Happy to have a location closer to home. The store is clean and staff have always been pleasant and helpful. They almost always have what I am looking for. Their clearance selection is usually pretty decent. The prices are more than fair in my opinion and they often have great coupons! read more

I do like to go to Harbor Freight periodically to fulfill some tool needs. Not sure if I just get that 'manly' feel or what. I needed a stud finder to hand a new cherrywood coat rack to match our school cubby. Kids are required to take off their shoes in house. I bought the Pittsburgh 5-1 item #92375. It had an LED light, tape measure and a couple other functions. Bought some other item for the wife (batteries, under cabinet lights). Got home and opened the stud-finder, put batteries in and read the directions. Thing wouldn't work. Thought it was me, so I look up vids on YouTube and every vid said that this product didn't work. I went back to Harbor Freight online and found the item had an average rating of 1.2 out of 5 star with over 800 reviews. WOW. Why sell something that over 800 customers have complained about? They know it's a lemon. So now I have to take it back, stop at Home Depot as I don't want to do the old tried and true but messy "poke a nail in" find a stud (or electrical?) 3 stars as I still like the prices and selection. read more

This store has a much better feel inside and out! We were asked several times if we needed any assistance. Our experience at the Reno store is that you are always searching for someone if you have a question or need assistance. The store itself was much better organized and staffed - it even smelled good which my wife said is something she can't say about any of the other Harbor Freight stores we've been too. It seems like a great idea to have two stores in the Reno/Sparks area as well. We are confident this will be the store we choose in the future! read more

Try to find somebody to help you. It won't happen. Was looking a basin wrench. Online it said it was in stock, on aisle 9. Not on aisle 9. I went up to the ONLY employee I could find. I asked here where it was. She pointed me to "plumbing". Nothing there. I eventually gave up and left. It must be a horrible company to work for. I'll think twice before I go there again. read more

Their prices are never beaten ! If you get a toll from somewhere else you are simply paying too much ! I have gotten many gems from this store and have always enjoyed the cleanliness of the store and the origination. This store is in a newly revitalized area is Sparks which i especially like since it is not contributing to urban sprawl. The size of the store is perfect, not too big and not too small with lots of SALES and lots of coupons. We have many free magnetized free flashlights from purchasing something else. Today I saw a whole area of 70 percent off items as well as lots of discounted camping gear. The staff is kind and informative and they all know where everything is, there were about 35 people in the store this morning, picking up amazing deals ! read more

Horrible..horrible.. customer assistance. Ask anyone a question.. get no help or response. I stood in line to check out the cashier was having trouble with the register.. apparently it was offline ..after five minutes it finally clears he rings up the customer.. then I put my stuff on the counter.. and he says "you'll have to go to the other line .. I have to help a customer load some items " there were two people behind me .. and 4 people already in the other line .. seriously poor customer service! read more

I go to harbor freight in reno. But I needed something that this store had. Im glad I came. I found a few thing I needed and one I couldn't find. So I asked for help. DAWN helped me. And let me tell you she was definitely busy. She was more than happy to help and was very nice about it. She had a cart full of boxes that needed to be put up but she was more than happy to leave that to help me. Im glad this location has someone like her around. Great employee I will come back based on that alone. On a side note lady at the front not so nice. She was basically pushing the buttons putting my address in. Guess she doesn't like the register. One register open and the cashier and customer working on his email addresses. After 10 minutes the guy in front of me left. The other register just finished with a customer, so I turned to go there and was told stay inline that I would be helped next. After another 5 minutes or so, both still talking email and her turning the screen so he could see whatever is so important. The merchandize this guy was buying had not even been rang up. I put my stuff down and left. Harbor freight is more interested in getting your email than selling stuff. I'm done. read more

I came in looking to replace a saw my dad had bought a few years back, now I'm no expert on tools by any means so when I found the section I thought it would be in (which I was wrong) an employee met me with a positive attitude and asked if I needed help. I explained to her that I needed help finding this saw and showed her a picture of it on my phone. She led me right to it and let me know there was a coupon online for it! I thanked her and went on my way, wandered around the store for a bit and went to check out. Only then did I realize that the employee helping me was in fact the store manager, Nikoletta. She was incredibly sweet and helpful (and saved me some money!) all of the employees there were so friendly as I wandered I got asked by 3 other employees if I needed help, the store was well kept and organize and I will definitely be back! read more

Seriously disappointed by the quality of the product I bought, and super angry by the way the manager, Nikoletta, refused to help me with a refund when I misplaced my receipt. The sawhorses I bought were damaged and missing parts. This set my workday back hours. After driving all the way across town for the return I could hardly believe the bad attitude I was met with from the manager Nikoletta. Instead of taking the time to assist me in pulling up the transaction she insisted there was nothing she could do.... the transaction was done 2 days ago on a credit card so I believe she could have easily found it. I had to call Harbor Freight Tools corporate office to get assistance. I will not be returning to this store after the poor product quality and the awful customer service. Nikoletta, get a new job. If you don't want to deal with customers who might be frustrated by the poor quality of the products sold by your employers you shouldn't work in customer service. read more

I walked up to a lady at a register (employee of course) asked her if she was open she said no super rudely and as soon as I walked to another line.. she had the nerve to ask next person please... like who does that! I get that COVID is taking a toll on people and employees of business and there are a lot of rude people.. but her actions were in no way warranted.. read more

Generally, this review is basically the same for the Kietzke Ln, Reno and Prater Way, Sparks location with the notable exception of the employees. I have found on almost every visit that the employees at the Sparks location are friendly and more customer service oriented than the employees at the Reno Store. That is why the Sparks store gets an additional star. Now the tools. Tools are generally low to medium quality - most are made in China. Prices are generally lower than other stores. HF ads are somewhat deceptive. They will compare a tool to a competing brand based on price and declare the HF brand as the winner. The ad does not compare the quality of the components. Return policy at the Sparks store and the Reno store are pretty well adhered to. Some items (example AC refrigerant) are not returnable but I haven't seen any signs that say that. Ask if you're not sure. Best to read the user reviews on an item you might purchase. Anything less than four stars should probably be avoided unless it is for very limited/ temporary use. Most of the items will be fine for the average homeowner/do-it-yourself kind of person who will only use the tools for light to medium duty or will seldom use. If you are planning on HEAVY duty or constant use, you may want to consider a more expensive brand like Jet, Milwaukee, or DeWalt, et al. I have purchased many items from HF and am very happy with them. Other items I have returned. Again, read the reviews on the individual tools. I never go there without a 20% off coupon and a freebie coupon for an extra item. All in all, HF is worth visiting. read more
