TBH, I make weekly orders from this place and I'd make more if my waistline and wallet could afford it. I love, love, LOVE the puff cream in my ube milk tea w/taro and red beans. The fruit teas and lemonades are also really good. I've seen some comments about getting the orders wrong, but I avoid having to iterate sugar & ice preference by just ordering through the delivery apps. Forewarning, if you come in the evening on a weekend, even if you order through a food app you will wait. And wait. And wait for your order. I was excited when Happy Lemon finally opened in the north end but quickly disappointed with how long it took to take order let alone get your drink. This particular location was one that already took a long time and we have had a few times where the quality of drink was not good because it was not mixed well. I also feel bad to watch how the employees making the drinks have such limited space. Now they have installed a self order and the wait is even longer. We came in during the middle of the week on a non busy day. We were third in line and it took at least 10 minutes for us to get to self order monitor. I can only imagine how bad it could get in a busy weekend. I have enjoyed my experience at the Lynnwood happy lemon more than the Edmonds. The Edmonds is typically a long wait for everything and now with the self check out line expect for it to be even longer. read more

Chung Chun Rice Dog located inside Happy Lemon in Lynnwood. Tried a mozzarella cheese dog and I love it. All of their dogs are made to order, do expect at least a 8+ mins wait, but it's worth the wait. The bread crust is deep fried to the right crunchiness and with sugar sprinkled all over. Sweet and salty somehow did spark. The cheese inside is melty and tasty. It is only good when consumed fresh or the cheese will not pull. The next dogs I want to try are the ramen and potato ones. The quality and consistency of the products that I have tasted across all Happy Lemons that I have been to are the same. Price +1: Decently priced just like most tea or coffee shops Service -1: You may expect about a 15 minutes wait in line with a 15-20 minute wait after ordering. While I was waiting in line, someone that had ordered from a third party app went up to the cashier and said they ordered an hour ago. Unfortunately, their order was missed, and they had to wait for some time. I thought maybe that was just a one time error, so I tried ordering from a third party app to beat the lines; came in when order was marked "ready" at 7:10p, but didn't get order until 7:55p. Their reason was that the sealing machine was not working, but I watched many of the direct shop orders fulfilled. Perhaps they were waiting for some time as well, but some people use third party apps for the reason to avoid standing in line. SUGGESTIONS FOR THE SHOP: (1) I recommend redirecting the line with a retractable belt stanchion post so that it is in a snake (zig zag) pattern. Having the line go all the way to the door makes it confusing as to whether someone is in line or waiting for an order. (2) Have one to two employees working and focused ONLY on the orders from third party apps. (3) Have a separate line waiting for third party app orders. (4) Cashiers always seem all over the place. Running around to the back kitchen or the side. Not sure if they are having to run to the back kitches to have a specific order made, but something needs to be done. Was so excited that a Happy Lemon opened up north--I've never been able to try it since all other locations I've seen have crazy long lines and I didn't feel like waiting for it. Overall, I liked it but could tell that the employees were very busy, so it might take some time for everything to settle in and run smoother. -- Ube Black Tea with Taro Balls: Yum, this was really good. First time I had taro balls and I enjoyed them. Soft and chewy but with a more interesting texture than regular boba. I got 50% sugar and it was less sweet than I expected it to be but I still liked it. Was not expecting taro puff cream on the inside. It added a nice creaminess to the drink but was a little hard to scrape off from the inside. -- Yakult Lemon Jasmine Green Tea: I liked this too, it was tart and felt like something I would enjoy on a summer day. Ordered 50% sugar and thought it was great. **Ours came with lychee jelly which I don't think is part of the drink, and also a peach seed for some reason? Doesn't seem like it belongs... -- Original Bubble Waffle: A little less fluffy than the standard HK 雞蛋仔 I'm used to but tastes good, pretty much how you'd expect it. You can order sweet puff cream as a dipping sauce. I really loved it with the taro puff cream!! -- 3 Mochi Donuts (raspberry drizzle, Korean churro, taro pebbles): Super good! Freshly baked and super soft and chewy which is what I expect from a proper mochi donut. Raspberry drizzle and Korean churro stood out to me. FYI Korean churro has black sesame on it, which I love. Only note is I wish they sold 4 instead of 3 because they serve it to you in 2 boxes, and one donut is just by itself... would feel more even if it was 2+2 in boxes or if one box was big enough for 3 donuts. I did notice that a lot of stuff being put out was out of order (in terms of order number) and people were waiting for their items even though others who came after them had gotten theirs. I am drinking my Mango Matcha that was bought yesterday as I am writing this review. I have been a happy Happy Lemon customer for a few years, roughly four years since I got my cherry popped with my first sip of Mango Matcha. And in those four years, I have frequented quite a few Happy Lemons spanning from Northern California to the greater Seattle area. Each of those Happy Lemon stores I have been to at least twice. They have always been pretty consistent in their drinks in all the locations and on occasion with slight deviation from standard which is fine. However, damn, unfortunately this one closest to my apartment has been a disappointment. My wife and I are saving money to fulfill the American dream of owning property in a time when home prices have shot up like release day patent leather Jordans on eBay. Since we're trying to save, we only eat out on the weekends and Happy Lemon is a luxury. We look forward to the weekends to treat ourselves from the restrictions during the week. You can imagine the feeling when you have this pent-up urge to dine out with dessert then have something that falls short of your expectations. Don't get me wrong, there is a difference between being disappointed from a place you've never tried versus going to place where there is an expectation. Its like getting a flat coca cola from McDonalds - you feel me? My biggest gripe about this location is the inconsistency. I'm not sure what happened but when they first opened it was fine. Their mochi donuts was amazing - so amazing in fact I would have gone far as to state that it was the best kind of donut I ever had. Its like the first time I had yay-o - what a great feeling. The mango matcha was consistent as well - nice, thick and cold. As of late, I cannot say the same thing about these items. The mochi-nut was coold and not as crispy and the Mango Matcha has been coming out watery - hence why I'm drinking it a day later. I had to put in the freezer then blend it myself. At the end of the day, customers like myself are paying a pretty penny for drinks and pastries. It's not cheap folks. I recently bought two drinks and a waffle with dipping sauce is was 20 dollas - TWENTY DOLLAS!! With those prices I expect better quality control. 20 dollas was half the price of my dinner. This is not including tip as well. And don't get me started on the mochi donut prices. If the items came out good, I think the prices are justifiable. Anyway, I'm writing this review not to put a place out of business. I mean let's be real, I don't think this review would make a dent in their reputation. However, I do hope this review makes its way to the powers that be, so they can starting tightening up their quality control. We gone to this location on many occasions, and the last three times was not great. We might have to consider other dessert places until they can make a mango matcha cold enough to give me a brain freeze again. Here is an experience I had two visits ago. I'm sold after just trying these donuts for the very first time. Ordered a dozen to bring over to friends to share and they love it too! Yes, spendy but completely worth every bite. I asked for every flavor and it worked out more than I expected. They are just the right amount of flavors and sweetness. The dough is nice and soft. The inside as chewy good and has a little bit of crunch on the outside. Flavors are: Green Matcha, strawberry, plain and I'm sorry I can't remember the other 2. I will let you discover for yourselves and I highly encourage you Yelpers! They make the special flavors inside the kitchen but they make the waffle type at the front counter. Update: downgrading to a 2 star. Not only was the sugar percentage wrong (for all drink orders), they made the wrong drinks as well. I had ordered the ube fresh milk with taro ball (A11) for all orders. Instead, what I just tried was a watered down A10 which is the ube black tea. Thank goodness for the taro balls or there would be no flavor in this drink. Not a 1 star because I'm currently enjoying the mochinut, probably the one thing that will save this location. Original: I usually love Happy Lemon! So, I was pretty excited to hear that one would be opening up north along with Mochinut. However, I was pretty disappointed that 1. The cup holder was so short for the tall cups that my drink fell out of holder and splat all over the ground, and 2. The music was apparently so loud that the cashier, even after repeating my order many times, still got my order wrong. This happened with all other customers i observed her with. We've been here twice since opening and they got my order wrong both times- I didn't notice until we already left. The first time it was just the sugar levels- which wasn't a big deal to me. But this time it was just totally off. My boyfriend went in and ordered for us because with the pandemic we just prefer to lessen the amount of people in a space if we can help it. He read off my text directly and he came out with something totally different. He said the music was so loud, people are wearing masks too obviously (inhibits lip reading/muffles sound), and there's also a plexiglass protector that inhibits noise travel. I'm 100% for plexiglass/social distancing/masking, however I think with all of these things it's important to lower the music to ensure proper communication since not everyone has perfect hearing. That being said- my drink was still drinkable. It wasn't ruined, just a totally different drink due to noise levels. Went here for the first time. Got in at 7:50pm. Ordered 2 Hot Tea and a corn dog at the counter by 7:56pm(per receipt). 3-5 mins later, they called our number and by the time I got back to our seat, they started telling costumers coming in that they are already closed. I didn't get the chance to think or react. as we exit, no note or warning to be seen at the main door. we sat in out car as we watch about 4 to 5 parties of 2 trying to get in just to find out that they're closed.
