Came on a Saturday afternoon with my husband. Haraz has street parking and lots of space for studying. They had some pastries and a variety of Yemen coffees. I tried the specialty chai. Nice to see a creative SWANA coffee place in town. I tried the Qrish tea because it was the least caffeinated, and it was pretty intense flavor wise. I think the other coffee drinks are probably tastier. The pistachio milk cake was disappointing. Didn't taste like pistachio at all. We were told the drinks and food would be brought out to us, but then we had to check and see that it was actually sitting on the counter. I ran in 20 minutes before they closed, they were so gracious, sweet , and kind even after more people came in. I will say getting to. It is a little bit hard. I had to have my friends drive around while I got our stuff, but it was so worth it. The coffee was good. It's so cute inside. Definitely a good place to work from. THE BIG: Yemeni coffee spot located in the Drag of Central Austin. Tucked away in the street with fogged glass. I almost missed the cafe if it wasn't for the sign on the door. Street parking available. THE BLACK AND WHITE: The wife and I came here on a cold Saturday afternoon before we went to Pease Park to walk around. The interior of the Drag Haraz location was underwhelming to say the least compared to their other location. For drinks we got the Harazi Mufawar and Adeni/Karak Chai. To be honest, I thought the pflugerville location did way better with presentation, taste, and service. Was a little disappointed to be honest. The spices were just thrown in without filter and nearly 1/3 of the way done, all you're drinking is the spices which is grainy and not great. THE FINAL BAMBOO: The damage done was around $13 for the two drinks. Was expecting much better and got mediocre. Not the greatest experience for me and I'd head back to the pflugerville location in a heartbeat. read more

I ordered the saffron cake, Harazi latte, and pistachio latte to-go. I really liked the spices in the Harazi latte. The honey just sat at the bottom and was difficult to mix-in. I would have preferred for it to have been dissolved into the drink. The pistachio latte was delicious and very dessert-like. I would recommend getting a lower sweetness level for that drink. The cake was nice and moist. The service was good but a bit slow. I didn't mind since I wasn't in any rush. Most of the tables were taken, so it seems like a good spot to get some work done. read more

I got the QISHR, which is supposed to have less caffeine. It was really good and tasted a lot like Indian chai with spices and no milk. We came here because my husband loves anything pistachio, and they had a pistachio latte that he enjoyed. The milk cakes are a must, especially if you're into that tres leches-style, super-moist kind of cake. The pistachio and rose milk cakes were were exceptional. There's plenty of seating, the service was decent, and the ambiance and decor were lovely. I only dropped a star because the prices are a bit high for the drinks. read more

I went here every day that I was in Austin because it was right near my hotel. I got the harazi latte. As far as lattes go, it was flavorful and unique. I did find this café to be extremely overpriced. Nine dollars for a latte is kind of crazy even in these times. But the people that work there are nice and the service is very good. I like really strong coffee and even with three shots, it didn't taste wildly strong, but it was flavorful enough. I do wish they had more customizing options like the ability to get the flavors inside drip coffee as well. read more

Spent the afternoon at Haraz coffee house. It is located very near UT, and has ample seating which is great if you want to work/study. I got the saffron iced latte which was perfectly spiced and delicious. It definitely is a solid coffee spot especially compared to the options nearby. I also tried the rose milk cake which was okay. After driving by a few times I decided to give this place a go. I came by late morning and thought the cakes and sweets looked delightful, I passed because I just prefer sweets later in the day. I ordered an iced pistachio latte and waited about 10-15 mins for the drink (I wasn't in a rush and was dining in but if are looking for an quick in and out just be mindful of when you stop by). The cashier was very sweet and customer served wise, no complaints Taste wise I wasn't super impressed by the flavor of the latte. I felt like I wasn't picking up the espresso and tasting just the pistachio and other items. it was very green so maybe it's (ironically) too pistachio-y for my preference? And at about $8 a drink (on the pricier end) I was hoping to taste the coffee in my coffee more. I'm open to coming back and trying a different drink because it was very busy and the store itself is very quaint but prefer the price point to match the flavor. read more

Haraz is a coffee house within walking distance of the UT campus. The coffee list was not as extensive as some but there were still an adequate number of selections. The seasonal fall flavors were tasty and I have no regrets choosing them! At the time, there was a promotion wherein all drinks were automatically upgraded to the next size, while nice, they did not increase the amount of espresso/coffee for the bigger size and it ended up being a little too sweet. I'd been hearing the hype from Pflugerville friends (Pfriends? I'll go put myself in the corner for that...) for a while, but I'm not driving far for a cup of coffee. It's really not that deep for me. When I saw Haraz was opening in Austin, I was excited to finally try it. Today, the stars aligned, and I made it in for a cup. Before I get to the coffee, I want to stress how great the staff is here. Customer service isn't an easy job, but the gentleman who helped me out took the time to answer my questions and help me land on a signature drink. I didn't just want something I could get anywhere else; I wanted something unique to Haraz. After patiently fielding my questions, we landed on an Iced Haraz latte with sugar-free vanilla syrup and oat milk. Yes - I'm insufferable. That gentleman tolerated this nonsense with a smile, and I walked out with a truly remarkable (and refreshing) cup of coffee. Before my visit, my kid brought home a slice of their Biscoff cheesecake. It was great, too. Too rich for me to eat often, but The location is great--good for those who live within walking distance (I don't). This is a great addition to the area's already great foodscape. The ambience is charming and clean. Austin has no shortage of great coffee spots, and Haraz adds to our many great choices. We are fortunate. Haraz approaches coffee from a Middle Eastern perspective, and it's pretty great. The coffee alone would have me sold, but the kind staff puts it over the top. read more

This is such a cute place- elegant ambiance and the perfect study spot. The barista serving us was so warm too. Got the pistachio latte and their harazi latte. Both were excellent with the pistachio latte having hints of nuttiness and the harazi latte being warm and spicy at the same time. Prices are definitely egregious though so be aware. Got a complementary rose tres leches cake because it was my friend's birthday so they get a point for that :)) read more

This is the second location I have been to after the one in Pflugerville. I don't drink coffee so I love that they have several tea options. The iced Adeni is my favorite. I will say, their drinks lean heavy on the sweeter side imo, so I always asked for lightly sweet! They have a rewards program too which is always a plus. read more

I love this place! The coffee is amazing, and there are a lof of coffees to try. It has a different feel from most Austin coffee shops--not funky and not hipster...more of a European feel. I only wish it were easier to find. Between its location on MLK near campus and the lack of signage near the entrance, it's easy to miss. read more
