Yeah, the stuff is kinda schlocky, but I've found it all at least _works_ and it's held up well enough for my occasional, non-pro usage. (If you actually require professional grade, I'm pretty sure you're smart enough to not be reading this review of Harbor Freight Tools for your shopping needs.) Yes, it's all from Communist China - what are you gonna do? The prices are good (sometimes great - sometimes only fair . . . you want to know your pricing on your items) and they don't seem to be making much that's affordable on this side of the ocean these days. Okay, their stocking is a little loosey-goosey at this store . . . but that's because the _serious_ people (mostly retired geezers like me, but the ones who are more serious about it than me because I miss out a lot) get in here quick and buy up much of the stuff that goes on sale _right away_. (It's a little unfair to read complaints that stuff is sold out: the store HAD it when the sale started; you just didn't get in here fast enough.) And while it's sometimes hard to find a worker to help you find something (because they're always hustling - RESTOCKING) and you are probably going to have to wait in a line in the Corral of Tempting Stuff You Didn't Know You Needed in order to check out, I've found the workers here at this Harbor Freight Tools (and this includes the always on-site armed guards - gotta love Burque) are always really nice and helpful, even if they're in a hurry. Sign up for their email specials - you'll save a ton of money (and find yourself buying all manner of things that you didn't know you needed, LOL). read more

Very disappointed happening in this store. Advertised freebie with any purchase but when I tried they said it was only good people who are in their $30 a year club. Went back to ad on line and only thing I found was other restrictions may apply. Seems very sneaky unless I missed something. read more

Bait and switch. I received a message at 7:46 am Sunday from harbor freight with coupons for Black Friday deals. I went to the store shortly after they opened at 9:00 am to purchase a floor jack with a coupon only to be told they were sold out. I asked for a rain check and was denied. I contacted customer service the same day and four days later received a lame response with no offer to resolve the situation. They are dead to me. I won't be back. read more

I've been a customer of Harbor Freight for many years. I went into the store today to pick up three (3) ammo cans. When I went to check out, their was only one cashier and a very long line (at least 10 or more customers). I put the ammo cans back and walked out of the store. The manager of this store needs to ensure there is adequate staffing. I will not be back as I have found another vendor that I can order the same product online and have it delivered to my house. read more

8/21/2023 just pick up an HaulMaster HD trailer dolly to make an power dolly did some alterations and when i put it together found some parts missing when back to store 03353 they told to bring it back. They could not give the missing parts they told to go online and find the replacement my self very poor CUSTOMER SERVICE ! I when on HF .com parts and the dolly does not come up so i can not get the part VEVON .COM is a better place to buy read more

What can one say about Harbor Freight Tools that everyone doesn't already know? The cheap Chinese made tool purveyor known across the country. Frankly, at their prices the tools are damn near disposable. Obviously if you make your living with tools, you shop elsewhere with a higher quality standard. However, I bet even the snobbiest of tool snobs still have a small handful of tools from Harbor Freight Tools, they just don't want anyone to know it. I made the rounds of this Harbor Freight to stock up on some technical supplies for some of my staff in ABQ. I'm not sure what it is but I kind of like wandering Harbor Freight locations. They have good deals on things like voltmeters but they also have a strange feel about them...somewhere between a flea market and a hardware store. But the bottom line-better selection than Lowe's or Home Depot on many items, good deals...but you will find some klunkers (in terms of quality) among the deals so examine your selections wisely prior to purchase. I could honestly spend hours in this store just going up and down the aisles just looking at all the cool but cheap gadgets they have. Every visit I find something different. Harbor Freight is perfect for a tool you are only going to use once or afraid of destroying during use. I bought a screw gun which was junk the second I brought it home but it was only $34. You get the idea. Looking for a tool to last years, go elsewhere! If you are looking for a tool to use once or twice this is the place to go. Everything you never knew you always wanted is here. Pneumatic drill? Check. Pile of axes? Check. Solar patio lights? Check. I mean, I could go on and on but I won't. It's basically a tool supply store that has gardening and automobile and home repair items. Sort of like Sears, but everything is made in China and I am sure is meant to be disposable. And I have to say, I don't mean that in a bad way. The tools are so cheap, it's sort of ok if they only last a year. I've had craftsman that didn't last long either, and now that Sears is going out of business, I'll buy even more things here. I assure you I can always find something to buy here. Last time was patio lights (the nice heavy duty ones) and saw blades. And it cost me less than $30. read more

This is a store where "buyer beware" really comes into play. There is a lot of Chinese crap here. A quick Google of HF reviews gives you a tip of what you're in for. You can read horror stories for hours. So why use it? THE GOOD, BAD & UGLY TRUTH There are times when the average person will use something only once or infrequently. This is the place to get that tool. Sometime it's cheaper than Walmart. If you need a single file, replacement grinder wheels, gloves etc. maybe this is the place. If you thinking about getting a higher end item from here, I strongly suggest you do your homework. There is a site online at toolkit.com that will give you a list of 1000 or so items that's been compiled from across the web from people who use tools daily. it details what items are worth purchasing and which are crap. This is not a totally comprehensive list, mind you, but it will help you navigate what's what in HF. Some of it discusses the comedy of this place. The jist is; NEVER BUY ANYTHING CRUCIAL THAT YOUR JOB OR LIFE DEPENDS ON HERE. I've heard of contractors using this place as a lending library. They keep the receipt & use within 30 days, return. They have a few programs to be aware of. Txt, Email, Postal and buy-in. Sign up and you'll get coupons in the mail along with weekly fliers. You can almost always find a 20% off coupon and sometimes 20% off plus one free item in a mailer, via txt or online.. (Warning: Which they may try to charge you for the free item) FIND & USE THE 20% OFF COUPON. One per day/visit. The inside track club is there buyers club and I don't spend enough there to find they would be worth it. But if you do join, look for the $10 gift card online and that will help you get your money worth from the purchase price of the club. Harbor freight does well because many households use contractors, repair man and so on for things these days. For the weekend hobbyist, tinkerers and small project guys this is the place to pick up your starter tools or things you will use from time to time. I have heard this rule of thumb, if you use it enough to break it/wear it out then go buy yourself a quality item. There are a few quality items at HF & if you wait for sales/ use coupons, you can do very well here. If you want 100% quality 100% of the time, go elsewhere. I know they often ask for a 20% restocking fee even if you walk outside & go back in. Customer service is known to be bad. I've seen the bad attitudes, the indifference, unprofessional staff and the frustrated consumers. Go in expecting this & you are prepared. I still get items from here from time to time, but I go prepared. read more

HF has any tool you will ever need. Walmart used to be my favorite store until I moved to ABQ and discovered HF. Its great for things like zip ties, electrical tape, batteries, grinding wheels, etc. and the type of tools that you may not use that often as a do-it-yourselfer. I haven't purchased wrenches or hand tools from here, but I've seen that they have a lifetime warranty now. I've bought a welder, floor jack, motorcycle jack and a generator from HF. No complaints so far. I enjoy going to the store on my lunch break to pass the time and see what all I think i'll need for my next project. Sign up for the coupons. Some are well worth it. read more

Store and service could not be worse. My wife tried to return an unused item with receipt 2 days after the 90 day return policy and they said no return and no store credit. I highly recommend any other store over this place. Will continue to get this word out so it doesn't happen to others. read more

CLOSES AT 8 NOT 9!! I still love this place for its prices and warranties on most items. If you're a smart shopper you can get valuable coupons too. They have quirky tools you'd never find at the giant tool stores. If it breaks take it back and get a new one or your refund if you're smart enough to know how. read more

the guys at H F T have been very good to me when ever i go in the store. i have shopped many of their stores from Washington to S Dak to N Mexico to Cali and lets say that approx. 95% of the works are pretty well sharp about the products they sale !!! i have to say most of the time i walk out with between $500 to $1000 dollars and i am disabled but my life isn't without severe pain 24/7 !!! The products are of good standards and not expensive most of the times !!!! Since joining the insider track club my saving on the products has saved me more then at least $4000 to $5000 and i have only spent maybe $10000 to $11000 but that's not what i wanted to do!!!! i went yesterday to buy just a couple of things and spent a couple of grand! that life and there went my saving !!!!!!! read more
