Customer service: 4.0 Store Selection: 4.0…read more Let start by saying their customer service is really good! Can it feel there are more employees than customers = YES! BUT I would rather have employees ready to help you than having employees walking by you or not knowledgeable about the items they are trying to sell you (yep thinking about their competitors). I've purchased things for small projects, home repairs and even cleaning supplies. And I will continue to support a community style establishment.

It's my hardware store. I've found the Goldilocks of hardware stores. JUST RIGHT. Pocket Ace- just,…read moreno. Emigh- across town, ghetto 'hood but not ghetto prices. East Sacramento- that closed, now it's a plant store. Who needs a hammer when you can have a succulent? Elk Grove: $$$, plus being asked if I need help multiple times is scary (five times in five minutes, rule of thumb). Newbert's: yes, this was the best but it's been closed for decades and is probably a cannabis dispensary now. Archie's: also closed. Don't get me started. Why: Selection: This store has pretty damn much anything you could need, with limits. Kitchen, hardware, tools, electrical, garden, paint, nuts, bolts, chemicals. It's not a warehouse, it's a STORE. So calm down if you don't have every option, you're going to get in the ballpark. This fall I found a great manure fork here (no I don't live in Iowa but it's a great garden tool and mine got "lost" in my last move). PS, the big orange didn't even have one. Price: I was pricing Weber bbqs this summer and the units here were 10% less than pocket ace or Elk Grove. That got my attention. I recently got a great shovel for $16.99 on sale. Yes, a sale. You will have a range of options and usually there is a cheap(Er) option than at other stores, and better made. Recently I was pricing shovels at Home Depot and their cheaply made unforged (but costly) shovels couldn't match the shovel I bought at Hollywood. Help: someone can help you if you ask but you can browse without feeling like you are being stalked. Oddities: my last time here while at check out a customer came in cradling a duck and said out loud "I have a duck that needs repair." No one was fazed. The duck, alas, was a decoy but quite convincing. Need I say more?

And once again Lowe's completely came through for me. I've always felt like Lowe's has a little more of the home and garden decor vibe compared to other hardware stores. It feels a little more curated and easier to find those farmhouse or outdoor pieces that actually feel pretty and functional. Not only did I find the perfect white trellis for the exact space I had in mind, but it was over 90% off. Total score moment. I also found the perfect farmhouse-style white rectangular planter for the bougainvillea I had just picked up, and it ended up looking so gorgeous together. Honestly I left way happier than expected after originally feeling disappointed not finding anything at the first store. Helpful tip: Definitely check the clearance garden section because apparently that's where the magic was hiding this trip. So glad I decided to make the extra stop because Lowe's really delivered for me yet again.

I decided to replace the top with a corrugated top. This place is just about 5 blocks away. Really convenient. I had to go back several times to get the right materials to fix the carport. They had a lot of the items I needed but the top ridge cap wasn't in stock and i had to order it online and have it shipped to the store. It delayed my project by a week which kind of sucked. Plus the item wasn't the same color as the rest of the roof. It was a clear gray and the rest of the roof wasn't clear at all. When the cap came it wasn't that wide either. I got it to work but I wish it had been wider. All the other materials were at the store which I was happy with. I just noticed that the prices are so inflated than previous years. Everything is more money. The staff here are really friendly and help you out when you need it. The cashier were great. I try reaching out to them, saying I still want the order, as the email says to email them for contact. No response.
