Today, Saturday the 24th of July, I called to inquire about out order and learned this store is not even open on Saturday, and they don't even have a method to leave a message. WOW a new low in customer service at a time when stores should be busting their chops to deliver. I called the Seattle store and they told me it's a corporate policy to close stores on Saturday if the volume is not there! I could expect this type of penny pinching from a Mom and Pop store (and where ARE those Mom and Pop paint stores anyway?), but not from Rodda, which is owned by Cloverdale Paint of Canada - THE LARGEST PAINT manufacturer in Canada. They have the base paint but are unable to mix a custom color as the tints are in very short or null supply. I suspect they reserve what tints they have for their commercial painters. What an incredible inventory for a store so close to town. I came looking for seed and bone meals, ground rock minerals, lime, and such, for making Complete Organic Fertilizer. They had everything needed to make COF, and quite a bit more. They even had Langbeinite. Wow! Friendly and super-efficient customer service was provided during both of my trips this week, and Star was especially helpful in the amendments area out back by the bales of straw. I used to go shopping for farm supplies at another store south of Oly, but no more. With a convenient location, friendly staff, and one of the best selections of stock anywhere, Eastside UF&G is my favorite new farm store. It's worth the drive from Seattle, or anywhere else in the Puget Sound region. I'll be back!
