I frequent this business a lot, in order to get the tools for my garage stuff at a decent price. A typical hardware store, so don't expect all is in order there, it has it's system, but if you are new, it can take you some time to get used to the index and inventory selection. The prices are competitive and the quality of the merchandise is decent. Their specials can be very enticing to actually buy more than you intended to. But if you don't watch it, you can fall in to the cheap trap and get tools not even worth the money you just did spend. So in sum, it's more a insider shop, if you know what you want, you will be happy there, for just browsing... Not so much

Tiny 2 stroke generator for $88. We'll see how it goes.

Good place to get cheap tools, but the people aren't very helpful. Great variety though!

This hardware store is my go-to. Craig, the owner, is knowledgeable and personable, and is a…read morewonderful local resource. He's also apolitical. And by apolitical I mean he's not a Trump supporter, which makes it uncommonly pleasant to shop there. He and his wife Laura are pillars of the community and a fantastic resource about all things Mossyrock, and in fact they maintain a flyer with local numbers of various businesses of especial use to new residents. When I first moved here I don't know what I would've done without both the store and their list, and I shop there to this day, even when I could save a few pennies online. They hire fantastic employees who know what they're doing too. Best possible customer service. And if they don't have it in the store (though believe me it's downright amazing the breadth of inventory they have for such a small town) they can order anything you need quickly. Highest possible recommendation - if I could give them 10 stars I would do! Also dog friendly!

Looked on the website for seed starting mix before I went in. The site showed 16oz bag in stock at…read morea certain price. The bag was on the bottom shelf. Price tag was too small to see the price and sku clearly. At the register it rang up higher. On inquiring about it , turns out to be a different shu. Same mix, same weight. But higher price. Only choice on the shelf. Seemed like a bait and switch to me. A little under-handed. Didn't appreciate it. This place has always been extremely high anyway. I don't care where I have to go from now on for something. It will never be here.

Being a homeowner I've been to a lot of hardware stores, Lowes, Home Depot, Ace, etc. And because…read moreLowes is the closest to our pos, it's usually our go to. Now from my experience past and present, it seems that most of the folks that work there (and other hardware stores) seem kinda "habut" (pidgin Hawaiian for grumpy), not very proactive when it comes to customer service. Almost seem kinda annoyed at customers. I don't know how many times I've walked by an employee w/o being acknowledged or asked if I needed help with anything. When I do need help I always end up, 1. trying to find someone in that department and 2. asking for help. It's not to say they don't help, you just have to ask. Years of this I've kinda grown accustomed to hardware store customer service being this way. Never rude, more ignored and not engaging. This also taught me to be somewhat independent and resourceful, pretty much knowing the layout and aisles to find what I need. Then one post Thanksgiving day I stop by the Lowes in Lacey while visiting family to pick up some stuff to fix stuff around my mom's house. Through out my entire visit to that store I swear I didn't walk past one employee w/o a greeting or being asked if I need any help finding anything or what not. In all my years I don't think I've ever had this kinda customer service from a hardware store EVER! Normally they don't say anything as I walk by, in some instances they kinda walk the other way or avoid eye contact. Not this Lowes, I was greeted, smiled at, talked to. I almost didn't know what was going on. Now I don't know if it's like that all the time at this particular Lowes , but I say this with the utmost sincerity, this was the most nicest, helpful, pleasant experience in a hardware store I have ever had! Goodness, if they are like this all the time it would almost be worth that two hour commute just to shop there from my house...almost. And to top it off, I found everything I needed. As for customer service from this particular visit, 5-star!

I have an issue with this store's security department. Mainly the woman who works security. While I…read moreunderstand that we have an issue with people stealing in our city lately, I believe it should be directed towards people actually stealing. Not people paying more than $400 in a single transaction like I was. While at self check out and while being helped by 2 employees already helping me scan items, this store's security woman decided to come supervise and force them to rescan nearly all of my items, because apparently she felt like I fit the description of somebody who might steal. When she figured out that I had already scanned all the items correctly, I did not receive an apology, not even a smile from her.She looked me up and down and proceeded to scoff at me while walking past. I requested to speak to management but they did not have a manager on duty that evening, which I find odd. I spoke to the head cashier who was not helpful at all. I think she managed to squeeze out an i'm sorry one time. Despite having many items to load into my vehicle and being asked if I needed help and agreeing, i did not receive the help promised and had to struggle with three cart loads out to my vehicle, alone. What kind of customer service is that?! Very rude indeed. Next time maybe they should center their security around people actually stealing not people who are actually paying.
