Matched old wall paint perfectly. Great service and prices are way lower than Sherwin Williams.

I started remodeling my condo to get it ready to be a rental. When I first purchased the condo I painted the down stairs in "Greywood" by behr. And the kitchen and downstairs bathroom were both a grey-ish color by behr.....I hated it. Hated it. Hated it. And I knew that it would not attract renters. We aren't even going to get into the upstairs color patterns.....anyways. I started watching property brothers like crazy and became obsessed with light greys! I came across a color called grey owl by Benjamin Moore. It was the perfect grey! I just knew it! So I went to the Benjamin Moore Mallory store in federal way and got a simple. I SCREAMED!! It was literally perfect! Wasn't too glossy or too dull. A couple of weeks later I got up and drove to this Mallory a store. The employees were helpful and so kind! I told them what I needed which was 3 gallons of grey owl. 1 gallon in semi gloss and 2 in eggshell. They also played with my son while we waited and things got pretty adventurous. When my paint was done I paid and we left. I get back to the condo and start painting the upstairs. As I'm painting and it's drying I can't help but notice how glossy it looked, so I stopped painting. I went down stairs and painted a patch of the eggshell gallon I had, right next to the patch from the sample I bought previously. I let it dry and I compared the two. The new gallon was visibly shinier! And the color was off. I waited for the next day and packed all the paint back up and took it back to the store, along with the sample that I brought. I had my son with me during this visit so it could've went 1 of 2 ways. I came in and told them the issue, I gave them the sample and they looked at it under their paint analyzer thingamajig. That's when he told me that the sample was made out of a different color mixture than what they mixed and that's why it looks different than my original sample. Then another employee comes over and tries to tell me "well samples are just for you to get an idea of what the color looks like but they won't be exact" and I told him exactly "that makes no sense. It literally defeats the purpose of a sample". I was done talking with him by then. And it still didn't explain why it was so much more shinier. So they're back there trying to figure it out and I'm irritated as hell. The manager joins in on the conversation and points out that the name brand paint I purchased (ultra sheen) has a higher sheen gloss on theIr egg-shell finish than all of the other name brands. Therefore if I want it to be just like the sample then I would need to purchase the Benjamin Moore paint namebrand. So they swapped it out, tested it, and we were good to go. I Got home and started painting the walls and they were exactly what I wanted! I must point out that not once during that entire ordeal did I receive any type of attitude or unwillingness to help from the employees that were helping me and I truly appreciate them for that. Good store! Good team! For the most part lol no hard feelings

We knew we were going to paint right away because the previous owner(flipper) has painted all of the trim TAN! Who does that? Anyways, we started in our bedroom. We began prepping and the paint started PEELING off the trim. In chunks! Immediately I place blame on the contractor, because OBVIOUSLY they hadn't prepped properly. We sanded and sanded and patched and cleaned and primed. We painted using Behr Premium paint and it came out beautifully. Covered in one coat, but we did 2 on everything to be safe. Then, we moved on to our living room. We decided to go with a beautiful blue color. We were told, "you have to use Sherwin-Williams paint if you want a good paint job" so, we did. We bought 2 gallons of Oceanside Blue in matte finish Duration paint. We prepped, primed and started painting. Here is where the trouble begins. The paint is covering SO PATCHY AND UNEVEN. We power through thinking "maybe it's because of the color" so, we let is dry overnight and start again the next morning. It took both gallons of paint to finish the second coat. It was still awful. It was striped and patchy and there were places that looked like we hadn't even done a second coat. We went back to the store and got another gallon of paint. The staff assured us that after a 3rd coat we would be happy with the finish. To be safe, I asked with rollers they recommend and purchased the rollers they suggested. Once home we dug back in and started painting. 3rd coat on and things started improving, but, still needed another coat in places. We moved onto the doors and headed to Sherwin Williams Paint for our FORTH gallon of paint. The doors were prepped (sanded, cleaned, primed) 2 coats of primer and 2 coats of paint and the door looked like garbage. It took 4 coats of paint on the door to get it even. We let the door cure for 2 days(ok. We had to work so it sat there for 2 days waiting for us) Today, we hung the door and guess what?! The paint is coming off! So, we did some research and found that this is common with Duration paint from Sherwin Williams. I looked at My husband and said, "I wonder if the paint they used was also Sherwin Williams and that is why it was peeling off?" He went to the garage and SURE ENOUGH the paint they used was Sherwin Williams Duration. On both interior and exterior (which explains the bubbles and peeling spots outside) I am so angry. I will be complaining to every single place I can think to complain. You don't want to know how much money we have spent. These are the pictures of the progress and peeling chipped paint. So ANGRY
