I'm staying in a hotel and called the restaurant to make sure they included cutlery, and everything I asked for was there. As to the food: Hot and Sour Soup ($3.75) - Very good. Spicy with an emphasis on black pepper taste, which I like. Chicken Dumplings (steamed) ($7.75) - 6 nice sized dumplings that tasted great. The dumpling itself was not dried out. Excellent. Seafood Combination Deluxe ($17.95) - combination of shrimp, scallop and crab (I assume the crab is the imitation crab typically found at restaurants), with broccoli, small corns, carrots, mushrooms, snap beans and water chestnuts in a brown sauce. This may be the best Chinese in the country. I used to go to them when they were on Stewart Avenue forty years ago. I am an old restaurant guy and I recognize quality and freshness and lots for your money when I get it you get all of those here. I tried something I never had before last weekend called the Phoenix. It's still enough rose from the ashes to perfection. I'm glad they moved. The old neighborhood was just too dangerous, but I will be back weekly. I ordered this evening Peking ribs and a barbecue ribs dinner combos w/fried rice I received fried rice absolutely zero taste, but if you are on a low sodium diet, it will be good for you because it's basically white rice with a splash of color or just plain brown rice I don't know. The ribs on both of the plates taste exactly the same and they were not ribs. They were just chunks of pork! for my side. I got 1 chicken flat and a mini eggroll and was for two dinner orders. Cute little Chinese restaurant in College Park. FOOD: I was feeling adventurous so I had the fried lemon chicken with fried rice. This was different, but tasty just because I love lemon. The fried rice is just that. Nothing extra, just rice. My friend had the veggie fried rice with broccoli beef. Appetizer we had veggie egg rolls and chicken wings which were both and tasty. The ambiance was cute and cozy inside. There were not a lot of customers so we were seated and served without issue. Our waitress was knowledgeable of the menu and attentive. Passed it many many times but never purchased a meal. I was hungry one day wanting Chinese Food and decided to use my Uber Eats. I ordered Manchurian Egg Fu Yung, and a Pu Pu Platter. The platter came with Shrimp Toast, Chicken Wings, Barbecue Pork, Egg Rolls. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Couldn't eat it all of course. The Egg Fu Yung was very delicious and not under cooked like some restaurants like to do. I requested extra gravy and they complied. Everything was neatly packaged and there was nothing leaking in the bag. That was a big deal to me because Chinese food orders always leak due to the sauces and gravy. I ordered online and the service was quick and easy. I was told 15 minutes, but was excited that my food was ready way before. The business is still COVID frequently, so you aren't allowed to dine in, but that worked for me because this is my break food. The customer service was spectacular and all needed utensils were in the bag prepackaged for me. I wish I only remembered to grab extra duck sauce as I am not a huge fan of soy sauce. I was looking for a different Chiniese restaurant in my neck of the woods. And I have to say Happy Buddha Restaurant impressed me on the first try. The parking lot is pretty raggedy, theres potholes so beware and dodge them carefully. Parking is pretty unorganized but you can get in there. The inside was clean. Their dining room is closed due to Covid regulations. They do require a mask when you enter. The customer service is great, the young lady at the counter is very kind and fluent in English. I ordered two eggrolls, eight piece chicken wings, hot and sour soup, and shrimp egg foo yong with shrimp fried rice. The eggrolls were very tasty, full of cabbage. The eight piece chicken wings were crispy and seasoned very well. The hot and sour soup I didn't like it ,it was very bland. The shrimp egg foo Yong was great. The patty was big and the gravy was nice and brown not a sauce. I would definitely return to this Chinese restaurant and recommend it read more

Stayed at the Quinta Inn & Suites for a local exam close to the airport, and found this gem during our two night stay. We went directly to the website, and ordered through their system: BeyondMenu, and picked up our order. They were prompt with their service and SUPER REASONABLE and the portions were generous to say the least! We ordered: 1. Chicken Corn Soup ($1.95) - got it extra spicy as I was sick and it definitely hit the spot! For $2 - easily A STEAL! 2. Crab Rangoon (6 pieces - $3.99) - So big! Not the best crab rangoon I've had, as there was more outside shell vs. inside filling, but still was good for the price! 3. Hunan Beef (Hot and Spicy - $8.75) - favorite entree, spiced well, and good amount of meat! 4. Curry Chicken (Hot and Spicy - $7.95) - really good portion, probably was my least favorite dish out of the bunch, but was still good! 5. Mandarian Fried Rice ($7.55) - We didn't realize how big the portions were - but we got 3 chinese containers of the fried rice - we ate it for 2-3 meals - HONESTLY SO WORTH IT! I have been a LOYAL regular customer at this restaurant for years, believing in the importance of supporting local business. I am 63 years old and unfortunately am a Cardiac Patient after undergoing a heart procedure in 2014. Consequently, I am careful when ordering, seeking healthy options, for example "Low or No," additional sauces, sodium, lightly stir fried. My daughter ordered an Orange Chicken entree (for herself) today. Upon returning home and preparing to eat, she noticed the cuts of Orange Chicken were quite sizeable. Upon cutting to eat she/we discovered that the majority of the cut was 3/4 heavily fried batter, with only 1/4 being chicken. In addition, some cuts were batter only, with no chicken. We called Happy Buddha indicating the issue, asking to return to exchange the dinner for something healthier and our request was unprofessionally and unkindly denied by the owner who quipped, "No one complains about what we serve. Everyone eats happily." I should also mention I had just ordered a healthy dish of vegetables the night before. I kindly expressed my displeasure, indicating I will never return. For anyone who is health conscious, I would recommend a different restaurant. Last, I am the only one in my office who continued to support Happy Buddha. Others stopped eating/ordering from them because of concerns expressed about their low scores from the Fulton County Department of Health. I'm in Public Safety and several in our inspection section say they do not eat at restaurants that have a score of 89 and lower. Happy Buddha falls into this subset. I just checked on Yelp for the latest Health Score earned by Happy Buddha, and wished I had known prior to patronizing Happy Buddha Restaurant today. Yelp indicated, per Hazel Analytics which is referenced as quote, "A leading provider of Health Department data analytics," that Happy Buddha Restaurant on Virginia Ave. received a Health Score of 71 (seventy-one) effective September 28, 2022. Furthermore it was indicated as an improvement from a previous Score a month earlier, on August 30, 2022 of 56 (fifty-six). read more
