I am in the process of renovating a home near the Heights True Value and I am glad it's close by. From the first time I shopped there it became my go to store because of how helpful the people are plus many of the prices are lower than the big box stores. They have had what I wanted most of the time which is impressive as it's so much smaller than Lowes for example. There is always someone there to help me with plumbing, electrical, really anything question I might have, or the location of an item or just some guidance. Daniel is a great help there, he has been great working with me to find things and is very knowledgeable about most questions you might have. When do you get that at the big stores? Went there today. I needed assistance. Went to the back customer service counter. I was ignored, then asked, what do you need. So rude. Another guy then was "helping me" but not without being a jerk about what I couldn't find, walking to the isle saying, you mean this... Then there is the cashiers. Really, must you shout "go ahead" the nano second the card machine says you can remove it? Does it make you feel in control or important? well its rude. Just wait the, less than 1 second, it takes the customer to do it, we can read and hear. Here is my New Years resolution: Do not, under any circumstances, drive to or spend money at, establishments where the customer service sucks. I am a regular at this True Value location as I live right up the street. I always get amazing service and am known as a familiar face when going in. I went in this morning with a buddy of mine to purchase some items. I went into the isles I needed to while needing a hose nozzle pest repellent for my tomato plant and bug spray! My so called buddy disappeared into the store doing his own thing! Unfortunately the person I was with decided to try and steal from the store and apparently that became a deal that she also included me in. However I wasn't around him at all nor did I know what was going on. I had a beyond foul and rude employee (older lady with curly grey hair, glasses, and big teeth) approach me yelling at me to leave because my "boyfriend" just stole from her. She proceeded to snatch the item I had in my hand out of my hand as well. As I was walking to the front since I was being thrown out I apologized to her and told her I wasn't aware of what was going on and she responded with "uh huh oh im sure now get out!!!". Mind you she is yelling at me, not speaking but yelling! I really find it highly unprofessional and 100% completely out of line/disrespectful with how this lady handled that whole situation. Yes I walked in with him and yes I knew him but no he wasn't and isn't my boyfriend, no I wasn't near him, and no I wasn't aware of any stealing going on. Like I said, I was seriously in my own world looking at bug killer for my house and had no idea where he even was. With that being said, I was going to purchase my items. You cannot accuse and bash a person based off of another persons actions that I was no where around. I can't control other people. I control myself and myself only! Needless to say I was screamed at by this employee, had items snatched out of my hands, and was kicked out of the store for something I didn't do and for something I had no idea was even taking place. And the way she handled everything is insane. It seems like she is unstable and not able to control her emotions which does not mix well working in customer service! You would've thought she just caught me breaking into her home and stealing from her personally that's how crazy she acted towards me. And I was only looking at the back of bug cleaner when she approached me. That was completely and totally unprofessional, uncalled for, and beyond disrespectful to me being an honest person. I have never stolen in my life so for her to yell at me accusing me of being a thief in front of the entire store was absolutely embarrassing, uncomfortable and 100% FALSE!!!!! Whomever the manager is needs to have a serious talk with this lady about how to handle and approach certain beings that are stealing. And notice how I said stealing! I have never been so enraged before. I seriously am at a loss for words! But I do expect for a manager or someone to contact me about this ordeal. You need and will make it right with me! And for falsely accusing me, ripping items out of my hand, screaming in my face, and then kicking me out of the store all FOR NO REASON she should be fired in all reality!! Snatching things out of my hands the way she did. She assumed, accused, and offended a paying customer. I'm even a true value rewards member because I frequent there very often. But anyways, that kinda garbage doesn't fly in todays world. She was insanely offensive to me and quite frankly I have this huge inkling to NEVER shop at True Value again after my experience there this morning. I love to support and shop at small hardware stores. One reason is the service is usually much better then big box retails like Lowes and Home Depot. This is not the case at this store. Ask at the front counter for assistance, waited 10 minutes without anyone responding. I left the store without purchasing. Management: If I wanted shitty service, Id go to a big box. What a difference a day makes, and not for the better :/ we went in on a Saturday to drop off a screen for one of our rental houses and look at a few items to go home and take measurements with and planed to return on Sunday to make the purchases and pick up the screen. On Saturday around noon the store had a friendly helpful employee at every turn, all of whom smiled, said he'll and asked if we needed any assistance. Sunday at noon we approached two employees who literally looked the other way when we approached them and then walked away. So we went to the cashier who we stood in front of until she finally looked up from her phone and frowned at us and we asked her if she could help us locate someone to cut some door mat material for us and that we would like 1 of the 12 foot Santa's but couldn't find one. She firmly told us to go wait by the flooring and someone would help us. We waited over a 5 minutes and became experts in the Ball jar department until we gave up and went back to the cashier who snapped at me as if it was my fault no one showed up and sent me back to the flooring to wait. Then a grouchy, disgruntled man showed up and tried to talk us into spending 20 dollars on a door mat instead of 8 dollars on what we wanted ( we were planning to cut up the door mat material to put under cinder blocks in our roof to tie down the Santa ) once my frustrated husband proved to him we really want the material be cut it for us but complained the whole time that a knife would work better than scissors, like as if we told him he had to use scissors?!?!! We then left with our very crooked piece of carpet to go back to the register, it's now 30 minutes after we left the register and she tells us to wait while she calls to see if they have any of the Santa's in stock, OM Gosh!!!! Eventually another cashier shows up and she tells her the issue and she walks over to the display and picks up a box and we are finally able to be rung up. Thank goodness the other cashier showed up. It took us over an hour to get 5 items we had looked at the prior day :( read more

The service on the floor was exceptional, I will go back here on this reason alone. Unfortunately I had to visit this store a few times on the same day because I was kinda winging my current project, but that was my own definitely not the employee who graciously helped me each time. The cashiers weren't the same way, but there could be different variables to that not necessarily a terrible thing, I'll find out the trend the next time I go back. read more

Wish I could rate zero stars - I wouldn't normally review a chain store, but this place is just awful. When I was ready to purchase what I had picked out, I paid by credit card. It was denied twice so I called my credit card company and they said that the store had ran and charged my purchase twice. I was told to ask the cashier to hand key in my card number and she told me she wasn't allowed to. I asked to speak with a manager, and she insisted I move out of the line, rolled her eyes and ignored me for a few customers she rang up. After she was done with other customers, I asked again to speak with a manager, and she shouted for another employee to come over. He came over, she spoke to him without letting me talk to him, and he just rolled his eyes and walked away. The cashier ignored me and I wasn't able to ask for any further help. Will be pursuing this store for fraud if the charges are not cleared from my card as I did NOT get the items I tried to purchase. This wasn't a problem with my credit card, it is the store itself. The staff here are beyond rude and incompetent. I'd rather shop at a big box store than ever visit a true value again. read more

Is Lowes/Home Despot cheaper? maybe. Are things easier to find there? doubtful. Does the owner come over and personally help you find what you are looking for, measure the bolt thread pitch/size you need, and write it down in case you need another one later and have no idea what size it is? Don't think they do that at the box stores but apparently that's the accepted level of service here, wow. Call me a fan, was pretty darn stoked to find not only what I needed but to be taken care of like that, I'll gladly pay .50c more to have that kind of service. Really love it when that happens, as it's so rare nowadays, glad to frequent a place that still values service for the locals. Considering it's just around the corner from my house, I just might frequent it even more now that I know! At noon, I put in an online order for curbside pickup and paid for 3 items. It said the order wouldn't be ready until 3:15. At 3:15 I hadn't received confirmation text but I was already in the area so I stopped by. I could not locate the curbside pickup phone number or instructions in the parking lot so I had to enter the store (which I was trying to avoid) to ask about my order. They said they had no knowledge of my order. I showed them my phone with the paid receipt while they called back and forth from the front to the back. With no updates or communication from the staff, I had nowhere to go but to stand WAITING near the busy checkout area for FIFTEEN MINUTES dodging customers. I approached the cashier to ask what was going on. She admitted that they hadn't even looked at the pickup orders today! She finally located my order, grabbed a basket and frantically rushed around to find my 3 items. For me, the experience was 100% Covid unsafe and I will never shop there again. read more

Great selection of products and amazing knowledgeable and friendly staff, Niinon (I think that's her name) in particular. I will definitely return. I showed her the piece of hardware I wanted to replace and she immediately recognized it as "metric" hardware. After I explained two other projects, she explained the pros and cons of various types of hardware and led me all over the store giving me options. I shop here on a regular basis when I don't want to go to the major building supply stores. They almost always have what I want and almost always know where it is. Some of the staff is incredibly knowledgeable. I've got 3 houses and I work on all of them myself. read more
