We came here recently and thought it was a nice spot to eat! We had a group of 5 (including a toddler) and everyone left happy and full. We got a wide variety of the soup dumplings, we tried the stir-fried chicken noodles , crab rangoon, scallion pancakes and half a peking duck. There was no shortage of flavor and the stir-fried noodles were my favorite dish. The truffle dumplings had a VERY strong truffle flavor and they were even a hit for my 5 year old. The service was good, we got refills in a timely manner as well as the additional food we ordered. We did get some cold strawberry sake which was good, but it was also the only flavor they had left. We visited on Christmas Eve around 7pm and the place was not full at all. I think there were about 2 other parties there. The hallway to the restrooms was so decorative and nice and the actual bathrooms were clean and well-kept. I could come back here to eat again.

So nice we went there twice....in one day. My husband and I came for lunch with my mother. That's where we tried soup dumplings, ribs and noodles. Everyone was pleased with their plate- the only complaint would be the spoons. They don't have flat bottoms so you end up holding it the entire time you are waiting for your dumpling to cool. When dinner rolled around, my husband and I really wanted to try other dumplings and buns. Just as delicious as when we went for lunch. Both times they were busy with to go orders, which looked like they are very well packaged. I thought the prices were fair. Very exciting to have something like this in Mansfield

Tucked away just off the service road next to Hat Creek Burger, Happy Buns Dumplings Restaurant is a hidden gem worth seeking out in Mansfield, TX. While the location can be a bit tricky to find, it's well worth the effort. The place had a charming atmosphere & adorned with beautiful Chinese lanterns throughout that provided a warm and inviting ambiance--perfect for some cute photo ops! Let's just dive in with the food: **Braised Beef Noodle Soup**: This dish was good, but I found myself wishing for a bit more depth in flavor. The broth was nice, just missing that extra kick to elevate it. **Hot & Sour Dumpling Soup**: A highlight of the meal, this soup was really great! Still, I was hoping for a more pronounced spice and sour note to intensify the experience. **Pork Fried Rice**: This was delicious! Packed with BBQ pork pieces and flavored just right, it was a comforting dish that I'd gladly have again. **Pork Soup Dumplings**: Could not skip these & they were nothing short of delightful, bursting with flavor and a must-try for any dumpling lover. **Beef Buns**: Another winner! The flavorful filling made these buns truly satisfying. **Pork BBQ Buns**: Yep, delicious as well! The balance of flavors and textures was spot on. **Green Beans & Cucumber Salad**: Wow! Both were amazing, beans perfectly cooked and seasoned, cucumbers were garlicky with a nice crisp; definitely standout side dishes. **Coconut Shrimp**: So delicious! Though it could have benefited from a little more sweet mayo glaze, the shrimp itself was outstanding. **Spicy Fried Shrimp**: A good dish, but it felt like it needed a sauce to enhance the flavors, as it was basically fried shrimp dusted with chili flakes. **Stir fried noodles** This was also a nice dish, I'm not big on dry noodle dishes, but everyone said they loved it. Overall, we had a wonderful visit to Happy Buns. The service was stellar throughout our visit, with friendly staff who made us feel right at home. Definitely worth a trip if you're in the Mansfield area! Also good to note-- if you order to-go they bring it to you in the cutest insulated store bag!

Super yummy! The service was also really great the servers were all so nice and attentive the overall vibe inside made a huge difference of my experience. We ordered the cucumber salad (10/10), spicy wontons (8/10) , pork soup dumplings (9/10) drunken noodles with chicken (10/10 favorite thing we got!!!), and a mango crepe cake for dessert (7/10). Everything was really good and I would definely come back especially for the noodles and to try some other items.

Food only review. The hubby stumbled across this place and had to stop by. I love buns and I love dumplings What we got and my score: Black truffle soup dumplings 7 Crab soup dumplings 9 Bbq pork buns 9 Pork fried pan buns 10 First of all, the To-Go orders come in reusable/thermal bags!! (Well ours did) I thought that was awesome because my food was still hot when hubby got home (we love 8 miles away). The Black truffle soup dumplings smelled like truffle but didn't taste like truffle. They were all yummy. The Crab soup dumplings were so juicy and savory. The Bbq Pork buns were stuffed with tender, delicious, sweet bbq pork. The bun was soft and pillowy. And last but not least, the Pork pan fried buns, were so yummy and addictive. If I weren't sharing I would've eaten them all without guilt. We will definitely be back.

It's a nice little spot with a cool design. Their Pork Pan-Fried Buns were amazing. The Five Star Fortune gives you a chance to try out all their soup dumplings but I really loved their Pork Soup Dumplings the most. The food didn't take long to come out.

Our experience here started off amazing! The food was delicious and we were really enjoying ourselves. We really enjoyed the crystal shrimp and the soup dumplings. These were definitely the highlights. The beef pancakes were also very tasty but I didn't enjoy the sauce because it was too salty. Also I was pleasantly surprised to find Chinese broccoli on the menu! Unfortunately it went downhill the longer we were there. The food wasn't matching what was shown in the pictures of their menu. It hit rock bottom during desserts. We saw that there were crepe cakes so we ordered a slice of the strawberry one along with 2 of the dessert dumplings (both azuki and taro flavors). The server left and then came back shortly to ask which flavor of the crepe cake we wanted. We told him we wanted strawberry. He left and came back to tell us that they only had mango left. We agreed to take the mango one. When he came back with the cake, it was still frozen. What a let down! However we just let it go and didn't say anything. Next came our dumplings. Unfortunately only 1 came out and it came out raw. We sent it back but the server came back to tell us they were fully cooked and wanted to know what we wanted to do about it. We had already waited about 20 minutes for the desserts to cook and his tone didn't convince me that they would make it right so we told them to cancel our order. Overall I think I would come back to give them another chance because they did have some very good dumplings. Now that I know what to order and what not to order, maybe I'll have a better experience. tldr: Not everything on the menu are aces. Their desserts didn't come out edible. Hope you get a better server than we did.

Finally got a chance to try Happy Buns. We arrived after 7:00 pm and it was busy but no wait. The inside is bright, Chinese lanterns adorn the walls and lots of character to the layout. Service was great, very efficient and attentive. Our food took a little while to come out but was good. I particularly liked the Drunken Noodles. They were perfect. Not overly expensive and a nice addition to the Mansfield dining scene. I highly recommend checking Happy Buns out.

Cute place and decorations but lack the taste and texture of what dumplings should be. The dumplings were all stuff in the steamer and not juicy. The wrappers are thick. Reminds me of the Trader Joe's soup dumpings. Service was ok. The waitress forgot to give us our CC back so we had to come back and get it. It's nice to have a place close by but I rather drive to Dallas or Lewisville to have good dumplings.

Starting off, the place was packed and they are new. So there was a little confusion with the host getting everyone seated or to-go orders placed. I kind of expect that as they learn their flow. We ordered the orange chicken, beef and cabbage dumplings, and combo fried rice, all to go. It took about 20 min (not bad) to be ready. As for the food, I would grade it a B maybe B-. The fried rice was good, the dumplings were great, but the orange chicken was cooked to hard! So much so I had to spit a few pieces out. That was throughout the entire batch. One piece was even hard to cut. I would go back to give them another try but would def. steer clear of the orange chicken.

This was our second visit--we also came on their opening weekend. We ordered the beef spicy noodles (my son ate them so fast I didn't get a picture!) and the spicy edamame. We've tried quite a few items from the menu, and overall the food has been pretty good. That said, the service still needs some improvement. I wasn't a fan of the plastic silverware, the soda machine was out, and I never received a refill. Our lunch also took quite a while to come out. On the plus side, there was no wait at noon, which was great. I'll plan to come back in a few weeks and hopefully see real silverware, a working soda machine, and a bit more staff training.

I arrived during lunch hour so I grabbed the General Tso's that came with fried rice and the option of an egg roll or soup (I opted for hot & sour soup and ordered an egg roll as well). The food came out quickly and when I looked at it in the car, I was pleased by the portion size (they give you lots of rice), the soup came with the wontons I like, she put sauces in the bag along with utensils, however the egg roll was one of the smallest I've ever seen. For me, the chicken was good, I'd eat it again, the rice had a weird taste to me almost like old grease, the egg roll was okay but small and the soup that I had high hopes on was meh. The staff were very friendly. I'd come back and maybe ask for white rice versus fried rice and skip the soup. However the hunt is still on!

They don't deliver themselves but we've had all orders delivered in under 30 minutes which is great when you're really hungry. Giving 4 stars instead of 5 only because of errors and inconsistencies. They've made a mistake on every single order (eating chicken fried rice right now even though I ordered pork; last order came with extra rice instead of the extra eggs I ordered, etc.). So nothing major but it has happened on every order of food for 2 people. As far as consistency, I'm referring to things such as spice levels. I ordered a level 5 spice one time and it was decently spicy but nothing crazy. I ordered that same item another time with a spice level of 3 and could barely eat it because it felt like I was eating straight heat. The mistakes and inconsistencies haven't been enough to stop us from ordering though since we really do enjoy their food, and the portions are generous. I've been there in person once to pick up a replacement order after one of the errors b/c they don't have their own delivery drivers so there's no way to bring you the correct food order after the initial delivery. With that being said, I like to believe I have a good palate for Chinese food. If you're coming here expecting authentic Chinese food, you won't necessarily be disappointed but just know that your expectations also may not be met. However, if you're looking for upscale Chinese American food then Teddy Wongs is certainly the place to go. I came here on two different occasions - one for a friend's birthday and another for a date. In short, both were great. Both times did require reservations or at least strongly implied so. I did see one couple that seemed to have gotten turned away on a busy night, so just keep that in mind. Additionally, parking may be a bit of an issue as other reviews have noted. However, if you plan accordingly and park at a nearby lot where it's past hours and marked, then it's not an issue. That's at least how it was for me in both instances. Now, when you walk in, the space is more of a dimly lit environment. Perfect for celebrations or date nights (at least from my two visits). With reservations, we were quickly seated. I will say that we were seated quite close to another table during the date so for smaller parties, you may get to know your neighbors. Both servers in the visits were phenomenal - knowledgeable with the menu, friendly with interaction, and quick overall. Could not ask for better! Having been here twice, especially for the birthday, I'd say that I got to try a good amount of their most popular items. In terms of the dumplings, what stood out to me were the pork and crab soup dumplings, spicey wok-fired har gow, and the truffle pork soup dumplings. An appetizer that I will say was a standout was the cucumber salad. It has a good amount of spice that is well complimented by the cold temperature of the dish with a satisfying crunch. Perfect palate cleanser, especially before the dishes that come ahead. For mains, the spicy cilantro cod was a standout with just the right amount of heat. Of course, you have to get the peking duck. It comes in half or whole options. During both occasions, in parties of four and two, we got the half and it was enough. Sure, it wasn't necessarily the quality that you'd get in Beijing but it's certainly up there for a Chinese American restaurant. For dessert, we got the chocolate dumplings. It's exactly what you would imagine... melty rich chocolate contained within a dumpling wrapper. If you've ever had Din Tai Fung then it's more or less that. Lastly, in terms of drinks, I did get the Lucky Emperor at one visit. It's sweet, crisp, and tart. Great drink that I believe complimented the meal! Overall, I do recommend Teddy Wongs. The food is good but the atmosphere, vibes, and service are what really make this a worthwhile visit.
