Came here to pick up some doughnuts. it is COVID compliant inside (for take out). The doughnuts were really good, very light and fluffy on the inside, the bacon maple doughnut was very good and unique. the price is great and they stay open a lot later than other doughnut shops that were closed when I dropped by a couple closer ones before ending up here. This is the kind of small family-owned business you want to support. I live in neighboring Berkeley, so I don't pass by this shop anywhere near often enough. Although if I lived closer, I would probably eat too many donuts. They treat their regulars like family, and all of their customers like friends. The donuts are tasty (as with any donut shop, the best ones are the ones fresh in the case, and they'll help you choose if you ask). The shop is open 24 hours. Prices are very reasonable for the quality and selection. But for me, the lovely folks behind the counter are the best part of visiting the shop. This is my favourite "go to" doughnut place. On some early mornings, I'll even hop in the car and grab a donut for my son so that it's ready before he wakes up. Happy Donut is also a great late night stop too and is perhaps in a "safer" neighbourhood than Happy Donuts on Gilman. The folks are nice here and my fellow clientele never fail to be "interesting". My usual pastry choices are consistently good and coincidentally seem to be purchased when the donuts are reasonably fresh.
