This place has a terrible habit of canceling DoorDash orders when customers use discounts. I spent over $300 here within a month in which I earned three discounts I received through DoorDash. However, every single time I placed an order using one of those discounts, the restaurant accepted the order and then canceled it. At this point, it feels extremely frustrating and misleading to spend that much money to earn discounts that I'm then unable to use because my orders keep getting canceled. After repeatedly having the same experience, I will not be ordering from this establishment or visiting in person again. read more

Had a craving for custard filled donuts and this place definitely hit the spot! Love that this mom and pop shop is opened 24 hours a day, making fresh donuts at multiple points throughout. Great variety of donuts, especially my favorite custard filled (and it's generously filled) and also lemon filled. Great prices (with a cash discount), love the classic old school decor and vibes. Hope this small business continues to thrive for years to come. read more

I was really looking forward to enjoying my apple fritter, but while I was eating it, I found this object baked inside. It appears to be some kind of hard fragment that bends slightly, possibly a piece of bone or another foreign object. Needless to say, I was shocked and disgusted. How does something like this end up inside an apple fritter? Finding a foreign object in food raises serious concerns about quality control and sanitation. Now I'm questioning how carefully all of the pastries and donuts are being prepared and handled. This completely ruined my experience, and I'm honestly very disappointed and disgusted af!!! read more

So SAD to experience what's happened with HAPPY Donuts. This place used to offer the best coffee in the area (loved their hazelnut), as well as very fresh donuts and other edibles. The new staff we encountered--we confirmed a change in ownership/management--were quite decent (one star for that) but the coffee was the most tasteless, watered down brew I've ever had, anywhere. The donut and croissant we ordered turned out to be rubbery, not fresh in the least. At least it was consistent with the coffee. We got there before 11 am, so the disaster can't be blamed on a graveyard shift timeframe. Attention, owner/manager, if you're reading this: There may still be time to save this establishment but you'd need to act quickly. Figure out how to get the quality back to the way it was and do that without delay. The business you save will be your own. read more

After trying to find a donut shop after work for National Donut Day, I was ecstatic to see Happy Donut is open 24 hours. The woman working the counter was attentive and friendly, she was working on a few orders when I came in and communicated with me that she would help me soon. They had a large variety and I was super happy to get a blueberry donut because it's my favorite, but not all shops sell it. At check out, the woman threw in a couple donut holes for free of charge. Great spot to support local business and get a treat. Plus they have designated parking! read more

This is a donut shot. The place look scrunch but the donut was goooood. Go try it if you haven't had the chance. Here is my scoring card for this restaurant: 1) Location: ( 5 Point ) - Great location for customer to see and find. Great parking for street parking and back side with parking lot parking. 2) Decoration : (2 Point) - They still have the original decoration. Clean. 3) Price: ( 4 point)- The price is competitive but still a little bit pricey compare to other same stars and type food they serve 4) Quality and Taste : ( 3 point)- The quality is ok, food taste is good and portions are average . 5) Type of cuisine standard : ( 4 point) - The style of American food they serve is pretty close to the way it was prepare in USA. Not bad! But some dishes did have slightly modify to cater the customer's need Overall it's not bad and I thinks it's great to give it a try and let me know what you think. Happy Donut has been a staple place for donuts in San Jose for a long time. My family and I have been going here for years, but it's been a while since I last visited and I was happy to find that the donuts are still delicious (and super fresh) as they always have been. They were also kind enough to throw in some extra donut holes. And you know it's a legit donut shop when it comes in a pink box! Happy Donuts is my go-to spot for a quick and reliable donut run, especially when I need to grab a dozen for a morning meeting. The service is always fast and friendly, and the donuts are consistently fresh. I appreciate that they now take card payments since they used to be cash-only. It makes grabbing a dozen even more convenient! Speaking of pricing, a regular dozen is $18.95, and a dozen donut holes are $3.50--pretty reasonable. There's also a seating area if you want to enjoy your treats on-site. I love supporting a local business, and Happy Donuts makes it easy to keep coming back. Highly recommend! There are also other option besides donuts! I've never gotten anything else, but will definitely try the next time I am back! read more

Located in a small plaza off of Seven Trees where trash fills the parking lot. It's in a questionable neighborhood. Gavin was sick, so I went to get his favorites to cheer him up. He wasn't able to sleep the night before because he had a fever. First time I heard him cry at night. Cash only. Very friendly service. I ordered half a dozen. It was meant to be eaten w/in 2 days, between Gavin and I but we only ate 2.5 donuts. The chocolate old-fashioned was decadent, moist, and rich... but the others we tried were dry but I am not sure if it's because we had it sitting out uncovered. We will return to give it another shot, but we will stick to just one donut per this time. read more

I stopped by Happy Donut today--a classic old-school spot that feels like it's been around since the '80s, and honestly, it probably has. The kind of place with that nostalgic charm: no frills, just good vibes and even better donuts. And today? They surprised me with something new--the ube donut. He told us it was a new flavor, and wow--it's a bomb. That vibrant purple glaze immediately caught my eye, but the flavor is what really sold it. Sweet, creamy, with that signature earthy ube richness--it melts in your mouth in the best way. It's a bold twist on a classic, and somehow it fits right in with the timeless feel of the shop. Happy Donut might be a hidden gem, but with flavors like this, it won't stay hidden for long. read more

I have been to this location many times. This morning on my way to work I make a stop at the place to get some donut holes. I see the tray right in front of me and as I get closer and ask for donut holes, the lady says "sorry honey I don't have them anymore!" Excuse me, I just saw you take them to the back! Then she replies " oh I'm keeping that for someone." Really?!! Since when do you call in advance to place an order? Have some customer service experience, I think the situation could have been handled differently. If you display something than you should sell them. Very disappointed! read more

Quick, easy, and delicious donuts! There's not much to really say about this donut shop. It's a small shop with some indoor seating and it's easy find/get to which I like. It's also open 24/7; very awesome for a person like me who is considered somewhat of a night owl. The donuts themselves are fluffy and delicious and they offer a decent variety of them. My two biggest complaints would probably be that they only take cash and they were out of crumb donuts last time I went. Bummer. read more

Happy donuts is the BEST! I've never eaten there, but they don't have a stigma like Psycho Donuts down the street. I want EVERYONE to post a one-star review on Psycho Donuts and a 5 star on Happy Donuts!!! You don't have to go to any of these places! I'm from L.A. and I've never been to Cambell! Customer Service is not pleasant. Passed by on my way to work, stopped by to pick up 4 dozens of donuts for meeting, the guy that was helping offered me two extra bakeries of my choice, his wife shouted out loud, No No. He answered her, honey, he's buying 4 dozens, continued to say no. This actually used to be one of my favorite places, but since I live farther away now, I can only order from them through DoorDash. On 3/12, I ordered a tuna croissant, but they gave me a turkey sandwich instead. The next day (3/13), I ordered again and specifically asked for tuna on white bread, but they gave me wheat bread, which is a problem because I'm allergic to it. Before placing the second order, I called the store to talk about the mistake from 3/12, and they told me they would make it right by giving me a sandwich. Instead, they only included one piece of donut, which was really disappointing. I reported everything to DoorDash, but they said they can't do anything anymore because a few days have passed, even though I reported the issue earlier. Overall, this was a very frustrating experience, especially from a place I used to really like. I hope they pay more attention to orders, especially when customers mention food allergies.

There was a good amount of premade custard filled donut holes on display. Despite them being prefilled and on display, the donut holes were still crispy and not soggy! I was delighted from the first bite. The prefilled donut holes are different from the regular ones. They are glazed and more similar to a cream puff which makes them super tasty. I love the irregular shapes of each of them and how big they were. The cream puff texture is what makes this custard filled donut holes not feel heavy when you eat them. Very yummy and addicting. The service was okay. I was greeted by both ladies at the counter and the worker who had assisted me seemed very attentive. I got a dozen cream filled donut holes which were 8.99. I would say thats pretty expensive but for about .75 cents per donut hole, i'd say it's worth it. The ambiance was okay but for a donut shop I wouldn't really say that matters. The inside is a bit outdated but most people come and go anyways. The display looked clean too. I went to the location on Berryessa.
