This is their lunch special except there's no fish. This is supposed to be a spicy tuna crunch except they didn't add any tuna. Just spiciness, 80% crunch and 20% avocado. Please this was such a waste of money and waste of time. Go somewhere else that's actually decent. Bye. Also this is like my 3rd time here. Thought maybe the first two times were accidents or "bad days". Nope. They are consistently horrible and don't put out what they advertise.

Simply fun sushi in a very comfortable space Get a window seat and take in the hood and it's many cultures Can be a fun room or a sit date Great staff and make sure you go for the food. It's a nice find

    Alaska Roll Special

Average place, good for a quick bite. The only thing that threw me off was that their Alaska roll is cooked. Their menu is a little busy so I couldn't find Alaska roll and assumed it'd be the same as every other sushi place. My bad lolz but heads up for anyone else.

Despite its unassuming exterior, this small restaurant packs a flavorful punch that's sure to leave you craving more. From classic favorites like California rolls to innovative creations bursting with fresh ingredients, each piece of sushi is a testament to the skill and precision of the chefs. The quality of the fish is exceptional, with each bite melting in your mouth and leaving you longing for another taste. What truly sets Happy Kitchen apart is its affordability. Despite the superior quality of its sushi, the prices remain refreshingly reasonable, making it the perfect destination for a casual meal or a budget-friendly sushi fix. Whether you're dining solo or with a group of friends, you'll leave feeling satisfied both in terms of taste and value. The ambiance at Sushi Oasis is cozy and inviting, with attentive staff adding to the overall dining experience.

This is a smaller dine-in sushi place that has been around for at least 20 years. They have a handful of tables and despite its age, this place was renovated and is kept relatively clean. In terms of their food, this place is acceptable if you are not picky about your sushi. It is your standard Chinese run sushi place. The portion sizes are at least decent. The bento boxes are especially good value with a lot of meat and sides included. The waitstaff is friendly too. The sushi does taste a little bland though.

Solid 3.5 stars. Good relaxing ambience. The sushi is good enough. It's not outstanding but due to limited options in the area, it definitely satisfies my craving. They are very basic, and not fancy really- at all. The spicy mayo is really spicy but I really like that. I usually get the eel avocado (they always ask if I want sesame seeds on it, lol. Usually the seeds are on the rice but they sprinkle them on top) and I sometimes get the Alaskan roll (the salmon is cooked). I usually love raw sushi rolls but for some reason I feel better getting cooked here. Personal preference. Hubby likes the Explosion roll. Probably best part is the convenience to my apt and the relaxing music.

Super hole in the wall low key sushi place, I was really impressed by the deals. I got the Maki Roll combo for under $15, and for the quality it felt like I was getting away with murder. Solid beer selection as well. It was a solid lunch and I left happy!

Deluxe Happy Platter. Disappointing! Terrible selection and Anari (2) and Flying Fish Roe (2) pieces do not count as rolls!!

The food here wasn't that great but I would eat it if it was free. The sushi wasn't very flavorful and it's run of the mill, lower grade sushi IMO. We got the Happy Deluxe platter and it was very disappointing. The sushi pieces were okay, but crab is a generic piece and the squid sushi was very rubbery. The salmon and eel sushi were the only saving pieces. The tuna/salmon maki were okay pretty normal. The futomaki was flavorless and for some reason they count 2 pieces of inari (tofu skin) and 2 pieces of flying fish roe as 2 rolls!? No, those are sushi pieces. To cap it off, it took them over an hour to prepare this platter and there was ZERO love put into the ingredients. I would not go back here.

    Salmon tempura roll add avocado

We found this small spot near where we are staying while on vacation. It is very small and cozy. There were a few tables there when we sat down but the server was extremely helpful and answered all of our questions about the menu. To start, we ordered a salmon tempura roll and added avocado to it for 50 cents. It didn't come with any sauce on top, so we got a side of eel sauce with it. We also got some spicy chicken wings (5) with the sauce on the sides. They were both delicious and had great flavor. The wings were tender and juicy. For the entree, I had the salmon teriyaki platter and my fiancee ordered the double choice - steak teriyaki and gyoza. Both meals came with miso soup (lunch special), salad, and white rice. My salmon was delicious and had a great sear. The steak my fiancee ordered was tender and juicy. This was a great find!

My long time favorite sushi place in Jackson heights and in general. They always fast fresh, well prepped and just so good. The size of eat bite is bigger than usual sushi places and it just has a satisfying mouth feel. My favorite is the happy role senior with crunch flakes, but they have so many good options. And the spicy Mayo is really good here- can't have an order without it. Its even become a fun tradition for the past 5 or so years to come here with two of my best friends every eid to have the shared platter. Can't wait to go back in a week for that tradition!

Salad is fresh, but taste weird, the sauce is salty. Edamame doesn't look fresh, green with some spot on it. I order hand rolls, Eel Hand rolls is my favorite, big pieces of eel and lot of sauce on it, which I loved. Salmon hand roll and Rolls are normal, cooked salmon is dry and salty. You can taste the sashimi just took out from freezer, not that fresh... but to this area, of course, they won't be that busy as city... so...last order, chicken wing, it's so dry... definitely, won't come again, if you are rich and nowhere to waste money, you can come....

Just touched down, and it's storming. Glad I was able to find some soup and tea as soon as I got of the car! #aShotOfBrandi

Use to be good. Their chicken tempera was just awful. So was the soup. Best part of the meal was the rice. Do waste your money.

Another thing is that if you don't want crunch for any of your orders, just let the waitress know ahead of time and she will make sure the rest of your meals are crunch-less. I came last weekend for dinner and now I'm here for lunch. Last weekend , for this month's special we had one abalone for every person. It was so so good! Lunch is cheaper than eating across the street at Kura. We love akino so much !

This was my first time at their Flushing location and this time, we ordered a la carte. You order on the iPad which has its pros & cons but overall was pretty simple. Their appetizers are well-priced and good portions at ~$6 each for the Edamame, Seaweed Salad, and Kani Salad. Their Seaweed Salad is delicious and is a must for me with sushi. The Kani Salad was also great but I'll probably try the spicy one next time for more flavor. The Yellowtail Jalapeño was fresh, bright, and slightly spicy. We got the Party Box which was perfect for sharing. Everything was beautifully presented, tremendously fresh, and full of flavor. My only complaint was that it wasn't served all together which I would've preferred and would've been a nicer presentation. The reason Akino is my favorite is their rice portion & fish quality! They don't try to overstuff you with carbs, their rolling technique is expert, and the fish is unbeatably fresh and good quality. All the rolls we got were delicious; I honestly can't pick a favorite and would get all 4 again. Amazing dinner!
