This location has horrible customer service! The lady with black frame glasses and long hair was extremely rude and acted like she was annoyed at my presence. I can't say for sure if my race & dark skin tone was a factor. I asked for her assistance a 2nd time & she was VERY condescending. Then the older lady I think her name was Mary was having a great time talking to her coworkers until I asked her a question & she said "I'm on break, I'll get someone for you". The only one that even acknowledged me & asked if I needed help was the black girl at the register and she was ringing someone up but still took the time to acknowledge me. I'm on "vacation" and sick of sitting around the house, so I decided to go kill some time here. I don't often buy new tools (you can find much better quality and prices on used stuff on Facebook Marketplace). But I do find some good deals here on stuff like picks, mini screwdriver sets, moving blankets, etc. I needed an arbor press and could have bought a nice old used one for $150 but HF had a new one for like $80 so I said what the hell, I'll give it a try. Okay let me be clear... I love Harbor Freight Tools BUT it seems like every time I need something serious this Orland location NEVER has it. I end up going to Burbank Schereville which sucks. What's the point in being an inside track member if I can't get what I need from nearest location? So I'm done with inside track and Burbank will be my home store. I can't believe there has not been a review of this place for over two years so let me throw my two cents in the mix. As most people know, you are not buying the world's most durable tools from Harbor Freight, but they serve a purpose. Purchased a electric chain saw from here a couple of years ago for the main purpose of cutting some tree roots. And for the price I paid for the saw, I really didn't care if it got damaged in the process. But after doing some yard maintenance with the saw this weekend, I decided that I should check the oil level in the tank. As it was getting a little on the low side I decided to look on the Harbor Freight site to see want kind of oil it took and if they had it in the store. At this point this is where the fun started. Come to find out that there was a safety recall last year on the saw that I had purchased. Checked the listed model number and color of the saw to see if this one of the recalled models, the one that I had was one of the units recalled. The thing that really got me mad that there was notice sent to me saying that there was a safety issue with the saw. Years ago I purchased a food item from Costco that was being recalled and they tracked me down to tell me. Take the saw back to the store and asked for the manager, after waiting a few minutes he appears from the back. I explain the recall to him and ask him to exchange it. He starts to mutter that it has been over a year since the recall went out. But looking at the bulletin board, there was a printed notice there about the recall. I explained that if I was not looking on the website for oil, I would have known that saw I was using was a possible instrument of death. And that most companies would have sent out a notice. All in all, I got me replacement saw that is brand new and ready for the next set of roots to cut. read more

My son needs a generator, so being a great mom, I decided to give him mine and get a new one. So, we went in and were looking around and a lovely lady, Shakita (spelling?) came up and said my shoe was untied. My being older and not real bendable, she just got down and tied my shoe without making me feel like a fool. I truly appreciated that SO much. Anyway, we were looking at this fancy generator and she was telling us about it, verified that it was in stock and got us more information on her walkie. Seriously went over and above what I am used to at ANY store. Then, she came back with the option of an open box generator, answered all our questions and showed it to us. It was right by the, managers office. Oh Lord, was it Mike or Mark... I am so sorry, I have confused myself. Regardless, he came and helped us load it into our car with Shakita and it was super heavy. Now, I must add that this entire transaction of about 20 minutes was done with great humor and real professionalism. I was blown away. Thank you! Although I will say they were not allowed to follow us home and get it OUT of the car. :) read more

This has to do with coupons and "in store only coupon" trailer 62666 and a great deal if only there was one in stock. I called 6 different locations all "no stock" I called Contact Customer Service By phone: 1-800-444-3353 and the woman said that's what they do. You have to call each store until you find one that has one. It is great to have a sale on an item looks great until you want to buy it. Customer service is the worst I have ever come in contact with. Don't care literally said well sir that's to bad. Not a compassionate sole. Glad this isn't a life or death situation Glad hospitals don't operate this way. No rain check, no help in locating one. read more

Harbor Freight Tools - If you see one yelp! - Hardware Stores Near Me - Orland Park, Illinois

Being a hands on person I realize that sometimes I don't need the most expensive Snap on or craftsman tools. So, I visit this Harbor Freight Tools location to pick up wrenches, sockets, various hand tools, various supplies, and cheap goods. This location has plenty of parking and is easy to access. We have visited for some of the sidewalk sales. There is always ample space. Every time we go to this store it is a problem because I want to purchase items but know I do not need them. I have had success wit the pittsburg brand hand tools and haven't had anything break on me. I would not recommend any of their welders nor electronics. I have heard folks that experienced issues with the welders and some of the cheaper electronics. We will definately frequent this store due to the proximatey and goods availability. read more

Tools r cheap n break easily. If u buy a set n piece breaks u have to bring full set back or no dice. They always ask u if u r getting mailer n i m suppose to but i always seem to never get n end up paying full price for their cheap tools read more
