Its a Hallmark store for people that didn't want to drive to Home Depot. Jt's frustrating, asking for information is like who can you get. Every 5th time I get help from someone who knows whats up, but most of the time they don't help, push to an aisle but are tol busy on the phone (texting or looking at stuff) to help. A few people are awesome, rest don't know or don't care or both. If not for a 5 minute drive here I would not buy anything here. Also I hit 33.3% help this time. 1 out of 3 people actually wanted to see about helping on a question, but didn't know about the product and thats where the transaction ended. It didn't take place today. Maybe I will need beef jerky soon. read more

They know me, they joke, we smile, and they have the things I need. Why look other places right? Ace hardware in Elk Grove is amazing and go above and beyond for their clients. The staff at the new Bruceville store should teach this old country store a lesson in Customer Service. The Grantline store is horrible to work with. Larry was the rudest person ever. I have never met someone so rude and condescending in my life working retail. Asking a question about an item in stock and he first responds did you just call (with an attitude)? No we haven't. He was very short, confrontational and honestly a jackass. He was being so rude to my husband that I spoke up and told him to soften up a bit and try being kind. I'll be filing a corporate complaint as well. You can't treat people this way Larry, it's wrong! We did not purchase the part here and I won't ever step foot in this ACE hardware as long as Larry works there. Thankfully the location next to my house is beyond helpful. Friends, visit the Elk Grove Blvd and Bruceville store if you need help, I promise you that you can count on anyone in that store and they will do it with a smile. read more

The clerk that helped us in the store was polite but the employee working the register was rude, as it is the store is small and I am handicapped, the store violates the gaps required for mobility devices, I was able to get to the checkout counter near the entrance ok but the clerk just said other side. I said not sure if I can get around there to which I got a shrug. Through the entire transaction she looked as though she was bothered having to help me. We are not from the area and went out of our way to go to ACE instead of a big box. Normally that is the right thing to do but not for this store. Tried here multiple times and they don't have the most basic necessities you expect for an ace. No Stihl 2 stroke mix or bar oil, only electric. Can't remember the other thing I stopped by and needed they didn't carry. Lastly asked if they had concrete because I came up one bag short. Bought it and they brought it to my car only to realize it was fence post mix. Staff is awesome and friendly, management product choices, merchandising and training definitely sub par. Only reason giving 2 star and for the hourly employees being nice and having a good work ethic. read more

While they have had what I have needed the few times I have come in. They tend to follow you around, and seem to have to stock or dust the shelf right next to you! Looking at the shape and condition of the store, I assume that they don't do this in their regular duties. I'm an Oregonian that works a handful of days a month at two of the larger hospitals in the region. Perhaps it's my shaggy Oregon appearance!? I have a long beard, and dress casual in my off time. I feel like they treat me like I'm transient, looking to knick some nuts and bolts! ‍ I will have to admit that is a lot nicer coming here, than having to drive to the big box stores. read more

Everyone that works here was super helpful and friendly! They all asked us if we needed help with anything whenever we walked past one of them. In addition, we had three keys that we wanted to be made into house keys. We went to Lowe's first and they wouldn't cut our keys unless we bought the key from them. So we called Ace and they said they would do it! Not only were they super friendly but all three keys work perfectly. Will definitely return! read more

Honestly, shopping here was one of the best consumer experiences I've ever had. The employees are so nice and incredibly helpful. I needed a desk grommet (I didn't even know that was the name for it, but when I described it, the employee quickly knew and said, "oh, a grommet," and quickly took me directly to them). She also took me to two other things I needed, and her coworker gave me helpful advice on the project I was doing. I was so impressed by their efficiency, knowledge, and friendliness! Even though this store is not as close to me as Lowe's (I came originally because I was across the street for lunch), I will come here from now on. read more

I love this store! It's small, familiar, close by and they give you free popcorn when you come in! The local hardware store is really a thing of the past, which is why supporting small stores is so important. The prices may be slightly elevated (very slightly) but it's worth it to me to get greeted at the door, walked directly to the item I am searching for and to have help loading items into my car! I also love the rewards program they have and getting dollars off of my items when I bring in my earned rewards coupons! Support this place if you can! read more

Okay, it is very unlikely for me to write a review of a hardware store but for this specific Ace Hardware, i had to. Exceptional customer service and great prices! I got my 2001 Jeep Wrangler key done here for cheap, when Jeep tried charging me $60! The key works great and i have no problems with any key made here. Every one of the employees were so warm and welcoming, greeting me as i came in. This location is so cute and super friendly, making me feel right at home. I love it. read more

I was excited to check this place out but when I got there to my surprise was was not able to go inside. Unfortunately, the parking area is so small I wasn't able to find a place to park my van and go inside. It was a wasted trip. This Ace hardware is such a nice outing each and everytime. Went originally for a couple of screws to bolt a carborator back together. Both guys in the back were friendly, quick and went out of their way to help us find what we needed. Also decent selection of everything, organized and clean. This Ace store may not be huge but it has all the basic items you would need, in addition to the classic charm of a rural hardware store. I was randomly in the area and remembered that I needed to have a key cut, so I stopped in. I got what I needed and was in-and-out in 5 minutes. Easy peasy. I drove the extra few miles to this store today because I needed a very specific set of bolts and I knew I wouldn't get any help at one of the big box stores. Sure enough, I was promptly greeted and asked if there was anything I needed help with. Luke (I think that was his name) helped me get what I needed and I was in and out in just a few minutes. And, my kids got free popcorn! Basically, this place is the polar opposite of a Lowes or Home Depot, it's small (but still has most of what you need), and the employees are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Today I went to Lowe's for some plumbing parts. After waiting for assistance for nearly 1 hour, I went to ACE. I was greeted as I walked in the store I went to the plumbing section and was looking for the items that I needed. I was there for less that a minute, and I was approached by a customer service supervisor. He asked me if I needed assistance, and suggested what I would need to fix my plumbing problem. He suggested that I purchase a special tool in case it was needed. He said if I didn't need it, to bring it back. The customer service was outstanding. The cashier was busy but very pleasant, with a great attitude. ACE may be small, but the overall customer service is outstanding. The employees make you feel at home. They go out of their way to make sure you get the proper parts for your home repairs. I was in and out of ACE in under 10 minutes. read more

I went there to have a key cut for my Mustang, I had my own key Blanks, I was greeted with smiles and welcomes from the crew and a Great Big O Hello from Shaun, They did cut my key, and did not charge me anything, was told the chip needs to be programmed, but hey I was grateful for what they did, I tried to give them something ($$$) for cutting my key, but they would not take any Money from me, this is one of the last real neighborhood hardware stores left, all the staff seemed helpful , in Good spirits, and the atmosphere of this place was down right Cool and welcoming , I will be back for other needs when needed read more

We ordered a Weber Q3200 from ACE Hardware in Sheldon CA on May 17. It was a promotional offer through May. Purchase from ACE, they assemble it, deliver it, and you get a free refill on a propane tank. It was too late for their Friday delivery. It arrived May 25. They called us to tell us the box had been chewed through, along with wiring. They re-ordered. It arrived on June 1. I initiated contact to confirm it had arrived. I was told it would be assembled on Saturday and the manager would deliver it on Sunday (today). I just called and was told the manager had gone home for the day, but the employee contacted her and then returned my call. Excuse: Don't know who told you it would be assembled and delivered by Sunday, but we don't have the manpower. Just to be clear, other than the call regarding the varmint chews and the return call today, I am the one who initiated all of the phone calls. I think the manager doesn't care a hill of beans about our order. They have our money. I want my Q delivered TOMORROW. By the way, my husband was there over an hour ordering it because they had no idea about the promotion, therefore they said they don't deliver. Evidently we're an exception...if it ever happens. read more
