Super yummy! The service was also really great the servers were all so nice and attentive the overall vibe inside made a huge difference of my experience. We ordered the cucumber salad (10/10), spicy wontons (8/10) , pork soup dumplings (9/10) drunken noodles with chicken (10/10 favorite thing we got!!!), and a mango crepe cake for dessert (7/10). Everything was really good and I would definely come back especially for the noodles and to try some other items.

So nice we went there twice....in one day. My husband and I came for lunch with my mother. That's where we tried soup dumplings, ribs and noodles. Everyone was pleased with their plate- the only complaint would be the spoons. They don't have flat bottoms so you end up holding it the entire time you are waiting for your dumpling to cool. When dinner rolled around, my husband and I really wanted to try other dumplings and buns. Just as delicious as when we went for lunch. Both times they were busy with to go orders, which looked like they are very well packaged. I thought the prices were fair. Very exciting to have something like this in Mansfield

Tucked away just off the service road next to Hat Creek Burger, Happy Buns Dumplings Restaurant is a hidden gem worth seeking out in Mansfield, TX. While the location can be a bit tricky to find, it's well worth the effort. The place had a charming atmosphere & adorned with beautiful Chinese lanterns throughout that provided a warm and inviting ambiance--perfect for some cute photo ops! Let's just dive in with the food: **Braised Beef Noodle Soup**: This dish was good, but I found myself wishing for a bit more depth in flavor. The broth was nice, just missing that extra kick to elevate it. **Hot & Sour Dumpling Soup**: A highlight of the meal, this soup was really great! Still, I was hoping for a more pronounced spice and sour note to intensify the experience. **Pork Fried Rice**: This was delicious! Packed with BBQ pork pieces and flavored just right, it was a comforting dish that I'd gladly have again. **Pork Soup Dumplings**: Could not skip these & they were nothing short of delightful, bursting with flavor and a must-try for any dumpling lover. **Beef Buns**: Another winner! The flavorful filling made these buns truly satisfying. **Pork BBQ Buns**: Yep, delicious as well! The balance of flavors and textures was spot on. **Green Beans & Cucumber Salad**: Wow! Both were amazing, beans perfectly cooked and seasoned, cucumbers were garlicky with a nice crisp; definitely standout side dishes. **Coconut Shrimp**: So delicious! Though it could have benefited from a little more sweet mayo glaze, the shrimp itself was outstanding. **Spicy Fried Shrimp**: A good dish, but it felt like it needed a sauce to enhance the flavors, as it was basically fried shrimp dusted with chili flakes. **Stir fried noodles** This was also a nice dish, I'm not big on dry noodle dishes, but everyone said they loved it. Overall, we had a wonderful visit to Happy Buns. The service was stellar throughout our visit, with friendly staff who made us feel right at home. Definitely worth a trip if you're in the Mansfield area! Also good to note-- if you order to-go they bring it to you in the cutest insulated store bag!

Our experience here started off amazing! The food was delicious and we were really enjoying ourselves. We really enjoyed the crystal shrimp and the soup dumplings. These were definitely the highlights. The beef pancakes were also very tasty but I didn't enjoy the sauce because it was too salty. Also I was pleasantly surprised to find Chinese broccoli on the menu! Unfortunately it went downhill the longer we were there. The food wasn't matching what was shown in the pictures of their menu. It hit rock bottom during desserts. We saw that there were crepe cakes so we ordered a slice of the strawberry one along with 2 of the dessert dumplings (both azuki and taro flavors). The server left and then came back shortly to ask which flavor of the crepe cake we wanted. We told him we wanted strawberry. He left and came back to tell us that they only had mango left. We agreed to take the mango one. When he came back with the cake, it was still frozen. What a let down! However we just let it go and didn't say anything. Next came our dumplings. Unfortunately only 1 came out and it came out raw. We sent it back but the server came back to tell us they were fully cooked and wanted to know what we wanted to do about it. We had already waited about 20 minutes for the desserts to cook and his tone didn't convince me that they would make it right so we told them to cancel our order. Overall I think I would come back to give them another chance because they did have some very good dumplings. Now that I know what to order and what not to order, maybe I'll have a better experience. tldr: Not everything on the menu are aces. Their desserts didn't come out edible. Hope you get a better server than we did.

Beef noodle soup

The waitress was very nice and had really good recommendations. I ordered the beef noodle soup and the veggie pork dumplings. The beef noodles were really good. The beef was very tender. The soup was quite savory. I prefer the noodles to be a more al dente. The dumplings were very juicy.

Finally got a chance to try Happy Buns. We arrived after 7:00 pm and it was busy but no wait. The inside is bright, Chinese lanterns adorn the walls and lots of character to the layout. Service was great, very efficient and attentive. Our food took a little while to come out but was good. I particularly liked the Drunken Noodles. They were perfect. Not overly expensive and a nice addition to the Mansfield dining scene. I highly recommend checking Happy Buns out.

Cute place and decorations but lack the taste and texture of what dumplings should be. The dumplings were all stuff in the steamer and not juicy. The wrappers are thick. Reminds me of the Trader Joe's soup dumpings. Service was ok. The waitress forgot to give us our CC back so we had to come back and get it. It's nice to have a place close by but I rather drive to Dallas or Lewisville to have good dumplings.

Starting off, the place was packed and they are new. So there was a little confusion with the host getting everyone seated or to-go orders placed. I kind of expect that as they learn their flow. We ordered the orange chicken, beef and cabbage dumplings, and combo fried rice, all to go. It took about 20 min (not bad) to be ready. As for the food, I would grade it a B maybe B-. The fried rice was good, the dumplings were great, but the orange chicken was cooked to hard! So much so I had to spit a few pieces out. That was throughout the entire batch. One piece was even hard to cut. I would go back to give them another try but would def. steer clear of the orange chicken.

This was our second visit--we also came on their opening weekend. We ordered the beef spicy noodles (my son ate them so fast I didn't get a picture!) and the spicy edamame. We've tried quite a few items from the menu, and overall the food has been pretty good. That said, the service still needs some improvement. I wasn't a fan of the plastic silverware, the soda machine was out, and I never received a refill. Our lunch also took quite a while to come out. On the plus side, there was no wait at noon, which was great. I'll plan to come back in a few weeks and hopefully see real silverware, a working soda machine, and a bit more staff training.

Great food! Casual place with a friendly staff. Only things I'd change were the chili oil didn't have much spice & quite a few of the soup dumplings ripped. Other than that I would try it again!

She asked if we had a reservation (at 12 noon on a Sunday!). We didn't as we had just learned of the restaurant 10 minutes prior thanks to Yelp. She told us "no problem, we have a table where you can sit or you are welcome to sit at the bar." We chose the table. Once there, a kind woman brought us ice water, welcomed us, and told us to relax and enjoy ourselves. There is no rush to eat quickly. Next arrived our friendly & awesome waiter! Once he learned that it was our first time there, he asked if we needed any help in decifering the menu and offered his assistance should we need it. We told him we were ready to order... Then the food arrived.... We ordered the chicken, celery, and carrot dumplings, wagyu potstickers, Peking duck, and traditional chicken fried rice to eat family style. Wagyu potstickers - they were good. You could definitely enjoy these with or without the sauce that they provided. Traditional chicken fried rice - the rice was too moist and lacked flavor. (My son thought it had too many peas. I thought it was a perfect amount. LOL) We will not order this dish next time. Peking Duck - my son and daughter devoured it saying that it was delicious!! (I do not personally eat duck so I'll take their word for it). Chicken, celery & carrot dumplings - these were our absolute favorite!! So much so that we ordered a second serving of them. We discussed the fact that we could not think of another restaurant with chicken dumplings that we liked more. Will we return to Teddy Wong's??? DEFINITELY!!!
