Roasted Cream Corn and Bacon Mac & Cheese

Update: they changed the recipe for the Mac n cheese and creamed corn and they were awful. Got rid of some sauces. Chicken used to be thick and juicy but now it's super thin and flavorless. Really disappointing. Used to be in our monthly rotation but kicking it to the curb now.

I got the little chick which is 2 chicken tenders, fries, and a dip. I chose the spicy tenders. They weren't too spicy but they were flavorful and juicy. I chose the garlic ranch as my dip. I would come back here just for their garlic ranch honestly. It was one of the best dips I've ever had! In the dining area you have to order through a QR code. It wasn't very efficient and we had problems with the order not going through so I would recommend just ordering all food and drinks at the bar.

Had a nice time going in and order my food to go. Sat at the bar and had a few Jell-O shots and a beer while I waited and talked to the staff. Very kind bar staff! The inside is cool with plenty of seating. I even saw a show upstairs at the comedy club the following night. The food was as good as it looked. Good spice on the tenders and all the sauces were amazing.

Fast service, incredibly fresh food, and great drinks. I highly recommend the spicy chicken tenders with hot honey sauce and the white cheddar mac and cheese--absolutely perfect!

Say Happy Chicks Sixth Street may be dirty but this place is cleaner than a chicken coop. I wanted a quick place to grab lunch and took a seat at the bar. Apparently you order/pay for your chicken and drink on the phone and the staff brings it out to you. It's a bit futuristic but works well. The place is between a fast food joint and sports bar, and fits well on 6th Street. The chicken strips arrived in pairs with a side of fries. They were great! The chicken was hot and crispy and had a side of ranch. It was exactly what I needed between meetings. The decor is Austin eccentric and the staff is very nice and friendly.

I've seen this place with a huge line on the weekend nights, but it's pretty lowkey if you wanna grab lunch on a weekday. I totally love that they're making it acceptable for adults to order chicken tenders, since theirs are simply amazing. Only complaint is that I ordered a Jumbo Chick for takeout and didn't get a bacon mac & cheese; they gave me two creamed corns though. Original Chicken Tenders: These are no Tyson tenders from the freezer section! They are thick and juicy and covered in a crunchy batter. And they're pretty darn filling! Only downside is if you take any as leftovers, they're a bit limp reheated... so just eat them all at once in the first place! Country Gravy: This is white gravy, not the brown kind you get at Thanksgiving. It added a nice creamy texture, but it was kinda bland. Garlic Ranch: Tasted like regular old Ranch to be honest. But ranch is a great pairing to chicken tenders. Roasted Cream Corn: Wow, this side was awesome! Roasted corn, with nice blackened bits, in a creamy soupy sauce. Very rich and filling, a little goes a long way. Fries: These were a tad disappointing. KInda limp. Some sort of seasoning smeared on before frying, but not that memorable. It's weird this came out of the same deep fryer that made those masterpiece tenders. Gooey Butter Cake: This was the sleeper hit! One of the best desserts I've had in Austin. So buttery. So gooey. So soft. It was pure deliciousness. I might come here again just for the cake!

Four of us came here trying to get some good food after a show we saw. I should have known that if there is no wait on a Thursday evening downtown the place cannot be that amazing. We seated ourselves, the food and drinks took a long time to come out and there were two staff in the entire place. I will say the chicken disco ball was the hi-light for me. It is a cool chicken disco ball above the bar and that brought me a lot of joy! The ambiance of the place was only mediocre for me. I get it, it's a chicken place how dazzling could it be!? Lol the guy who dropped off our food pointer around a corner and said if you want water help yourselves. We were so hungry we just gobbled our food down but it was not well flavored and did not taste wonderful. The sauce was better on the chicken than anything else! I must say the fries were well seasoned and cooked perfectly! The bill was affordable and you pay before you eat so when we were done I thought it was cool how we could easily take off! The server was pretty nice when he dropped the food off. Sadly I probably will not be coming back here.

Ordered the ATX salad with the fried chicken here- and granted, I probably shouldn't have gotten a salad at a chicken tendie place but I was feeling heavy from all the meat sweats and needed some greens. The actual salad was fine. Pretty standard greens mix with some avocados and your basic grocery store shredded cheese. It came with one chicken tender that was sliced up. Sadly, I thought the chicken tender was actually kind of dry. I also didn't love the batter- it wasn't well seasoned. The chicken tender reminded me of subpar tendies from the school cafeteria, hence the low stars. For $13.99, this wasn't a super cheap meal either. Would not return

I came on a small trip with some peeps and I've become a big fan of just plain chicken tenders with a side of fries. Well this just elevated what I expect chicken tenders to be. I ordered a couple of chicken fingers that came with fries and hot the amazing honey sriracha sauce which made this meal much better. I sat and enjoyed a beverage as I waited for my meal and and it called my attention that there was a disco chicken hanging bright like a diamond. I learned from the person who took my order that it was custom made and designed specifically to their likings which just gave another level of authenticity to the place. This place is also open at night with good music and vibe, so overall a great spot in 6th street and near the hotels. Can't wait to come back and enjoy the amazing and vast options of chickens that they have!

I just wanted something simple, and the food was good. Though the food was fresh and juicy, it had no spice to it (I ordered the tenders spicy)... unless it was just me expecting much more. I was initially the only one in the establishment when I walked in, and I had to order off of the table where I sat. I do not like the fact that when you order, you do not have a choice of what sides go with which meals hence why I I ordered two extra tenders with my little chick order. I wanted four te sees she just fries, but I also wanted the option to mix and match my sides versus the bar having what would go with each order. I do not live in Austin, so this was a new place for me. I would return to try other items on the menu.

Stopped in here downtown on 6th during a bar crawl and was pleasantly surprised. You order at the table by scanning a QR code. Menu is easy to navigate and it's very fast service. Quality of food is good, cocktails were strong but we did have to go up to the bar to make sure they brought them to us, they said it was an app error. Big booths and plenty of seating option.

They had space for working virtually as well as displays to test some of the technology. There's a nice balance between indoor comfort and that signature rooftop-style setting, which gives it a relaxed but elevated feel. The staff was friendly and kept things running smoothly, and the overall setup felt thoughtfully organized. Whether you were there to focus on the installation or just take it in casually, the environment supported both. The line was somewhat long to get into the event as it was at capacity and could only allow more people as people were leaving the event. I was given a drink ticket and got to try the Patio Pounder with ilegal mezcal, primo aperitivo, tropical citrus, coconut, grapefruit soda. The bartender was efficient even though the lines were long. The cocktail was enjoyable with the balance of smoky and citrus flavors. They also had a variety of food bites available including chips and queso. creamy street corn, and sliders. The food was gone relatively quickly due to the crowds but it would be replenished periodically. Overall, Upstairs at Caroline proved to be a solid venue for a creative SXSW event versatile, welcoming, and very on-brand for Austin's arts and tech scene.

The bartender claimed I was drunk and cut me off anyway. She was clearly into me, and the bartender kept jumping in trying to talk to her too (instead of doing his job making drinks). No explanation other than claiming I looked drunk, which I very clearly wasn't. It felt very clear what was going on--he wanted me out of the way. I left and asked the bouncer on my way out if I seemed drunk. This was literally two minutes later. He said no, not at all, and asked me why I would even ask that. I then told him exactly what happened and asked him to let the owner or whoever was in charge know about this extremely unprofessional conduct so they can discipline the bartender. His response was that the bartender has discretion to cut anyone off, and let me know the bartender is supposedly married so he couldn't have been flirting with any of the customers. Well, sounds like his logic is flawed--not only COULD he flirt with his customers, he WAS, and was therefore cheating. I hope his wife finds out. This is perfectly representative of Austin customer service lately and not normal in other places. I was in Tampa for an entire month earlier this year and this would've been unthinkable there.
