questions. I have chose to never shop here again. Plus they have answer the phone anyways read more

They always have what I need for my house and an able to run in and out without having to go to a big store like Hone Depot! The staff was always friendly and could point me in the direction of whatever i need. Always have good deals as well! Social distancing precautions are taken. read more

Great prices and selection. The hours of operation suck. They open too late and close too early. I got here at 8:30 AM on Sunday, and watched dozens of people come and go when realizing store was still closed. Here's a bright idea: Open earlier on the weekend, people are up early doing things around the home and garage and this would definitely bring plenty of business. read more

Cheapest lowest grade quality tools money can buy. They don't even have good prices like that anymore and the team members are rude. Literally watched the cashier add a restock fee to the trash air compressor I bought and didn't even use. The machine was faulty and loud and did not do what it said it was supposed to do. Faulty everything. Then to add the restock fee at will because the box was opened? $12 for you guys to tape up a useless product and throw it on the shelf for the next unknowing customer to buy. Smh, chimmy terrible business practices and ethics. They literally sell garbage. I would advise anyone to avoid there machine equipment especially. It's so defective it could hurt or possibly kill someone. read more

clerk was very nice and helpful. price signs don't match up with displays. man went to check if something was in stock and never came back. we were left waiting for 15 minutes before we went up frint to find him sitting there. he had no intention of coming back to us. Then he trued to gaslight us. read more

Had a great experience at this Harbor Freight and plan to go back soon. I wouldn't trust their stuff for tradesmen or for really heavy duty projects, but for the around the house or DIY'er, their prices can't be beat. Everything is laid out smartly and pretty easy to find. The low prices can't be matched. The staff is friendly enough and not in your face trying to "upsell" you. In fact, the girl at the checkout counter gave me a coupon that I didn't know about, so I saved even more! Again, if you are a mechanic or general contractor, I don't know if I would shop here (you might even get laughed off the site), but for the average homeowner, tinkerer and scratch mechanic, they are the way to go! read more

I'm probably not the best person to review this place but as someone who needs a tool or sandpaper now and then and maybe some face masks or flashlights, this is a good place for cheap stuff. It's a more useful spot for the handyman in your life when he needs stuff to rebuild a bike (ahem), car or maybe a house. We found an adorable dog bed that Ishi will actually sit in for $5.99. Let's face it. I can shop anywhere. read more

Yo! Harbour Freight: you need to change your name to THE MAN STORE. I've been shopping here since they opened and always walk out happy. The staff is really knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. If something is out of shelf stock, they'll always go in back and find it, if they're out they'll tell you when they'll get more, and sometimes even take your number and call you when it comes in. Prices are great too, and most products are well made and reliable. Go for the big tent sales....they really go all out read more

I had a horrible experience today. I came in tonight at 8:14 pm inquiring about a tarp for a party I'm throwing on Sunday. I was with my daughter's father and my two year old daughter. When my daughters dad found an associate she told him to hold on and i assume got the store manager her name is angela, i took a photo of her. That was the lady that i had a problem with. She greeted us very aggressive, rude angry. We were unaware that the store had closed due to the front door being open. We also noticed a lady at the front counter, a few others gentlemen in the front of the store. Well angela was upset and kept saying we had to leave because the store was closed and she was being extremely rude to the point were she bumped into me!!!! That's unacceptable! I understand why she was upset, as a manager she should've insured the store was locked down. But to push a customer that doesn't live in this city, & doesn't shop at your business is wrong. I'll find the pic of her and update my review later. read more

This is a major ripoff store that engaged in false advertisement and deception. This weekend they advertise and promote 3 Day Easter Sale and even provide coupon however when you try to use their pathetic 25% off at the check out they telling you that 3 day sale coupon is only good for the last day of sale Sunday Don't shop there and don't trust these bastards. Their printed material only designed to bait and switch, no real discounts just bogus and deceptive strategy. read more

I went in today on a shopping spree and one of the tools i was examining didn't seem to work properly. An employee named Ryan went above and beyond and not only listened to my concerns but tried to resolve them. He spent a good 20 minutes trying to figure out a circular drill bit with me, and then went to the back to see if they had more of the cobalt drill bit set i was trying to buy that was missing a drill bit. Thank you Ryan for your help and professionalism. Harbor Freight, give this man a raise. read more

Called numerous times to check availability on a particular item as my local store did not have it in stock. Not the biggest, not the most pleasant, but the only one near by. Got to give it up for their prices and the tools they offer. Your ogre looking douche bag of a manager Casey let my wife and I walk out without ever coming to help us like he said he would!! $1000 walking out the door because his lazy ass couldn't muster up the energy to walk over instead sent a teenager a third of my age to help with tools!! As an advisement to customers, I have been unable to contact Harbor Freight via Customer Service and there appears to be no way for anyone to do so unless under their specified circumstances. I simply wanted to alert them of a poor business practice. I tried unsuccessfully to explain to them that I am a regular customer who pays in cash. I just received a catalogue with the following unpleasant warning: "STANLEY, YOU MUST USE ANY ENCLOSED COUPON BY DEC.31, 2018 OR THIS WILL BE YOUR FINAL COUPON BOOK." Not exactly a "friendly" sort of message. It makes me have to think twice before any future purchases. read more

I would like to give this place a better review but my recent visits were disappointing. One of the cashiers is very rude and (in my opinion) has no business dealing with the public, and the lines can get long on busy days when only one or two registers are open. That being said I still shop here because the return policy and prices are great. I believe with a little bit of effort from management this store can be a 5 star business. read more

Walked in looking for a specific item , could not find it , asked the cashier guy and he went straight to and got me what I needed , I was out in less then 10 minutes.Stores like these you either find what you are looking for right away or have to ask for help.Good thing about this store is that its way smaller then all those chain stores where its easy to get lost in them. read more

I will never shop at Harbor Freight again. When my boyfriend first told me about this place some years ago I always wanted to go, he said they had a nice selection and the prices were good! I'm always looking for deals so my first time there I went with store coupons in hand and ended up purchasing way more that I went there for. I noticed the first trip that there weren't enough floor associates. There were a lot of veterans there, one kept asking for help, he looked to be in his 80s? He obviously had bad legs because he was using braces. He asked the cashiers if someone could help him. No one said we will be with you in just a moment or even took the time to acknowledge him standing there...Nothing!! Eventually someone must have helped him because he was in check out as I was getting in line. This is why I will never shop at this store again... I went into this store, mind you I live in San Pablo now, which is not that far for some. But for me when you factor in the 3 hour a day commute and 2 kids, one teen one toddler, this was a special outing for me and a good $25 with gas and toll. I get there, pick up more than expected, just like before. One of my purchases was an air gun. So I could paint things and earn some extra money, maybe start a business. Every time I go to a store I use my calculator to make sure I don't go too far overboard. Once I got to the checkout I realized my amount was $20 over, I paid, and reviewed my receipt and it was that gun. I went back into the store to figure out what happened. The gun was on the shelf in the same place as one $20 cheaper! My boyfriend convinced me it was still a good buy. We get home and he already wants to put it together, open the box, and everything is in there but the gun! How devastating! I overpaid for something mismarked and I didn't get what I paid for! I immediately called the store. The person who answered chuckled when I told him what happened, I didn't think it was funny, me being out already $35 plus gas and toll for some shit I didn't have. He said I would need to bring it back tomorrow and talk to a manager. I told him I couldn't because I had to work. So I planned for the next weekend to return it, but all systems were down for all harbor freight computers and was told that I should wait until the next day... OH wait I have to work! The next 2 weeks I went without a truck and couldn't drive out there until it was repaired. So finally this weekend I was able to have my BF drive me out there only for them to tell me I didn't bring it in, in time! NO one told me there was a deadline, just to come in as soon as I can. SO I DID... The manager Brandon gave me some bogus corporate number that didn't work so I called the other number on the website which had me on hold for about 40 mins, two separate times before hanging up on me! GOOD JOB Harbor Freight you came up on selling a customer a product missing the main components without a discount! I have tried to support local businesses because like many people I like to go to a store and buy things instead of buying them online. I should've purchased this from AMAZON would've saved money, been less of a headache and completed several projects by now.... Instead I got screwed! read more

This place is awesome! Plus, the store is super clean (new store) compared to other H.F's. And great location; right next to the freeway but it's hidden behind CVS. Whether your looking for tools (for home or car), car accessories, gardening tools, dog items, etc. This place will have it at amazing prices. To save even more money, sign up for their frequent shopper card (you'll pay for that; about $30), check out the online sales ads, check the Sunday ads in the coupon section, AND go to their Black Friday sales! My s/o goes crazy in HF. He would buy anything and everything if he could. Even if it's a tool or items he commonly doesn't use, he would find a project so he can use it often. I love this store as well. I usually go through halogen long light bulbs fast in my office. I hated when those things go out b/c Walmart was too far for me and Home Depot prices are questionable. But H.F. has a 2 pack for $2. Also, they have dog items. It's a very small section, but great items. Also, nightlights for my step siblings. Can crushers (fits 6 cans) since I started saving my recyclables. Glider air planes for my childish s/o. Old-school tricycle and wagon for my niece. An array of bolt locks. Tow rope for my truck (a specialty store would charge 4 times HF's selling price). And so much more! You can walk into HF looking for 1 particular item, but you'll leave with 6 other items! read more

I go with my hubby to Harbor Freight quite often. However we both have noticed the customer service here is lousy! The employees are super lazy if you ask if something is in still in stock. They wont go to the back and check. They just say well if its not there were out. Really? I've overheard employees talking bad about customers in front of other customers. Totally unprofessional- no matter where you work. Then god forbid if you forget your coupon book or ad. they wont let you use the one someone else has left behind. Or they say they don't have any extra coupons. But other HF locations have gone above and beyond when we occasionally forget ours. The people that work here just let off the impression that they are miserable. If that's the case you shouldn't be working in customer service. Straight up! read more
